Avatar n tn I have PCOS and have been on Yasmin BCP for like 6 years to control my PCOS symptoms. The reproductive endocrinologist told me Yasmin is the gold standard for PCOS patients because the drospirenone works best in mitigating the symptoms of high testosterone like acne and hair growth. Well my gyn nurse practitioner called and I guess there is new evidence out that Yasmin is causing causes more blood clots than other BCPs, and this is a risk that increases as you get older.
Avatar f tn I think that there are alot of options open to you besides birth contol pills or taking oral meds....like Brooke said almost all pills have such a risk of clots manifesting themselves especially if you have a family history of blood clots the % goes up for incidence. You may want to look at all other options out there for you besides taking "the pill" and i know there are many of them out there.
1583546 tn?1296671467 I was on the pill for 13 years and went off the pill 8 months ago & still haven't started my period. I went to the gyno & he said this is common, he took blood & tested for thyroid issues & came back normal. He perscribed Provera for me to take by everyone says that made their acne horrible and just made them start but didn't help them to cycle regularly. I have hated all the side effects of being off the pill.
Avatar f tn Drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) and my OB/GYN wants to see how my hormones are doing. The hormones he wants to check are prolactin, cortisol and testosterone and my GP has also ordered estradiol as she suspects that checking cortison will not be possible (it has to be done in a hospital and this is unavailable atm due to COVID-19). I will have a blood test next Tuesday, coincidentally during my placebo week (and probably my first day of period).
Avatar f tn I've been taken the Drospirenone for about two years, and before I had the HIV test, I also had taken some skin disease medicine, will these medicine influence the test?
Avatar f tn no pain, no premenstrual symptoms and 3 days max of very light bleeding (which considering I have PCOS has been a blessing). I take Yasminelle, which is a combined pill of drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol. However, this month I had some brown discharge on the last day I took my pill (like 3 hours after I took my last pill, which I took a bit late, but maybe like 2 hours later than I usually do) and I had some cramping on day 24th, but nothing major.
Avatar m tn she took 4 pills from Yasmin pill- (combination of Ethinyl Estradiol and Drospirenone) exactly after 30 hours from the incident followed by another 4 pills after another 8 hours, does this help?

Avatar f tn It also takes a long time for me to recover. For instance, in April I had a fever, throat infection and flu that took 2 months and 3 courses of antibiotics/medication to go away. I also get diarrhea about once a week for no reason. I’ve always had digestive/gastro issues since I was a kid and after throwing up on an almost daily basis, they discovered that I had hiatal hernia and GERD in 2016. I also get random rashes on my body as well as a malar rash on my face.
Avatar n tn There are many new pills available in the market with lesser side effects of weight gain, mood changes etc.Birth control pill containing Drospirenone and ethinylestradiol may be helpful since they have lesser side effects. Drink plenty of water everyday and avoid oily fried foods to prevent acne. For more queries and assistance do consult your gynecologist before starting any new pill. Keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
136956 tn?1688675680 Because of your symptoms on Marvelon 21, your doctor can try a different pill like Yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) which is great for reducing acne. Talk with you doctor about your symptoms.
Avatar f tn In April I went to my family doctor and asked about birth control. My doctor and I decided on a continuous method. Below is a detailed account of the medication and symptoms. *Something also important to mention, is that I had an ultrasound this week. and the report stated, " Small exophytic cyst or paraovarian cyst left ovary. Otherwise, unremarkable ultrasound. When I first started Lessina, I saw immediate results (taken about a week before I was supposed to start my period).
Avatar f tn ve spread to cover my entire chest, upper arms(down to short sleeve length), and upper back pretty solidly. This past week, its spread to my lower back and upper butt, and the top of my stomach. I went to a dermatologist, and he diagnosed me with prurigo, gave me a prescription for some cream and told me to use sarna. Didn't explain what it was, nothing, so I looked it up when I got home - I do not believe that is what I have.
603412 tn?1220315536 Hi I was just wondering if there is a link between PCOS and miscarriage? I had a miscarriage a few years back and ever since then I have had nothing but problems with my periods. I don't know for sure if I have PCOS but my doctor suspects it as well as my friends and family. Before the miscarriage my periods were always on time and I never had any pain.
Avatar n tn s anyone else out there who has the two symptoms I have that are not common to PCOS. That is, does anyone have PCOS and is thin? Do you have PCOS and you get your periods like every two weeks? If you are I want to know if you know anything I don't...
Avatar f tn I have a small, below the skin, small lump on the lower lip line where the line meets my skin. it's not noticable, but i can feel it with my tounge. i constantly pick at it until it becomes a sore. it heals in a few days and we are back where i started. i smoke but "occasionally" maybe a pack a week. i am a sun worshiper. is this a cyst or possibly lip cancer? Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago, and none of my nurses told me until I looked on the paper and saw for myself.... The stuff they tell you and the stuff you read is more than discouraging about Conceiving and losing weight and being normal. I'm close to giving up.
1238554 tn?1339420116 to answer ur question though YES all these symptoms could be related to pcos, pcos will usually make u gain weight and the skin color changes are usually due to hormone imbalances, as is the anxiety. i too have horrible anxiety with panic attacks, it does get a lil better once u get the pcos under control, loosing weight will be the most important thing! the best advise i can give u to do that is avoid sugar, carbs such as white bread pasta potatoes ect.
Avatar f tn I have pcos and pregnant. 14 weeks. I've had some spotting and sharp cramps when I cough or sneeze sometimes, but nothing much. Keep in contact with your doctor. Ask them of you're bleeding a lot. Another girl I once knew who had pcos, and was diagnosed during her pregnancy was put on bed rest because she was bleeding too much.
