My question is, would the increase in acid reflux and stomach pain be a likely side effect of the doxycycline. I know doxycycline can cause acid reflux or stomach pain right after you take it, but could it cause it many hours later? What about the itchy bumps on my arm? I know doxycycline can make your skin sensitive to light, so might that be a skin reaction caused by it?
ll bet the infection was never culturd snd it may be entirely resistant to Doxycycline. Shortness of breath if NOT a side effect of Doxycycline.
m not sure if Zofran is used in children but you could ask. Tetrabenzene is used but that has some serious side effects so that might not be for children either. But there are other medications as well. Clonidine in patch form (Catapres) is especially helpful for tic like motions (tardive tourreticism which is a variant of tardive dyskinesia I have as well). I am on Tenex which is helpful as well. I believe both of those are used in children.

I made a bonehead mistake and may have taken an extra dose of my 100mg Doxycycline treatment. To be more specific, on day 10 of the 14 days I'm scheduled to be taking the antibiotic I may have taken 3 pills instead of two. I also mistakenly missed one dose on day 5 of the treatment but was advised not to take a "make-up" dose for that by my doctor friend who proscribed the treatment (he's currently out of the country which is why I'm writing now).
I don't know if these are symptoms of a condition or side effects of some of my meds, so can someone help?
I take Norvasc, Altace, Lexapro, Crestor, AndroGel, Doxycycline Hyclate, and Advair 250/50. I have been on the first 4 for years. The last 3 have been added within the last several months. I also have Severe Sleep Apnea, but I use my APAP religiously. AHI is usually <4, but will on ocassion sneak up to 5.
All last week during my crazy symptoms, I was taking two a day 100 mg of doxycycline a day to clear up what I am sure was a form of either urinary infection of some form of chylamidia. After some research on the internet, I found that most cases have some pretty nausiating side effects, loss of appetite and all that fun stuff.. thats also backed from what I have heard from a lot of other soldiers around here.
I am well aware of what the side effects are but I dont care. Do any of you doctors out there give more than 2 a year? The shot seems to only work for about 3 months than I have to wait and suffer since cream and oitments dont work anymore and have horrible cosmetic side effects. I am a healthy 21 year old mal and have had this for 5 years on my face. Never had it as a child and no one in my family history. Doxycycline is not related to amoxicillin and sulfa drugs as it belongs to a different category of drugs(tetracyclines).Side effects of doxycycline are headache, dizziness, blurred vision, body aches, flu symptoms,skin rashes,chest tightness,respiratory difficulty,nausea,vomiting etc.
I strongly advise you to ask your daughter to stop taking doxycycline so that no life threatening anaphylaxis occurs.
I'm more worried about the hair thinning right now. I've seen posts about people thinking their hair thinning is a result of the medication. The side effects I've found is a long list and hair thinning has been mentioned. I'm scared to death and beginning to panic about it.
