First of all, the Hopi have no role in inventing ear candling, it's from India. All evidence is that ear candles do nothing whatsoever except put melted candle in your ear, but people have been doing it for centuries and so if it makes you feel better, go for it. But again, it has failed all double blind studies.

I can hear but, it feel like I have pressure in my ear and as though the right ear only. I also hear slight ringing at times including small clicking noises randomly. I have a 3rd follow up appointment w/ my ENT on Thursday. The 2 hearing tests at this point show loss of low frequency and voices sound high pitched in the right ear. Should I be going to a specialist? I suggested that I had water in my inner ear but, the doctor will not agree.

I was dumb enough to try ear candling even though studies show it doesn't do what is intended. People swear it helps them and I had been having congested ears. Long story short hot wax from the candle dripped into my ear and now I am in pain. This morning a piece of "candle" wax came out of my ear but I am almost certain there is more in there. My hearing is muffled and when i move my head while sleeping the crackling wakes me up. Any advice or solutions?

On Monday morning I woke with an ear infection. I went to the doctor right away and was given Otic Edge, told to continue an antibiotic I was already on, to call if it wasn't felling better in a couple of days, and to schedule a recheck for a week later. Thursday, my ear still felt plugged, I was getting sharp pains, and ringing so I went back to the doctor. He said that there is alot of drainage in there and it kinda looked like swimmer's ear.

My husband is a doctor so we have exhausted the medical community, ENT, neurologist, internal medicine, chiropractic and all tests, MRI, CAT scan and the official vertigo test at the ENT. Nothing found anything. I finally heard about ear candling. I used 5 in one ear and 6 candles in the other and had INSTANT relief and these candles were full of wax and yeast. I will be repeating this as a preventative measure once a month or more often if needed but I finally have relief.

Are you sure it isn't ear wax build up? They sell over-the-counter ear wax removers at cvs. It may have just got worse when you got your cold. If it's not popping then I would think it's most likely a build-up. and useing a q-tip will only make it worse so I would deffinately try the liquid remover for relief. And while your at cvs you can ask the pharmasist for his opinion too. Good luck.

This sounds like swimmer's ear - this is an infection of the outer ear canal and it can be very painful! Water and bacteria become trapped in the ear and causes pain and swelling. This needs prescription medication - if you can find a CVS minute clinic or urgent care clinic, they should be able to help you. In the future, to prevent this, use special drops in your ears after swimming to dry the ear and prevent the infection. Good luck!

Have anyone taken a CVS lately? I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and have an appointment for a CVS on December 5th, I'm really concerned because this is my 2nd pregnancy and I'm 40 my oldest is 22! And I really don't want to lose this baby because I know that there's a chance of miscarriage after an invasive test like that,any tips,ideas,or suggestions.

well i will be going to my first ever CVS test tomorrow. I'm so scared. with my last 6 children i had amino's. i swallowed and it sounded like little pop rocks ( u no the candy) in my ear.....but it never happens during the day and it doesnt happen every night....could this just be ear wax??? or do you think it could be fluid or an eustraain tube problem??? someone please help!!

About a week ago it felt like a lymphnode under my chin was swollen and kind of sore. That worried me. Yesterday I started having ear pain on that same side. Today the ear pain is worse and my ear feels full, it's hard to describe. It hurts from my lymph node and into my jaw and ear. I am the type of person that always jumps to the worst conclusion. Could it be that I just have an ear infection and that the swollen lymph node was trying to fight it and lost?

ve been spitting out blood and I noticed this tumor like thing growing on the top of my left tonsil. About a month ago or 3 weeks my ear felt really like weird, and painful I couldn't hear much out of it for a few days. It's cleared up but I'll feel a shooting pain every now and then. Are you sure it isn't just ear wax? Don't use a Q-Tip, as that only pushes wax further in, but maybe you could ask your husband to look into your ear with a flashlight. Years ago my primary doctor told me how to deal with ear wax, if that's the trouble. He said to put a little olive oil in my ear at bedtime, then a piece of cotton to hold it in. I have had a CVS before and am just curious if I can expect to feel the same way after having an amnio? e.g. abdominal cramping/general soreness. I am having an amnio this monday and am just trying to prepare myself mentally. I would assume them to be similar. . .
