Common Questions and Answers about Diabetes news years resolutions

diabetes

Avatar n tn T I have already been tested for celiac, lupus, lyme disease, R/A, all the heps and seems to be no fear of diabetes. All negative. I have been tested for Wilsons and the other heridtary liver disorders. Negative. Had a sono- all looked fine. The GGT (which she didn’t test for last time) came back high 168 (3-50) ESR, Westergren (not sure what that is) is 25 when it should be (0-20) Also the smooth muscle AB titer is positive 1:20 when it should be under 1:20 so it is just borderline.
1225178 tn?1318984204 So a heck of a shock to come back with good news for Hep B .... and shocking news on Hep C. My doc has always gone that extra measure and good he did.
317787 tn?1473362051 I remember reading others stories years ago about similar problems. While I understand that age has a lot to do with these things. I am interested in finding out what I can do to help myself. Due to my low platelets from cirrhosis I do not want to try surgery until I have exhausted everything else. i.e. does HCV cause a problem, or cirrhosis? Does tx aggravate these problems. Are there vitamins or supplements that we might be deficient in that might help? Does cirrhosis play a part?
Avatar n tn I have about six days. She tested my thyroid,2 diff pcos hormones, diabetes, male hormone, woman hormone and I think that is it. So when I get my results I will know and keep everyone posted. I too doubt that it is namely PCOS, I have always thought it was severe endo.
Avatar m tn I don't know your age but I am 31 years old and I have been taking opioids for chronic pain for about 6 years. I have been battling chronic pain for twice as long as I have been taking opioids to control the pain. There are many different techniques that can be deployed to ensure that you have adequate pain control for many years to come.
Avatar n tn I was also told that these symptoms occur in someone who's had diabetes for years. I don't have nodules in my feet, but I have experienced many blocked glands/ducts in my life. I don't know if there's a correlation to this either. I've had mastitis, cholesystitis, blepharitis (blocked tear duct), and a Bartholin cyst. Also, I've never been able to sweat easily when working out. I always got very hot and red in the face without any real perspiration.
475555 tn?1469307939 I think if we must partner with another disease it should be diabetes. HIV has done nothing in the last 8 years to help mono or "other disease" confected HCV patients. 1/3 sounds like a lot until you realize just how few with HCV have HIV.
Avatar f tn this mentality can only lead to more fighting. I was in Turkey when the news of our autrocities of torturing prisoners hit the news. I had a Kurdish waiter asking ME why the US was doing these thing. He was distraught. All I could do was stammer that war is horrible and horrible things happen in wars. I wanted to cry. What can you do? You are doing tx. Give yourself some kindness. Turn off CNN. Watch comedies. The world will still be here after you are off meds and can think clearly.
Avatar f tn For people who follow HCV news...... vitamins D3 and B vitamins have been in the news lately...... for years...... 5ish years. If the doctor is pooh poohing taking these.....why not print off some studies? I also don't think selenium, zinc and vit A would be bad choices. Coffee has also been in the news as raising response/ success rates. I have sometimes wondered..... why don't doctors do things which may help response........
Avatar n tn I have been going through my menapause for 7 years I am now 55 the Dr even put me on Paxil for my night sweats...and i also have anxitey to alot...i am worried about this test what they will find...good luck Suzzy my heart goes out to u ..
Avatar n tn Caffeine and sugar trigger palpitations for me and over the years I've seen a ton of others report the same thing. So try eating a low sugar diet and quitting caffeine.
579258 tn?1250652943 Likewise, good luck to all those who's New Years resolutions include weight loss and may we all find the strength we need to be successful as well as the courage to be happy in our own skin. Happy New Years everyone!
Avatar f tn I've had 2 miscarraige, one before my daughter as well but years before her so I've had the blighted and missed miscarriage. I feel your pain! At least it's common though and we aren't freaks of nature or anything right? I mean1 in 4 will result inmiscarriage so really, we are unlucky but not uncommon!! Thanks, I will use relaxation this time again, if I can! Wish me luck!!! Good luck to you too! Boy I can't wait to hear good news from all of you!
192055 tn?1263559137 Although my length is slightly less than it once was, the circumference is my major concern as it has reduced significantly over the years (I'm only 28 now BTW). THis reduction is most noticeable when flaccid. As I previously said, flaccid size can vary enormously according to a number of facotrs but if you imagine a cosine graph which depicts the ups and downs of size according to each of these considerations then the graph of my girth now will be lower on the x axis than it once was.
Avatar f tn You're right - as I said, I respected his service, but he looks rough ....of course he is 72 years old. SO, if I were 72 years old, survived a plane crash, locked up for weeks with only minimal medical treatment, tortured, beaten by a crowd, I would .....yep, I would retire.... He served his country - we all respect that - but hanging on beyond your time isn't service - that's selfish glory seeking.
Avatar n tn At first I thought I was crazy, and that it was impossible for that to happen, but over the last few months it seems to have grown and now anyone who feels the top of my head can easily feel it. It scares me, especially since my husband had brain surgery less than 2 years ago- (symptoms completely different of course) I am 35 years old, the only time I remember hitting my head really hard is when I was in elementary school and I fell and hit my head on a tile floor.
Avatar n tn My daughter is two years old and this past Sunday she woke up vomiting. At the time we thought that most likely she had gotten into some bad food because her Father had picked her up a chicken tenders kids meal late that night when the place was about to close. Well she fell back to sleep that morning and when she woke back up she was fine. She was playing and running and laughing all day. She even rode a carousel! Well that night (Sunday)while she was sleeping she threw up again.
Avatar n tn I have had hives for almost three years now. Every antihistimine and stomach pill (that has a histimine blocker) has been tried. The only relief I have gotten was when I went on Cyclosporine for six moths. This is an antirejection drug. I do not want to stay on this, but have been off of it for five months now, and hives are starting to return. Sometimes they are red splotches on my skin, other times they are thick welts, both itch unreal. My eyes, lips and feet swell also.
1013194 tn?1296463081 That's me !!! Although I haven't gone out and danced since married 30 years ago, I still yearn to. My 8 y/o wants me to teach him. Problem is I want to lead, but he doesn't care. At present I am listening to SoapNetwork in back. The person below me has lost a child to cancer and just can't get over it. He passed 11 years ago this past January. Just want to talk to someone about it, bu everyone says I just have to forget and go on with my life.
Avatar n tn I have been seeing a chiropractor/massage therapist for about 4 weeks now, and it has not helped, because the pain is only after I sleep! I am 23 years old. I help my dad deliver produce 2 times a week in the morning, and I am also a full time sales associate at Sears selling electronics (which I'm on my feet all day.) That may cause a little lower back pain, but it goes away when I'm not working.
Avatar n tn The pain wakes me from sleep and gives me anxiety in the evenings before bedtime due to the fact that I know I will wake in horrible pain. This has been going on for the last 9 years after the birth of my daughter and has progressivley gotten worse. The doctors are stumped as to what this can be and has referred me to a chiro and recommended a nerve block. If anyone has any ideas, please advise. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I am having occasional left tyestacle and lower left abdomen pain. It is annoying but not too bad yet. 20 years ago I had a double hernia repaired and the pain was similar. Does anyone recall a relation between hernias and these symptoms?
