There is also Elavil a low dose tricyclic antidepressant that takes away pain if you have alot of pain and drugs like ditropan xl which relax the bladder and cut down on frequency/urgency/some discomfort and pain. I think a combination of these drugs usually gives people quite a bit of relief and also following the IC diet which you'll find at that website too. I don't think I have IC but probably overactive bladder and the ditropan xl has helped alot!
Hi, if you are excreting the tablets as such it means you are not digesting the tablets. You will need to consult your doctor to rule out malabsorption syndromes. Blood tests will help detect infections, besides stool examination which will reveal fat malabsorption. Bacterial overgrowth is tested with a breath test. Flomax was added the following year, which again worked for awhile, but the symptoms returned after 6 months or so. I have had total bladdure failure and have taken Detrol and Ditropan with no good result. I am seeing the ururologist tomorrow and am worried that he will chalk this up to MS and tell me to live with it. Have any of you experienced this? Are there other remedies out there for this? You can ask your doctor to prescribe some antispasmodics, such as Ditropan, for relieving the bladder spasms. If the spasms are under control even the frequency will decrease to a considerable extent.
Additionally, you can also request prescription for some low-dose sedatives, maybe from the benzodiazepine group, to get you through the first week or so. Do not continue the sedatives longer than 10-12 days as they have the potential to cause dependence.
I have taken Toprol xl 25 mg for about 5 years. My doctor switched me to metoprolol several months ago. When I filled my prescription this time, it was from a different mfg and I think I may be having problems with it as I just don't feel right. Could changing the mfg make a difference? ALSO, my doctor prescribed 50 mg to be cut in half for my prescribed 25 mg dose. Does cutting this tablet in half compromise the time release?
I have taken 50 mgs of toprol XL for 12-13 years. It is a very safe and a good medication in my opinion. The XL means that it has an Extended Life .. in other words one pill is supposed work for at least 24 hours i think... but anyway... I dont know why the doc would say just use it when your rate is fast.. if you took one a day ....your heart rate should stay pretty regular Id think.. but Im not a doctor... I dont really know about taking it occassionally... doesnt make alot of sense to me..
I am currently taking 50 mg a day Toporol XL for Pac's. My Primary Care Physcian wants to increase my dosage to 100 mg per day. (double dosage). I also have Sinus Tachycardia which is under control with medications.
My concern is that doubling my medication could lower the heart rate too much and cause serious problems. I was told it would have to be doubled since the tablets are 50 mg each. Is there any other solution or medication that comes in a lower dosage for this problem?
She does take Detrophen XL frequently. I am not sure if it has any effect or she is just not satisfied with me. Any real advice, please? Thanks in advance!
For several years now I've been taking Remeron, Paroxitine, Wellbutrin XL and Lithium; everything is at the top dosage. Only the Wellbutrin and Lithium I take during the day. These drops have been going on for quite some time, but now are the very worst they have been.
Last year I had to quit a part time job because of this and got on the sub list. Mornings are my best times til 9:30am, I push myself thru chores and if I do go to work I pray that is only for 3.5hrs.
The Hyperhydrosis can be treated with Ditropan or its generic. A colleague took this on an as needed basis during stressful instances and he said it worked well. HI, Your problem sounds like overactive bladder. This is a bladder problem that is driven by urgency. The constant urge to void causes you to urinate frequently, usually causes you to get up at night to void, and about a third of patients have urge incontinence. It's not uncommon to see patients complain of this problem happening life long. The other problem that can cause your symptoms is Interstitial Cystitis (IC).
There are XP versions, and XL versions. The difference is in the release time. Have you looked this up on the internet? 2 tablets of 37.5 will do for the 75mg, until you see doctor. You are on quite a large dosage, so I suppose not taking the 75mg gives you withdrawal symptoms. I think someone else will have to explain if there is harm in taking XL and XP together. I shouldn't have thought so in the short term. Ask your doctor all these questions when you see them.
On Aug. 16, 08 I took my 3yr old daughter in because she said her pee hurts. After doing a urinalysis it showed that she had an elevated wbc so they put her on amoxicillen she remained on that for 10 days. On the 7th day of the amox. she went back to have a repeat urinalysis when those test results came back it showed that the amox. wasn't working. So the Dr. prescribed Septra on Aug.25th She remained on that for 10 days. On the fourth day off the Septra the "bad pee" was back.
My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...
hi been on venlalic xl 75mg for twelve days been was on citalapam for six weeks plus diazapam 5mg and proproponal and sleeping tablets for two weeks only on venlalic now lost appetite but comeing back slowly am sleeping without sleepers and much better but still find hard to get out of bed and want better sleep also have headaches am going out and hpe to go back to work soon any advice also lost sex drive and feelings towards people but am controling panick attacks ellen age fifty two
I have been on this combination for 6+ years and doing pretty well with them. In May 2008 I was started on Toprol XL 25 mg. It worked for my blood pressure and lowered it but it also made my depression worse and I finally went to my doctor to get off of them. I am now weaning off of the Toprol XL. I am on the second day of 12.5mg and I can't tell you how bad I have felt all day. Extreme anxiety and jittery. I CANNOT wait for this drug to be out of my system.
