diflucan

1369218 tn?1282423884 I was on nystatin for 6 weeks and then took diflucan for a week and even did an oral nystatin for 7 days. I have just been to my regular doc and wondering if a dentist would be more helpful with this. Are there any over the counter remedies I can do too? Thanks!!
Avatar n tn What was your risk ? When was your last risk? Generally, if the Diflucan or Nystatin does NOT work on your thrush, it's NOT thrush. Oral thrush is fairly common in many HIV negative individuals. Thrush does NOT equal HIV. HIV can NOT be diagnosed by ANY symptoms or lack of. You need to test 3 months after your LAST possible exposure ( unprotected anal/vaginal sex, IV drug use). Antibiotics are known to worsen oral thrush.
1435895 tn?1304291241 When I had thrush I actually got more than the typical 1 pill of DIFLUCAN, in fact I think I had more than 6 pills....so I could take them over time. I all depends on how badly u have the infection or thrush .
Avatar m tn You can try some saltwater gargles and probiotics. If your thrush persists, call your doctor for some Diflucan.
674021 tn?1295489762 My 3 week old got thrush and his pedi prescribes Nysatin for him,ut after taking it for 3 days it seems like no progress has been made and it also makes him throw up. My mom told me about Gentian violet and I was wondering if any of you guy's ever used it on ur newborns?
Avatar n tn Candida albicans. However, we were told thrush is commomly found in newborns, infants and the elderly. Only a doctor can tell you if your nine-year old son has it. Good luck.
Avatar n tn There are many things that can cause thrush. If your condom broke for sure get tested at your 3 month mark. Intill then try not to over antalize it. Because some internet sites will say even a hang nail is a ARS symptom.
Avatar f tn No thrush is not one of the first symptoms you get. Thrush is not HIV specific. Anyone can get thrush at any time.
1299678 tn?1327315957 I am aware that thrush is very common in pregnancy, however Im struggling with it really bad. I do all the right things, natural yoghurt, cotton underwear, avoid bathing for too long and only wash that area with Aqueous cream. Also had cream prescribed by doctor to help and nothing is working. Im going to go back to Doc and see if there's anything else they can do but just wondered if anyone else suffered or is suffering with this during pregnancy and if they found anything that helped??
2118271 tn?1337463104 What else can I take for resistant thrush if that is what it is? I take a high probiotic count, and I am suspicious i am allergic to diary ever since I had C. Diff (I get blotchy skin on my stomach when i consume dairy now) otherwise I would down Kefir like no tomorrow. Please help! I want this yeast to stay away, but it appears to be extremely resistant.
1472764 tn?1287588186 There have been a few reports of multiple, serious birth defects in infants whose mothers took Diflucan in early pregnancy (usually high doses for an extended period of time). Because the birth defects were distinctive and similar in these cases, it is assumed that the medication probably caused the defects. However, statistics generally do indicate that short-term use (such as the single dose used to treat vaginal yeast infections) does not seem to cause such problems.
Avatar f tn Yes, I'm on diflucan for thrush. I got it from Symbicort for asthma...it has an inhaled steroid in it. I was on antibiotics a month ago for a sinus infection and strep throat, so that probably contributed to my getting it. It's starting to go away...it doesn't hurt as much and not as many white fuzzy spots :) Ho, Ho, Ho!
Avatar f tn They are raised spots and cannot be wiped away. Was treated for thrush with several different medication. finally sent to ENT where they found I had chronically infected adenoids. ENT felt that the tongue was underlying reason because of the infection how ever been on antibiotics for 5 days and still have spots. Any thoughts on what else it could be?
Avatar f tn So about 2 months ago I had an outbreak and learned I had general herpes. One month ago I developed oral thrush. I have taken a suspension, diflucan, and lozenge and the thrush is not improving. I was concerned there could be something larger wrong since the herpes and thrush issues started. I got a CBC, thyroid, blood sugar, mono and strep test- all results fine. My doctor wants me to go to the ENT next. I had my annual in April and hiv test was negative...
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been dealing with thrush since the end of September 2014. I have tried to nystatin a couple of times plus difulcan 150mg for 7 days over and over since the end of September and I am currently on diflucan 100mg for 30 days since January 29, 2015. I am about done with that and it is still there..I can't get it to clear up.
1947337 tn?1331423890 Call ur Dr and they will most likely RX DIFLUCAN.....u can get Thrush from being intubated and getting a scratch in ur throat....... I had it after ankle surgery....and got on the meds right away and it took care of it... 1070570 tn?1283436213 Hello! I am a 23 yr old female with hypothyroidism, CFS, chronic EBV, and chronic sinusitis. I've been feeling really badly for the past 3 months and my doctor has just decided to treat me for possible yeast overgrowth based on the recurring sinusitis, vaginal infections, white tongue, etc that I have.
487124 tn?1256654549 t seem to recognise the problem or standard treatment - she is only treating the vaginal thrush (but still not successfully). I just got told no way to suggesting a daily treatment regime for diflucan for at least 2 weeks (or until no symptoms for 1 week) posted on the la leche breastfeeding website about treatment for ductal (within the milk ducts of the breast) thrush.
Avatar f tn Okay I've had yellow discahrge and burning since last July. I've been tested for STI's all were negative. Well last Friday my girlfriend took me to the hospital because of the burning and the pain the hospital tested for trich yeast gonherra and chlymidia. They said it was all negative and sent me home. Well I went to my gyno Tuesday and she checked me for yeast and said I had a horrible yeast infection that I had to have for months.

Avatar f tn m not exactly sure of how it came about or how common it is in infants but I know that if you go to a health food store and buy probiotics for infants, it usually helps with thrush. I've had thrush in my mouth as a teenager and I can tell you it was the WORST!! It's soo painful, so if your baby is very uncomfortable then you know why. I hope it clears up fast! If you are breastfeeding, I think that helps it go away quicker too!
Avatar m tn About 2 months later, another doc put me on antibiotics for several weeks. It was at this time that my small case of thrush became a full blown monster. Since then, I have been on ketoconazole 3x, I am currently finishing my 3rd cycle that has lasted nearly 1 month. I have gone through 2x 10day nystatin suspension every 4-6 hours (while on ketoconazole). I started taking acidophillus pills, garlic pills, apple cider vinegar pills, rinsing with organic apple cider vinegar.
Avatar f tn ve notice serious pain and tenderness in my personal areas. I am not so sure if it has any direct relations, but I do notice that I have some odor issues and discharge. Can someone please help!!!
Avatar f tn I have had weekly thrush infections for over three years now and have yet to find out exactly why this keeps recurring. My tongue has been cultured, and the coating was found to be Candida albicans. I've been to quite a few doctors, including ENT, infectious disease, allergy, and gastroenterology specialists. Not one of them can offer me any advice on how to rid myself of this painful illness, except for advising me to use antifungals on a regular basis.
Avatar f tn Does this sound like thyroid to you and do you know why i would keep getting oral thrush? I have been treated many times with diflucan for vaginal yeast but the oral didn't devlop until after 7 months of flagyl, 2 steroid shots, ashtama inhlaer and bactrium treatment. Now it won't go away with diflucan treatment.
