ditropan xl generics

I have started Ditropan XL 5mg HS without any change in the droplets. Any ideas as to what I should or could try next? My urologist thinks my sxs are overactive bladder. How can this be resolved?

There is also Elavil a low dose tricyclic antidepressant that takes away pain if you have alot of pain and drugs like ditropan xl which relax the bladder and cut down on frequency/urgency/some discomfort and pain. I think a combination of these drugs usually gives people quite a bit of relief and also following the IC diet which you'll find at that website too. I don't think I have IC but probably overactive bladder and the ditropan xl has helped alot!

Do you take 50mg at once or 25mg twice a day of the Atenolol? Brand name Tenormin is best as the different generics of Atenolol vary somewhat. My mom took Atenolol and then the pharmacy switched generics to the Atenolol brand. This threw her into heart failure and into the hospital. She had to take the brand name Tenormin and then she felt much better until her heart failure advanced. Then, she took Toprol XL which is like Tenormin, but stays at a constant level throughout the day.

I have read many posts on this forum where users indicate that switching from Toprol XL to metoprolol er still report having problems. The generics are not always as good as the brand name ones. For example, I took the TEVA's generic version of Tenormin (atenolol), but when I switched to MYLAN's generic Tenormin, I had the most vivid dreams ever. The generic drugs are not always as good.

I just discovered this after 3 months of total misery, 7 different doctors, multiple tests, 1 hospitalization, 16 pound weight loss, almost lost my job, etc., etc., etc.. I want to know if this will have permanent effects on my body and heart and will I ever be the same again. I still don't feel 100% and have been back on the brand TOPROL XL for 9 days now.

I found out through experimentation years ago that none of the generics worked - it used to be Toprol XL - except when I found them actually made by the original manufacturer and sold as Metoprolol.

I don't think Metoprolol makes them worse. What I have seen on myself, however, is that it doesn't work at all. I took up to 50 mg a day. I switched temporarily now to Toprol XL to see if that's the answer since the generics seem to have no effect.

My pharmacacy switched my "Toprol XL 50 mg" to a Generic one called "Metoprolol Succinate ER 50 mg" (manufactured by Sandoz) in December 2007. Sometimes you have to be a little careful with generics. I had issues and became quite ill when I switched from Toprol XL to a generic. All issues resolved after discontinuing the generic. FDA did find some substandard practices with the company manufacturing the generic. This is what I found after some research: FDA regulations require generics to have the same active ingredients, be bioequivalent, and have a high purity.

It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.

I have had total bladdure failure and have taken Detrol and Ditropan with no good result. I am seeing the ururologist tomorrow and am worried that he will chalk this up to MS and tell me to live with it. Have any of you experienced this? Are there other remedies out there for this? Hi, You can ask your doctor to prescribe some antispasmodics, such as Ditropan, for relieving the bladder spasms. If the spasms are under control even the frequency will decrease to a considerable extent. Additionally, you can also request prescription for some low-dose sedatives, maybe from the benzodiazepine group, to get you through the first week or so. Do not continue the sedatives longer than 10-12 days as they have the potential to cause dependence.

Concerta is generic so it throws a monkey wrench into this but you could try to work with the original manufacturer of brand name concerta. Otherwise, generics are typically not as dreadfully expensive. Are there any job opportunities on the horizen that offer insurance? good luck (make sure you are seeng a psychiatrist for your comorbid conditions).

My husband also has irregular heart rate and this week we got him switched back from generic metoprolol succinate to toprol XL and lo and behold he is back in good heart rhythm. That got me thinking if indeed my problem could be similiar.......one thing that has really upset me is that after my heart attack my EF was at 42% and it has dropped to 30% and again wonder if I need to be on diferent drugs. My dr thinks that isn't the answer but I'm not sure...... Any thoughts?

She does take Detrophen XL frequently. I am not sure if it has any effect or she is just not satisfied with me. Any real advice, please? Thanks in advance!

Once at the hospital I was injected with adenosine (extremely unpleasant by the way), which only worsened the situation. Eventually, I was injected with toprol XL, which over the next 20 minutes decreased my heart rate to approximately 100 bpm. The constant urge to void causes you to urinate frequently, usually causes you to get up at night to void, and about a third of patients have urge incontinence. It's not uncommon to see patients complain of this problem happening life long. The other problem that can cause your symptoms is Interstitial Cystitis (IC).
