Doxy only cures chlamydia if I am correct. I got treated for both chlamydia and gonorrhea just in case when I thought I wasn't cured and it was two different medications.
Your discharge may be from a yeast infection due to the doxy you were taking for acne. What Vance didn't say was that we do not advise on self medicating so, if that is why you are asking, it is strictly unadvised.

2 weeks ago, I was given one dose of 1g azithromycin that helped (pain when urinating gone). Last week, since they also found chlamydia in my anus, I was again prescribed doxycycline (2x100g) for 7 days. Dicloxacillin is a poor choice for any STD. It has no effect against chlamydia or the other bacteria that cause cervicitis in women and NGU in men, and borderline efficacy at best against gonorrhea and syphilis. The alternative to doxycycline is azithromycin 1.0 g orally in a single dose, which is safe and effective in pregnancy. If gonorrhea is a concern, then it's azithromycin plus a cephalosporin antibiotic, such cefixime or cefpodoxime; or a 2.0 g dose of azithromycin.
My stream/flow is fine, but the pressure is always there. The Dr. put me on Doxycycline now twice a day for 10 days. What could this be at this point?
I'm on day two of the Doxycycline and I'm miserable. Haven't had any sexual contact since initial incident.

How affective is doxycycline 100mg when taken for a period of seven days to cure infections and std's present in the body alone with a shot a penicillin.
It came back positive for Chlamydia. I have been treated for this now 4 times, have not had sex in a year with my fiance and my test continues to come back positive. I have been treated with the doxycycline everytime because the other medication I am unable to take due to allergies. Are there any other treatments other than the doxycycline and azithromyacine?
I was prescribed 1g of azithromycin 3 weeka ago in the UK for chlamydia.
Unfortunately from a bad reaction I had to a medicine years ago, I have a phobia of tablets, so I crushed the azithromycin, mixed it with water, waited for it to dissolve (about 2 hours), and drank it (very foul bitter taste).
After 3 weeks, my chlamydia is back, exactly the same stomach cramps, and discharge (I'm female).

I also had 10 doxycycline pills I was using for razor bumps, however, doxycycline also treats chlamydia. I took 2 a day for 5 days following this encounter. Assuming she had chlamydia, was there a high risk of me catching it if I was only in her for 30 seconds and would taking the doxycycline for 5 days have treated it assuming she had it and transmitted it.
I called my family doctor and she has now prescribed me with 10 days of levofloxacin and has requested that I go in for a urine test to check for chlamydia or gonorrhoea. I also had sex with my girlfriend about 4 days ago before I felt the symptoms return after I had finished my doxy - she has not shown symptoms of anything this entire time.

Hi, I am under treatment for Gonorrhea & Chlamydia as i didnt go for a test but had a colorless and sometimes white & light yellow discharge from tip of my penis with a burning sensation & frequent urination. Doctor gave me doxycycline 100mg for 10days. I am on my 4th day. Since yesterday discharge has increased and its not stopping. Is this normal or is this how it gets healed. I am worried if the medication isnt working or this is how you get healed from gonorrhea or chlamydia.
Ive just been prescribed doxycycline to cure my chlamydia (i hope finally) and i know i have to take it for seven days and refrain from sex. But after the seven days, am i ok to have sex again with my partner?? do we need to wear a condom?? or will it be cured?
Through all my own research, I have never heard of avelox. Azithromycin or doxycycline are best for chlamydia. Suprax or cipro(?) for gonnorhea.
I was recently diagnosed with NGU and was prescribed doxycycline 100mg bid for 7 days. My physician said to abstain from sex until all the medication was gone. That is exactly what I did. I ended up having sex 4 to 5 hours after I took my last dose of doxycycline on day 7. Did I put my partner at risk by having sex so soon after treatment? Also, I took 13 out of the 14 pills. (I choked one of the pills back up and spit it out). Would that have an impact on the meds efficacy?
I was also retested for chlamydia and trich. I tested positive for Chlamydia. On December 12, I was prescribed Doxycycline for 10 days. After finishing the doxy, on December 22, I am having the the indigestion-like abdominal discomfort, itchy rectum, and my eyes are still red. It is now December 30, and I’m still having issues.
This is not pleasant and I’d very much like to get over this. Please advise. Thank you.
