diflucan dosage treatment

I am just wanting advice from anyone that has done an antifungal treatment. The main thing I am wanting to know is what was used, for how long, in what dosage and what the die-off effects were. We are looking at S. Boulardi, Nystatin, Diflucan as our main options. Thank you for any help.

What is the usual dosage for treatment of toenail fungus with Diflucan? My doctor prescribed it to me and it just seems to be different than normal. He said to take 100 mg/daily for the first 10 days of each month until it's gone. Is that a normal regimen?

They didnt want me to talk diflucan that early. I am the same way as u. Nothing works but diflucan for me. so i know how u feel.

Hi...candida is yeast and it can cause all types of issues...DIFLUCAN is one of the best meds I know to help rid someone of excess yeast. There r also diet changes that can also help..... I am prone to yeast infections when taking antibiotics, and DIFLUCAN is the only thing that helps. As far as dosage, sorry I can not help...I would suggest asking a Pharmacist as they know meds and interaction and reactions better then most drs.

m currently treating a vaginal yeast infection and was wondering what your experiences were with Diflucan? How long does a typical yeast infection last? The itching and burning have subsided, and I took my first diflucan pill Sunday (doc gave me 4). I'm also using Vagisil for itching and irritated skin! Thanks!

I am glad you asked this question. I am 9 yrs out from transplant and every time I have to go on an antibiotic (like for a UTI) I end up getting something else from the antibiotic. Right now, following 10 days of antibiotics for a UTI (Cipro) I have very bad thrush and am now on my 3rd bottle of Nystatin swish and swallow and have seen NO improvement at all. I am going to ask my dr for the mycelex troches when I see him this week. Good Luck to you.

I am unable to eat much fruit or vegetables with high sugar content. I am currently being treated with Diflucan and Cipro for an existing yeast problem. I am taking Diflucan for 30 days and Cipro for 10 days. This will give me some relief for about three or four months and then I will need to treat the problem again. Questions: Should I change the Diflucan/Cipro time schedule or try different drugs? Any other suggestion would be very much appreciated.

Hello! I am a 23 yr old female with hypothyroidism, CFS, chronic EBV, and chronic sinusitis. I've been feeling really badly for the past 3 months and my doctor has just decided to treat me for possible yeast overgrowth based on the recurring sinusitis, vaginal infections, white tongue,etc that I have.

I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.

My grandson is in remission. He is taking two probiotics and keeps to a strict diet. Related, but not Crohn's, I was suffering from systemic candidiasis. My lungs were most affected, but my digestion was also problematic. Quite by chance I started taking small doses of Lugol's solution for a different purpose. I found the symptoms of candidiasis were ameliorated. I raised the dosage of Lugol's by increments, my condition improving steadily.

This is the last night of the 3 day treatment kit. I have applied the cream and I'm still experiencing quite a bit of pain from the itching and burning. I can't sleep. Is there anything I can take to help with the pain? I'm afraid ill have to call out of work to get to a doctor, this is unbearable. Please help!

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. Diflucan can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

No really recommended, but it helps eating plain yogurt or even apply it external helps treating yeast (candida) infection. Diflucan/Fluconazole is still your best bet. Plain Yogurt is the super sour tasting one with no sugar. Sugar helps those bacterias to grow, so stay away from the sweet stuff..

u may want to ask ur dr about this possibility and get a med called DIFLUCAN to help rid u of the yeast....and if so u will want to get the DIFLUCAN every time u get an antibiotic rx.

If the 10 days of Diflucan doesn't kick the fungal infection, it may need longer treatment. Also eliminating or at least limiting yeasty foods (bread) and high-sugar foods (fruit, some vegetables) could help. Hang in there!

Why do you split your T4 dosage into 2 dosages? This is usually done only with T3 meds. What filler is being used in your compounded thyroid meds?

I have contracted trichiamonas from my partner, and we were both treated with a 2g dose of metronidazole. Is it stil normal to have irritation and itching after treatment?? We have not had sex, and I am worried that it is not cured, plus I have been giving a 150mg dose of Diflucan.

I'm actually using the 3 day monistat treatment right now lol. It's safe to use. If anything I think its safer than the one day pill antibiotic they prescribe for yeast infections called Diflucan.

I went to urgent care for treatment and was given diflucan and it didnt put a dent in it, so I went back. I was given more diflucan and it didnt do anything. I have a discolored red spot on the shaft of my penis, I have taken keteconozol and diflucan in the past for short periods of time and they have gotten rid of this. Now my doctor put me on 200MG of Keteconozol for 8 weeks at 200mg dosage. I have been taking them now for two weeks, how long will it take this to go away? .

that is what I used with my first pregnancy. You cannot take diflucan/fluconazole (pills) but you can use OTC insertables...such as monistat or a store brand.

I been taking diflucan pills and using cream proscibed by my doc.the last yeast infection I had they gave me the seven day treatment...u been done taking the but last I had sex with mii faince n when I when to the restroom it burned for me to pee ...I thought that was over with bc that the problem I been having but now the yeast is gne I didn't think this should be happening.... after taking the meds I waited over a week to have sex ....WHATS THE BIG DEAL WITH THIS AM FED UP WITH IT ..

Thank you for your remarks, Dr. Santos. I am finishing a 2 week treatment of Diflucan, and the white stuff does not seem to want to go away. I have discovered that I can brush all of it off with my toothbrush at night, and in the morning there is none there. It seems to accumulate when I eat only, so I try to brush after I eat, which is not always feasible. The fact that this stuff hasn't changed an ounce since using Nystatin or Diflucan, makes me think this is not candida.

The GP gave me a RX for Diflucan. I took that much earlier tonite. I just happened to read the Prescription info sheet & it has Xanax as an interacting drug but it doesnt say how. I tried googling and cant see why it shouldnt be taken.. I did see where under Xanax it says one of the drugs to avoid is Diflucan. Why would an antifungal med interact with a sedative? Now im all worried bc i cant call the pharmacy until they open in the am. Does anyone know what interaction this might be?

I'm starting my 2nd phase of treatment getting off some of my current medicines and adding some new ones. My LLMD started treating me first for Babs, and Lyme but we are starting treatment for Bart. I'm little neverous reading the side effects some of the medicine.. Levofloxacian the waring that scares me is the increase risk of tendon problems that included pain, swelling, inflamation and possible breakage..Did many of you experience any of these side effects???

My wife suffered over 10 years with intestal problem (deverticulites) they even priscribed her treatment for worms,I suffered shortness of breath and slight chest pain,after 6 months of tests, result, nothing wrong with you!!! The monistat may not be strong enough for you. You may have to go to a Gyn and get diflucan and kill the yeast infection. It stays in your system for seven days and you'll be sure to get rid of the yeast. Symptoms usually go away within the 24 hrs after taking the antibiotic pill. Its a 1 dose.
