Avatar n tn I've been telling her all winter to wear long sleeves and socks. Now, she is. Here is a good link with more info so you can see if it is what you are experiencing: http://www.podiatryvic.com.au/Public/Facts2.
Avatar n tn Every since Early sept.I've noticed pressure in my temple, which then turned out to be later after 1 week to be sinusitis.(Clinical Diagnosis) Nothing Showed up on x-ray and MRI w/contrrast after pleading with the doc for some additional testing. 3 1/2 weeks of antibiotics, two diff kinds. before antibiotics came some blurred vision with pain behind my eyes and drying of the eyes, and a feeling of a heavy head.
Avatar f tn I believe gabapentin caused my feet to slightly swell to where I use diabetic socks to keep from cutting off circulation and getting cold feet. My vision changes anytime the dosage of gabapentin is changed, so I have had to update glasses almost every dosage change. Noticed certain fluorescent lights take time to adjust to, but can't say if it is connected to gaba.
Avatar m tn ) ) Reading these severity of YOUR symptoms makes much more sense to me in terms of Uthoffs, that is what I imagine when I hear MS related heat intolerance, however when the dr. asks, she's not specific (ie, do you have trouble with extreme temperatures? Well... Yea... bit doesn't everyone??) Is anyone familiar with possible circulation problems and heat intolerance?
Avatar n tn so, i went for an acupuncture followed by a massage.it was very comforting. he told me to sleep with socks on.I am also wearing bedroom slippers in the house, because the chinese believed that sometimes the 'water' from ground will rise up and enter your body, causing a lot of problems like this.ok..hope it helps. today is day 1 after 1st treatment...there is improvement and acupuncture doesnt hurt, no bleeding and is safe, provided u got the right doctor.
Avatar n tn A cool surface releaves the burning no end. I have wooden floors and walking aeound with no socks on is heaven in the worst times. The gingly feeling then went to the back of my hands and i got burning patches on my forearms. May only last an hour at a time. I now get the symptoms on the ankles, upper back and now and again on one side of my neck. Never all at once.
Avatar n tn It sweats because colored socks are polyester or have plenty in them. All cotton colored socks fade and get pilly. And white socks are mostly cotton or at least 80% cotton, and absorb what little sweat 2-20% polyester makes one sweat. Or do your feet sweat or itch a lot from the shoes? These are reactions that come and go. But one thing is for sure folks. Plastic allergy is very real. Although mild for most compared to other synthetics, or higher quality plastics.
Avatar f tn In the paper here t'day they busted a girl with a huge amount of Oxy's that she was selling to people. It seems to be the in thing in this town Dr. shopping and then they deal the meds out. I heard a lot about it while in jail and for most of these ppl it' their job! They said one bottle of 400 pills net about $7100.00 on the street. They need to start making some of these DRs accountable, it's just to easy for ppl to set up a buss.
Avatar m tn They ruled out diabetes, thyroid disease, autoimmune diseases, anti-inflammatory diseases. My family Dr. is treating it as neuropathy. However, after reading everyone's comments, I'm thinking it could very well be an extreme case of anxiety. I had my first attack in Sept. '07. My life has been very stressful since then. They say stress does crazy things to your body. I've been on different medications for nerve pain. None have worked. I have recently been put on Cymbalta.
Avatar n tn Dr looked in my eyes looking for any MS signs, could not see any problems. Was more worried about my anxiety about it. Has referred me for a nerve test. That would not necsassarily show MS , but after would refer to neurologist to put my mind at ease as getting very emotional about it. Test and results may take a few weeks, will let you guys know how i get on. Heat sensation is very random over my body, tingling, eye pain, shooting pains, ultra sensitivty on thighs from time to time.
393685 tn?1425816122 My thyroid was in disgusting shape apparently, per the surgeon, due to Hashimoto's thyroidits. I had a nodule that was cancerous though not as bad as the Dr expected. He did, however, remove a lot of lymph nodes. That made me nervous, but they all came back as reactive to the Hashi's and not cancerous. At this point they do not believe that the cancer has gone very far. He took my thymus as well. That was ok, I guess, as I didn't even know that I had one of those.
Avatar n tn Exactly the same symptoms here - I have Diabetes so the first thought was that my blood sugar was out of control so that I might be getting what is known as Diabetic Neuropathy, but after testing my A1c (glucose counts) it was found that was not the case. Since then, every time I mention it to my doctor I get the same response, take some Motrin, it will go away, etc.
Avatar n tn I went to various doctors and had all of the test listed above, all of which turned out to be negative. After being perplexed over this, and beginning to feel there was no hope. I did find comfort in knowing that the syptoms had a very indentifiable cause. Ciprofloaxacin 500 mg twice a day for 7 days. Even though im still "sick" believe it helps to know your not going crazy.
Avatar f tn is when i work out or run on treadmill i wear 3 pairs of socks..it reduces the shock... you will still feel the sensation but it wont be unbearable..try it...see if it work for u...
211940 tn?1267884866 I wrote about this on 1/28, I recently saw a Dr. again. This Dr. believes that I may have a pinched nerve in the neck which could be responsible for the pain in my right arm which also makes my hand and arm numb and swollen. She also told me to take 2 of the Vicoden every 4 hours at night (so I take it twice), I tried this and had the first painless night since this started almost a month ago. Problem is, I don't want to be on pain meds, I want the problem to go away.
387660 tn?1242600342 Hi, I am not sure who to direct this to. I too start falling asleep while driving. It really scares me! I have always even as a child found the car to be somewhat of a "comfort zone" for me in which I would fall asleep within minutes of being in the car. It seems as I have gotten older it has gotten worse. It's very strange because often times when I begin driving I am not tired at all.
530191 tn?1214166411 I have Hasimoto's thyroiditis, but during my FIRST bout w/ hives about 3 years ago, NOT ONE doctor (out of the 5 that I'd seen) made the connection between autoimmune thyroid trouble and hives. Thanks to this board, and Dr. Apama, I am better informed. As I said, I've been hive-free for three years, until last week. My allergist said I should take a Zyrtec at night and an Allegra in the morning. Thus far, they've done little, if anything at all, to mitigate my symptoms.
Avatar n tn So now every 6 months I end up having a radiologist read my mammos who says I need a biopsy. Then I ask Dr. Anderson, my preferred radiologist to read my mammos and he always feels the calcs are benign. My surgeon feels Dr. Anderson is more experienced and agrees that after 3 benign biopsies in that area my calcs are probably benign.
Avatar n tn It could either be post herpetic neuralgia from shingles or neuralgia from interstitial cystitis, an inflammatory disease of the bladder. Both can cause nerve pain in the thighs. I actually have both of those conditions and the pain can be extremely excruciating. I was given Neurontin which makes me depressed. Lyrica worked good but my insurance will only approve the neurontin. It makes me feel so low I would rather deal with the pain. Another thing to check into is fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn Candida is a nasty little form of yeast that actually feeds off the mercury and then reeks its own havoc throughout one's entire body. Dr. J. Trowbridge has written in his book "The Yeast Syndrome," that some doctors specializing in Candida treatment have reported to him that they have discovered clinically that 98% of their patients with chronic Candida also had mercury toxicity. As you can see, the relationship between these two things is highly symbiotic.

Avatar n tn I can soo relate. I have had to quit paxil "cold turkey". I only get pd once a month and the dr. wouldn't send me 15. (enough to last me til pay day) This is day 5! I have been sooooo sick. I have 5 kids at home and work with kids during the day. I have been on paxil for a year. At times I could break down and cry. While other times I am trying not to go into a rage. While the whole time being "sick as a dog." I wish I hadn't taken this drug at all. My dr.
Avatar n tn My doctor told me to go to the feed store and get a bag of sulfur. Then mix it with lotion and rub on the area that was bothering me. Also mix sulfur with shampoo and mild soap, and use in the shower. He said "we'll go back a hundred years". Made no sense to me, but I have comfort for the first time in a year. This was a dermatologist and I didn't believe what he told me, but it has actually helped. He said that lots of people go to the sulfur springs for the same reason.
Avatar n tn When I returned to my doctor after breaking out (the steroids were done) she prescribed another dose, gave me a shot and also told me I was diabetic. Just had to do more blood work and sent me home. I had no meds for being diabetic because she wanted to see the results of the A1C test. I got a glucose meter and started testing myself immediately. I had taken 3 does of the steroids at this time...when I did my blood sugar it was 268! It should be around 110.
Avatar n tn I have been to my family dr, surgical dr and to a specialist. The specialist runs the light down my throat. When he was done--you know what he said----THAT IT WAS PHANTOM PAINS---Don't think so. My husband knows that its not phantom pains because you can feel the knot that forms on the surface. I have to rub it down which takes about 20 sec. then i have this soreness for some time. You really feel like something is about to bust in there. I haven't had the nerve to go to another dr.
