Avatar m tn Try testing postprandial at 2.5 and 3 hrs. If your glucose still reads over 100 mg/dl then something in your meal plan needs to be avoided. Foods high in simple carbohydrates and sugar [fruits too] will elevate your glucose above normal. Good luck with the Urologist.
649848 tn?1534633700 Because, as Oliver rightly notes, Fox News is in the business of selling a certain kind of news to its largely conservative (and very large) viewer base. And that "news" is generally speaking, centered around the idea that the mainstream media is in cahoots with Democrats to screw, frighten and otherwise mistreat the average Joe and Jane out there.
Avatar f tn Each side has one tiny, punctate (pinhole-sized) scar which can be caused from a variety of things like migraines or high blood pressure, or diabetes, or even a disease like MS which causes similar-looking scars by a process of demyelination (damaging the insulating coat (myelin) of brain nerves. The only way we could say anything more if you would care to do what Samanadevii asks. Tell us about your problems, symptoms and why they ordered an MRI.
Avatar m tn About 3 days back he suddenly became unconscious and was rushed to the nearest hospital. His diabetes was not in control and blood pressure was very low 40\70. After doing tests it was found that his creatanine levels were abnormal. At present he is at a hospital in high dependency unit, his blood pressure is still 60/100 and diabetes is also in control. He is having no trouble with urination right now. Doctors are saying he is still in critical condition.
Avatar f tn Saw my ENT today Path reports are back and it's NON cancerous!!! It did say lymphocitic thyroiditis and chronic inflamation. Anyone know what this "would" have ment in the future for me if not taken care of? All of my labs were normal pre surgery. Just wondering as my fathers autopsy report said lymphocitic thyroiditis also and I'm wondering about my sisters need to keep up with their Dr's about this family history.
Avatar n tn There have been many reports of research where diabetes has been cured in mice or monkeys or some other animal, but those results have never been able to be translated to humans. There was recently reports on a procedure done in Brazil on kids as young as 14 using stem cells which has reversed the diabetes of 12 of 15 of the kids in the test. It is a procedure which is not allowed in the US because of how dangerous it is.
4186651 tn?1357830957 Why didn't my pcp or the NL tell me the whole truth about my MRI reports?!!! All they said was, "ya, it's Chiari malformation "! And in reality it was more than they originally told me!!
Avatar f tn He took my blood and is testing for STD HIV (after I asked), diabetes, anemia, autoimmune disease, and thyroid and many others. I received two of reports back today (anemia and i don't know what the other one was, but both were normal). Tomorrow he said he should receive the full report. I hope it's nothing bad.
Avatar m tn At the same time I was informed by one of the nurses that I had diabtes. It rang up 8.5 which, according to my brother who has had diabetes for years, is not that serious. However, I am not one to ignore danger signals so, I will be looking into all the info regarding the problem. Every time my wife looks at me she shakes her head. She says that if there are any more diseases out there I should stay away from them.
1715838 tn?1330648200 Hopefully others who use the MH Diabetes tracker will come along and provide you with tips. In the meantime you can download the Atkins carb tool by Googling "atkins carbohydrate counter list". The food list is quite extensive and detailed and is 106 pages.
Avatar m tn Now when i looked through internet about the Ketones i found that it has something to do with Diabetes. I am very scared of this. No one in mine and my wifes family has diabetes and so i feel my son may not have this and that to he is so yuong to have this. When i showed the report to his pediatrician he said it could be due to his fat breakdown because of starvation and the ketones will go away as soon as he starts having his normal diet.

Avatar m tn Here's a couple more reports, along these lines: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18506898 which reports that "For patients with chronic hepatitis C and advanced cirrhosis, diabetes mellitus increases the risk of developing HCC." with more than a doubled 5-year HCC incidence rate (11 vs 5) when DB was coupled with advanced fibrosis.
696149 tn?1314320959 Now, I was just went to another Opthomologist and they said the on two separate occasions my insurance said that I had diabetes. This was news to me and no one told me anything. Still, my last test for diabetes said I didn't have it. I can't help but think this is what is causing my blurred vision. Some days my vision is better than others but it's always blurry! It's especially blurry when I first wake up to and it takes many hours to get better.
Avatar n tn The actual lab reports say high risk wasn’t detected.
7062464 tn?1395341888 If you don't get a call within a few days I would say it's safe to say you don't have it
Avatar m tn I have read several reports on the diabetes support group sites that say hair gets thinner and also that sores and infections take longer to heal. See a doctor ASAP if you get an infection that is not healing. Once blood sugar levels are under good control without so many highs, these symptoms should improve and eventually giive you no problem. I have been Type 1 for 64 years and I am very healthy. With good control we can live long, healthy lives.
