My scalp has also been very dry and itchy with dandruff. I never had any of these problems before Doryx and so of course I stopped about a week ago. My hair is at least half of what it was last year. Please help someone if you know anything? How devastating as a woman to have to go through this. If losing hair was listed as a side effect (like it should be), I would not have taken this. Clearly it's no coincidence.

m not sure what to do because my skin has really cleared up from Doryx but if I continue to take it I will be bald with pretty skin! Not a great combination! Thanks for reviews!

I started taking Doryx 250 mg as prescribed by me derm around oct 16...the first week was fine but then I noticed the 2nd week I was losing double the amount of hair in the shower. These weren't even new hairs, but complete long strands were falling off and i've never experience that before. I nearly had a heart attack! A few years ago I had a horrible case of acne and was put on the Doryx pill for 3 weeks, wash with Brevoxyl 2x day, morning Tazorac topical and evening Duac topical. This combination cleared up all of my acne and dark spots in a month !!! So after two months I weened myself off of the topicals. Everything was fine. About 2 years later, I had another bad breakout. I have really oily skin, lots of white and blackheads and acne scarring (dark spots) resulted from these pimples.

I've been prescribed Keflex, Bactrim, and now Doryx. Still won't go away. I don't go out anymore because of this condition. I don't know what I would do if I met a really cool girl. 5 weeks ago i was admitted to the ER with a burning during urination and slight tenderness at the testicles. I was tested for STD's per urine analysis which came back negative. The doctor deemed it as a possible UTI and I was on a regimen of Doryx 150mg qd X 14d. I abstained from any sex for the duration of treatment. The burning had long subsided and I engaged in intercourse with my partner, who 2 days later found out she tested positive for chlamydia.

Hello, I planned on getting STD tested in a few weeks but just completed a ZPACK (azithromycin) for a sinus infection and my dermatologist has put me on 100 mg doryx (doxycycline) for acne. Other then the HIV test should I go ahead and get tested for gono, syph, chla? So my take away is that compared to other abx, doxy is harder than average on the stomach, and that laying down has nothing to do with the action of this particular drug, per se. This makes more sense to me.

I was having the 'doxy conversation' with my LLMD yesterday. He insists if it's taken with food, there is minimal/no problem. But that's not what I hear here from a number of posters. Can be an individual response, I guess, but .... I'll definitely take it with food. Good for you for calling the LLMDs for an appointment. The sooner you book one, the sooner you'll get in to see them.

Some days I can eat, food looks good. Other days food is gross. I'm tired all the time, but no morning sickness. 10weeks, second baby. Anyone else experiencing this?

re bored, lonely, emotional.. food is just something we associate with comfort. What did our moms do when we were upset as babies? They fed us! Why do we crave sugar when we're sad? Because it releases those feel-good hormones. It's only a bad thing when this passion for food gets out of control. Eat when you're hungry and you'll never have to worry. Find something else to do that makes you feel just as good.

i have been diagnosed with Hypothyriodism at the again of 2 and had a thryoidectomy at the age of 10, but during my 20's i notice that i been using food to cope with my depression and stress. How can i deal with this issue?

Just food is sufficient, but some whole fat, maybe yogurt, if you like ice cream, bagel w/ cream cheese, My coordinators, health care providers, just say eat what you can.
