Avatar m tn I had taken 2 Elisa test and 2 HIV DUO test and one rapid test this year (last DUO and Rapid test yesterday) all of them were negative. Avatar m tn Six weeks post exposure I visited HIV specialist and he did physical assessment on my mouth and body – before sending for test he told me that I don’t have HIV, I tested PCR and HIV Proviral, DOU test and ELISA DNA from two major reliable labs ( Nairobi Hospital, MEDANTA and Metropolis ) and all come back NEGATIVE. I also did general Blood Picture which was normal as my Dr told me.

The result was ok But Esnophil was now 11%. I was not taking any medicine for esnophil. Now I tell my story to doctor and then we decided for an ELISHA- HIV test.

Avatar m tn It was a rapid test. I Don’t know if it was elisa or something else. At 3 months could that test change and came back positive? What are the chances? How reliable is a 6 week test after having symptoms at 2 weeks? From your personal long experience, what is my odd that I did catch hiv?
Avatar m tn I I would go to the doctor and get a complete blood count, a blood test for malaria, thryoid test and fasting blood sugar and hemoglobin A 1 C, and a skin test or Xray (if you had the BCG vaccine) for TB, unless you can only afford to do a few tests then just check for the TB and the Malaria to start with.
Avatar m tn In the 2 months that followed she had 4 episodes of fever with rash showing up three times. Dengue and Malaria were ruled out by a blood test. The stem cell bank in question (www.reelabs.com) has given us a certificate of analysis claiming that they test for HIV 1 & 2, HCV etc via PCR before extraction of stem cells from cord blood.

Avatar m tn Tuberculosis (through sensitive ELISA test), cancers of lung, esophagus, lymphoma, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, cystic fibrosis, and histoplasmosis. A PET scan may be diagnostic. If this does not yield results then yes, a lymph node biopsy may be required (however, before that it is important to rule out tuberculosis). Rheumatoid arthritis too can cause swollen lymph nodes and fever. Hence, may be she is having a flare of rheumatoid arthritis. This needs to be ruled out.
Avatar f tn Hi and sorry you are ill. Are you in the U.S. now or what country do you reside in? So you don't know if they did a smear for malaria or what. I think you should try to get a PCR test for malaria. Maybe if you can see an infectious disease specialist that would be best. Have you been swimming, wading or washing in fresh water? If not that is good. You should also get a stool sample done a few times for parasites. You could have several things at once.
Avatar f tn Well....malaria testing will not check for pregnancy. Any time your have vaginal sex there is ALWAYS a chance of pregnancy regardless if you had sex on the last day of your period, first day or your period, etc. expecially if you had unprotected sex.
