Hello, I planned on getting STD tested in a few weeks but just completed a ZPACK (azithromycin) for a sinus infection and my dermatologist has put me on 100 mg doryx (doxycycline) for acne. Other then the HIV test should I go ahead and get tested for gono, syph, chla? The reason I ask is that from what I am reading on this forum, often times those antibiotics would clear up those infections. Thank you. This has been a very helpful and informative forum.

The burning had long subsided and I engaged in intercourse with my partner, who 2 days later found out she tested positive for chlamydia. I had been off of the Doryx for about a week when I found this out and went straight back to the doctor to receive treatment for chlamydia infection. Could this cause these symptoms? symptoms: burning/tingling feeling on the penis head. occasionally i feel the burning sensation inside my penis near the middle. occasionally the feeling is also on my scrotum but not a lot.

I am 32 years old and have been prescribed Doryx and a topical acne medication for slight facial and back acne. I have been taking the medication 5-6 weeks and for the past week or so I am noticying hair loss. (roughly double the normal amount of hair I would loose in a day.) My hair is noticably thinning. I started taking Doryx 250 mg as prescribed by me derm around oct 16...the first week was fine but then I noticed the 2nd week I was losing double the amount of hair in the shower. i only go to the pharmacy and ask for the best medicine and they give me a generic medicine name doxylag. after 3 days the intense itching is lost. i take doryx for 1month now. and now i feel a little itching in the skin of my pubic hair. my question are.. 1) What are the long term side effects of doxycycline? 2) Do the bacteria are wash out? 2) After my 1month cycle of doxycycline im now free in any disease? 3) When can is the best time to notice the "white stuff"?

Testing for chlamydia/gonorrhea by blood does not mean you have a current infection. It only tells you if you had at one point in time developed antibodies for it. For accurate testing you need to be tested by swab or urine.

ve been reading that 2 gm would be necessary for Gonorrhea and 1 gm would take care of Chlamydia. I called him today to make sure he prescribed the proper dose and he reassurred me that 1 gram is all that is needed. Is he over seeing this?

He directed us to take two 250mg tablets once daily for three days. Will this cure chlamydia or should I take a higher dosage? Would it hurt to take four pills (1000 mg) to treat the infection and would this be a better dosage alternative? Thanks for the help.

Was I tested too soon, or would that be adequate time for bacteria to be detectable for both chlamydia and gonorrhea? I am concerned because when I went in for testing, I was experiencing some burning/itching of the vulva and some urinary discomfort, abdominal and back pain. These symptoms continue. My doctor also checked for yeast and other bacteria, and I had none of either of those. Wondering if maybe I have a UTI, if I can be confident that chlaymida and gonorrhea truly are negative.

I had protected sex with a guy on Friday and Saturday. I was recently tested positive for chlamydia and I'm afraid he may have gotten it. Before sex he fingered me some but can you get chlamydia by doing that? He didn't immediately touch his penis or anything after fingering me. The fluid would have already been dried or wiped off if he had touched himself. HELP!

Would a negative test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea 13 days after exposure be conculsive? Its porbably all in the mind but 26 days after I could swear there are symptoms.
