Common Questions and Answers about Ditropan xl information

ditropan

Avatar f tn I have started Ditropan XL 5mg HS without any change in the droplets. Any ideas as to what I should or could try next? My urologist thinks my sxs are overactive bladder. How can this be resolved?
Avatar f tn There is also Elavil a low dose tricyclic antidepressant that takes away pain if you have alot of pain and drugs like ditropan xl which relax the bladder and cut down on frequency/urgency/some discomfort and pain. I think a combination of these drugs usually gives people quite a bit of relief and also following the IC diet which you'll find at that website too. I don't think I have IC but probably overactive bladder and the ditropan xl has helped alot!
Avatar m tn The Hyperhydrosis can be treated with Ditropan or its generic. A colleague took this on an as needed basis during stressful instances and he said it worked well. However, I don't think its related to the three other challenges you face: dandruff, eczema, and tinnitus. Each of these show signs of some underlying allergies. There are skin allergy tests, blood (RAST) tests, and elimination tests.
Avatar m tn My urologist prescribed Ditropan, which I took for about a year, which helped at first. Flomax was added the following year, which again worked for awhile, but the symptoms returned after 6 months or so. The Flomax caused retrograde ejaculation, which bothered me because in the past, I had always shot a fairly substantial load when I ***.
1188179 tn?1350116119 I have been on Ditropan, then Ditropan XR (or EX, don't remember which is correct) and after about 10 years that didn't work, so my doctor put me on Enablex and that works pretty well. Then I got a new Dr. and he wanted to switch me to Vesicare. That didn't work well, either, and I began having episodes of incontinence and urgency again. It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.
Avatar f tn I have had total bladdure failure and have taken Detrol and Ditropan with no good result. I am seeing the ururologist tomorrow and am worried that he will chalk this up to MS and tell me to live with it. Have any of you experienced this? Are there other remedies out there for this? I dont want to live with this, making me very upset. I appreciate it and thanks.
Avatar n tn Hi, You can ask your doctor to prescribe some antispasmodics, such as Ditropan, for relieving the bladder spasms. If the spasms are under control even the frequency will decrease to a considerable extent. Additionally, you can also request prescription for some low-dose sedatives, maybe from the benzodiazepine group, to get you through the first week or so. Do not continue the sedatives longer than 10-12 days as they have the potential to cause dependence.
Avatar f tn s syndrome). He takes Ditropan daily and self-catheterizes five times a day. We are interested in finding out more about biofeedback. Does anyone have any experience with or information on biofeedback for on neurogenic neurogenic bladder?
Avatar f tn My LDL is 223 and before 222. when taking toprol XL 50-75 mg. My cholesterol is 177 when I am not on antihypertensive drugs. Is there any documentation that proves Toprol XL can elevate cholesteral levels. Thank you, Sandra Smigielski R.N. Avatar n tn She does take Detrophen XL frequently. I am not sure if it has any effect or she is just not satisfied with me. Any real advice, please? Thanks in advance!
Avatar f tn My pharmacacy switched my "Toprol XL 50 mg" to a Generic one called "Metoprolol Succinate ER 50 mg" (manufactured by Sandoz) in December 2007. I have been on some form of Beta Blockers for years and I thought nothing of it. Within a week I was at my eye doctor because my left eye went from 20/20 to 20/60 and was so blurry that I felt like I had suntan lotion or something in it. Since then I have been to so many doctors because things just kept getting worse.
728480 tn?1312059930 Im in therapy which is good. Is there anyway of getting of medication especially effexor xl even if i was sectioned to be put on it?
Avatar m tn I have taken 50 mgs of toprol XL for 12-13 years. It is a very safe and a good medication in my opinion. The XL means that it has an Extended Life .. in other words one pill is supposed work for at least 24 hours i think... but anyway... I dont know why the doc would say just use it when your rate is fast.. if you took one a day ....your heart rate should stay pretty regular Id think.. but Im not a doctor... I dont really know about taking it occassionally... doesnt make alot of sense to me..
250398 tn?1225263291 52 year old male. I have BPH and am on meds (Proscar and Cardura XL). My urine is dark yellow/gold and has a strong oder like yeast/wheat and foams a lot in the toilet. Cause for concern? Any ideas? Thanks for any insight.
214864 tn?1229715239 Some of you may know about this, but this information is very important. This is probably the most prescribed beta blocker on the market. I would contact my prescribing doctor immediately if you take this generic form - Metoprolol Succinate ER. ======================================================== Latest News: FDA Finds Fault with Generic Toprol XL -- Problems Reported Earlier by ConsumerLab.com (Date Posted: 8/28/2008) On August 12, 2008, the U.S. FDA sent a letter to Sandoz Inc.

Avatar m tn I had an echocardiogram a few months ago which showed a slightly stiff heart. The cardiologist does not give me much information, but does not seem to concerned even though my pvc's are much more frequent now. Can anyone give me more insight to this problem. I take medecine for high blood pressure. Lotrel, hydrochlorathiazide. I was on metropolol for a while, but could not stand the tiredness it caused. It did not help with the pvc's either.
Avatar f tn Coreg can make a person feel extremely tired and loss of energy. Coreg is the best beta blocker as it blocks more receptors than Tropol XL. There is a medication that is being used in Europe that hopefully will be here in the US soon. It is a combination of Coreg and Tropol XL, I believe. This gives all the benefits of Coreg and reduces the tiredness that people complain about. Our relatives in Europe use the medication and have energy to travel to US and all around the states.
Avatar n tn She has been on Detrol and prior Ditropan, neither helps at all. She has no trouble emptying bladder and does have quite a bit of urine when she goes to bathroom. There is mild incontinence. She is home and independent with good recovery from the stroke. She lives alone. Prior to stroke she was on estrogen for several decades. She is 85 years old. Is this from lingering neurological complications? Will this improve with time?
Avatar f tn HI, Your problem sounds like overactive bladder. This is a bladder problem that is driven by urgency. The constant urge to void causes you to urinate frequently, usually causes you to get up at night to void, and about a third of patients have urge incontinence. It's not uncommon to see patients complain of this problem happening life long. The other problem that can cause your symptoms is Interstitial Cystitis (IC).
Avatar n tn i took a overdose of concerta xl and prozac and meltonin abour a month and half ago and now i am getting slight pains on my left sife in my breast bone any advise thanks
Avatar f tn I am currently taking 50 mg a day Toporol XL for Pac's. My Primary Care Physcian wants to increase my dosage to 100 mg per day. (double dosage). I also have Sinus Tachycardia which is under control with medications. My concern is that doubling my medication could lower the heart rate too much and cause serious problems. I was told it would have to be doubled since the tablets are 50 mg each. Is there any other solution or medication that comes in a lower dosage for this problem?
Avatar n tn On Aug. 16, 08 I took my 3yr old daughter in because she said her pee hurts. After doing a urinalysis it showed that she had an elevated wbc so they put her on amoxicillen she remained on that for 10 days. On the 7th day of the amox. she went back to have a repeat urinalysis when those test results came back it showed that the amox. wasn't working. So the Dr. prescribed Septra on Aug.25th She remained on that for 10 days. On the fourth day off the Septra the "bad pee" was back.
Avatar f tn My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...
722467 tn?1231360966 hi i suffer from depression, anxiety, agraphobia . i was put on efexor xl 75mg by my doctor i havent takin it yet im is it a good drug should i it , i was only ever on lexapro and xanax for few days and felt like killin myself any advice would be great!!!
Avatar n tn We brought him to a pediatric urologist who did a UA/CS and it came back negative, and then we did a voiding sonogram of the bladder and kidney sonograms...all negative. We put him on Ditropan 10mg. for a month and it didn't help with the frequency or urgency. Is this new symptom falling into what would be considered Tourette's, or OCD, or Pulchuria (probably spelt it wrong) or maybe something else? If anyone has any information to share, I would really appreciate it.
