Avatar f tn I have had neuropathy for the last 9 years. I have been to many many doctors without help I have tried all the normal meds I've been on opiates for the last several years they change my medicine and I am in uncontrolled pain for days or weeks until it is actually controlled. I have changed my diet done several different things I did find out in the past year that I am a diabetic. The first eight years I did not have diabetes.
Avatar f tn But, the problem never went away. I can not stand for more 2-3 mins, walking is a bit easier. The longer I stand the worse it get. I describe the pain as be bruised by hammers continuously hitting my heal. Even then the pain can get worse, it can get to the point where it feels like my bones have turned to glass and every step feels like they are shattering all the way up my spine.
Avatar f tn my husband bought me a pair of those really tight (really ugly) diabetic socks to wear at night. They did bring me relief. Legs still kicked some but didnt have that constant dull ache. Might help???
Avatar f tn He has to have something to do all the time and his doing usually creates work for me. I am 65, diabetic, on antidepressants, and high blood pressure medicaiton. The stress that this constant conflict is creating is not healthing for me or for my grandson, but I don't know what to do at this point. I know that the way I am reacting isn't helping the situation but I don't know how to stop as he becomes more demanding and disrespectful. He is in counseling but I don't see how it is helping.

Avatar n tn put something jelly-like or sticky on the tips of your socks so the moment you reach for your toes you are suprised to feel something strange. You just need to start noticing when you are doing it. for me I keep neosporin on my scars and the moment I reach for one and feel the neosporin I realize I am doing it. Hope this helped!
Avatar m tn Robert Menendez and Frank Lautenberg -- each had appealed to the FDA on ReGen's behalf, according to accounts last year from Rothman and spokesmen for the three others. In a statement Thursday, the FDA said it is taking steps to revoke Menaflex's approval, although it also plans to meet with the company to discuss what data would be needed to prove the device is actually safe and effective. An FDA spokesman said the agency has revoked device approvals before, although the step is rare.
Avatar f tn Sounds somewhat like my son about a year ago My son did a the "screaming when I pick him up" thing at daycare a year or so ago - whenever dad picked him up he would bring a treat/take him to have ice-cream....so he would demand dad to pick him up at all times....In fact in the beginning of school year he asked his teacher whether his dad will be picking him up - and when teacher said it will be me - he threw a tremendous tantrum. When I picked him up he was happy and smiling and fine.
Avatar n tn Or that private school is for everyone, or even affordable for most families. And sometimes you're stuck with public school because they're the only ones who will provide support for special needs kids (whether it's autism, verbal apraxia, dyslexia, ADHD, physical handicaps, etc). I just remember hating school so much as a child. So did my siblings. I'm afraid my daughter will have problems and hate school too, though I think we'll probably give it a shot.
Avatar n tn For those of you who have young children that suffer with this, i really feel for you because I know how frustrating it can be for you because my parents actually used to get angry with me because it would ruin many a day out with the family. But please understand this, when your child is screaming and panicking with this they are not exaggerating! I too have had many tests and the odd half baked diagnosis but it still remains a mystery to me.

Avatar f tn Thanks for using the forum. I am happy to address your questions, and my answer will be based on the information you provided here. Please make sure you recognize that this forum is for educational purposes only, and it does not substitute for a formal office visit with your doctor. It sounds like your son has been having symptoms of pins and needles in his extremities and an EMG that was myopathic.
Avatar n tn I normally have these blisters 2-3 times a year a for a period of about one a half weeks. I have been to the doctors office many times but they are not able to give me a reason for them. Would anyone know what may be the cause. A food allergic reaction perhaps? I noticed that someone had asked the same question in September of 1999 on this forum. The way he describes the blisters is exactly how i get them. Please advise if you have any idea as to what is causing my blisters.

I stick with it because I can remember what it was like to be in the FOG of TRAM, to walk into a room, and forget why I was there, I stick with it because I would rather not get killed on my motorcycle from being too fogged to care what I was doing.

551343 tn?1506834118 I forgot to mention in my previous post that i also have small fiber neuropathy, peripheral neuropathy, meralgia paresthetica...and i am not a diabetic. I've been tested for amyloidosis as well. I have an abnormal brain MRI with numerous areas of white matter hyperintensities. I know there has to be a vascular component as my fingers have been turning deep purple & going numb. And lately i have been very short of breath very quickly. Anyone else have a similar story???
Avatar n tn I wasn't ready to just treat the symptoms and live with it so I went to an Internist who took me off birth control pills thinking it could be hormones but the swelling continued. She then sent me for a venous doppler test which also came back normal. She is sending me for an untrasound of the heart tomorrow. If the heart tests come back normal what else could be causing this unexplained swelling? It is only in the left foot/ankle and pitts for about 30 seconds when pushed on.
Avatar n tn The itch and tingling are so bad that I feel like I'm going crazy. I cannot take care of my children or get ready for work because I am sitting on the bed crying and scratching my legs. I wish I had four hands instead of only two!. There are no bumps or marks and NOTHING makes it stop. My doctor gave me allergy meds and prescription cortisone cream. It didn't help at all. I thought maybe I was getting shingles. I am calling the neurologist this morning and getting an appt.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy and have had symptoms of burning in my feet for 3 years and my lower legs for 2 years. I also have severe joint pain and would like to know if neuropathy can cause joint pain too. Also I am experiencing what feels like bad muscle aches in the thighs - could this be the neuropathy spreading and how do I know if this is the case? One other question can neuropathy come in conjuction with other things such as fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am a 25 year old female that has been battling with scalp folliculitis for the past 2.5 years. I have been on Bactrim DS for several years now for acne, I would say since 2005, but I developed scalp folliculitis in approximately Feb. 2008. I have tried every shampoo imaginable, prescription & non prescription (tar-based, salicylic acid, sulfur, sodium sulfacetamide, zinc, ketoconazole, salicyclic acid AND sulfur combined, hypoallergenic, selenium sulfide).
Avatar n tn Aidan wasn't agressive on the prozac, he didnt become aggressive until they started him on the higher dose of Concerta and I know that stimulants can make children with any form of Autism agreessive and angry...which was a huge red flag for me. Aidan does have a younger sister, she was born 2 months before his dad left for Iraq.
Avatar f tn The only side affect I have had from the meds my herbalist has put me on is my life is better, I sleep better, smell better (which isn't always great), hear better and my mood and attitude are better, which my husband and children are very thankful for! I do from time to time have tingling in my hands, but that just tells me to go to the chiropractor and have my neck adjusted (I have a pinched nerve in my neck) and the tingling is gone before I walk out of the office.
Avatar f tn First off, I am a diabetic and work from home. I have noticed certain variables that may or may not be the cause for these severe chills with no fever: - I usually am tired or have not slept well the previous night - I not hungry in the morning and have not eaten - my blood glucose is not controlled during the episode...rising on it's own. The chills usually occur a few hours after I awake and last about 2-4 hours. I will lay back, cover up and use a heating pad in order to get warm.
Avatar n tn Because this happens to people and not for the color. The body doesn't sweat from colors. It sweats because colored socks are polyester or have plenty in them. All cotton colored socks fade and get pilly. And white socks are mostly cotton or at least 80% cotton, and absorb what little sweat 2-20% polyester makes one sweat. Or do your feet sweat or itch a lot from the shoes? These are reactions that come and go. But one thing is for sure folks. Plastic allergy is very real.
Avatar m tn I actually feel worse. The weight gain has put me borderline diabetic and I have now been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease stage III. I look back, I can remember my symptoms starting in 2005. My family has no hypo history, only hyperthyroidism. In 2005 I bought a new computer with a 17" CRT monitor. I use a computer alot. I noticed my eyes getting burnt. They would swell and the surrounding skin would be beet red and dry wrinkled.
