Avatar m tn Another noticed that her white blood cells are constantly above average and going up slightly each blood test. Could the salmonella be still there and causing all her symptoms?? We are really struggling to get an idea of what’s wrong and it’s so draining on her to go form doctor to doctor and not get anywhere. I was just hoping there would be someone out there that might read the whole thing and with a fresh set of eyes help us figure out what is going on?
Avatar m tn Day 19 – Western Blot test report negative (negative for all antibody bands); Day 21 – Scheduled for ELISA testing and expecting report for PCR testing; Day 27 – Propose to get another ELISA, Western Blot testing and PCR testing Given the symptoms, I am super-anxious and under a lot of stress currently. What would be your suggestions to me? Should I plan more testing? Based on the symptoms and circumstances, do you render that I am at high risk? ?
514510 tn?1272718736 They couldnt find out what was wrong, finally test revealed salmonella, they put him on Cipro for a week or so, and he was back to normal in no time. ***** you went through so much before they found it, but at least you had alot of preventative test done along the way!
Avatar n tn Are these results conclusive for being negative for HIV or do I need to get another ELISA again on 90 days post? The odds I've figured for myself are about 1/20,000,000,000 which makes me feel pretty good (using 3% incidence which is probably very high in the first place). I've also read that the difference between 82 and 90 days is irrelevant. However, it's just one of those things where a very slight possibility still seems uncomfortable.
Avatar f tn i was the diagnosed with salmonella at the end of january and given antibiotics. i gave another bowel sample last week and results today show i still have salmonella. i have been prescribed ciproflaxacino and sulfintestin now for 10 days.
Avatar f tn E colic and salmonella are both serious. Salmonella is not just "a bit of diarrhea" if you test positive for either it must be reported to your local health department and you'll be very sick for some time, and you can still shed the bacteria in your stool for up to 5 weeks.
1699466 tn?1306937018 What is this strain salmonella newport, C2 0149 ? what is the cause. Is this a common strain? I can't seem to find any info on the internet. I had this strain in Novermber 2010. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I'm just wondering what my odds of contracting salmonella are. I went out to the Wildlife Sanctuary today and fed the ducks, and two decided to fly up onto my shoulder. They even climbed on my feet. If there were any germs, they're now pretty much everywhere. I've touched my jacket, scarf, phone, wristlet, etc. Countless surfaces I could have passed any germs to.
Avatar f tn What kind of restaurant? What spices or sauces were used on the chicken? Bottom line, though, if you have it, you'll soon know. Actually, by now, you definitely know. Sometimes chicken does have different coloration, especially since they aren't all sourced from the same types of places. Organically raised, chicken, for example, has different coloration that Tyson's.
Avatar m tn i already pass the 3 month period to get tested for HIV my question is , "HIV AG\AB test" after the three months it will be searching for the AB as well as it search for the AG if it found it, so what is the method used to search for the AB in the (HIV AG\AB) test , 2- is is better than the method in Elisa AB test after 3 months , 3- if i did h="hiv AG\AB" test after three months " is it conclusive as if i did HIV Elisa AB test" thanks in advance
Avatar f tn No matte what generation for test method , elisa generation 2 ? 3 or 4 ? Someone said 3 month is conclusive but some said 6 month & 12 month . Which is the correct timetable for conclusive test result ? Last test was 177 days by elisa negative but don't know what generation , was this result conclusive ?
Avatar f tn Hiye, this may seem a silly question but is the Elisa test that is used for HIV the same as the Elisa test used for rheumatoid arthritis?.. Is the Elisa just a standard antibody test that is not disease specific and if reactive then a specific test is used?..
Avatar m tn A negative Western blot test means the ELISA test was a false positive test. The Western blot test can also be unclear, in which case more testing is done. Negative tests do not rule out HIV infection. There is a period of time (called the "window period") between HIV infection and the appearance of anti-HIV antibodies that can be measured. This period is 3 months from exposure. However, negative WB at 45 days is certainly very encouraging.
Avatar n tn A few varieties of salmonella bacteria result in typhoid fever, a sometimes deadly disease that is more common in developing countries. If its not Salmonella than there is a good possibility for the following effects may occur due to high temperatures in your body (memory loss) (impaired motor skills) and potentially death if your bodies immune system is too weak to fight off the infection.
Avatar f tn My husband had positive elisa test with 3.45 value in august 2016 for hepatitis c. Then he got treatment aND it showed 0.85 value in January 2017. He got checked his hepatitis C by elisa test again two days back. It showed a value of 85.0. He's active n doing job. No cough or any other symptoms. He did it as just a routine checkup. Avatar n tn Dear Doc (and forum readers), About a week or so ago I needed to get a medical check for work. When I got my results back, I was shocked to be told that the Elisa test came back as HIV reactive at 1.52. They tested it twice. I really have no idea what that number stands for, though. I don't have sex. No girlfriend. And I don't sleep with street workers. As far as I can remember, I have not come into contact with blood (except when killing mosquitoes).
Avatar m tn with refer to no.1. it seems HIV antigen (for ELISA test) could withstand for long period after taken out from human body? In addition, may I know what should do and dont's before blood sampling for ELISA test for HIV? e.g. fasting, take medicine, smoking, sufficient sleep, no fever etc....

Avatar f tn it happened that i am familiar with the ELISA procedure... for me it takes up to 6 hours at best... here it was less than 3..... yep, negative of course. ositive would take a western blot which as i know may take days...

Avatar m tn ve 30.50.60.70.80.86.92.115 elisa test. it necessary to obtain the test to be negative anymore, all the days of 6 months?
Avatar m tn 1 percent of the population is a low incidence of hiv, every elisa test is good at 3 months, that you have been told already, with each generation of test they get to detect a little bit earlier, elisa has been used to detect many viruses other than hiv, its an extremely reliable way to test for a virus, to culture for the virus takes to long. i doubt if they still use first generation test unless its home access test, also rapid test like oraquick are equilivant to 2 nd gen testing.
Avatar f tn my doctor is said to me to give pcr-rt (quantitative) test? what is pcr? I am very worried.
