Common Questions and Answers about Diabetes diet brochure

diabetes

Avatar n tn My findings have been appalling, to say the least. Aside from those who suffer from diabetes, aspartame (included in diet sodas and many other foods and products. ex. Winterfresh gum, light yogurt & Flintstones Vitamins) is an extremely harmful - and deadly - additive. The effects of aspartame include and are not limited to: (list from www.dorway.
Avatar f tn Im borderline gd and my dr prrscribed me a glucose meter to check my sugars 4 times a day. I have weekly appointments and they are watching me closely bc i had low fluids at 30 weeks. I get a non stress test and an ultrasound fluid check every week and we also review my sugars. Lately they have been high, not just a little high but like 155 (normal is below 120) and they seem to be unconcerned about it. My baby is 3 weeks ahead in growth and i am getting more and more uncomfortable.
Avatar f tn The short term side effects of concern are generally weight gain and sedation and short term movement disorders (which can be treated with a side effect pill). The long term side effects of concern are diabetes (which can be managed by regular blood tests and maintaining a proper diet) and long term movement disorders (which your psychiatrist can test for).
Avatar m tn I thought it might have been because of caffine, so I gave up tea, and it happen anyway. I tried switching around my diet but can't link it to anything I'm eating. all the test I've gotten so far say I'm fine. I went to a urologist, and he check hormes, my blood, and urine, and prostate. All the tests came back fine. I use to get nucturia if I drank coffee, or tea before bed. I stopped doing this and I haven't had it since. Just these episodes of frequent urination. What could be causing this?
Avatar f tn Hi Barbiewhite, I think I read in the brochure thingy that you need to check out diarrhea with blood - I think that we should be going to the doc if anything is annoying or out of the usual - whatever that means to you - at the least they can check you out and advise what to take.
Avatar f tn com/topdrs/ My endo treats 75 percent thyroid, not diabetes, as so many do. That's what happened with my last endo who refused to raise my Synthroid higher than 75 or add Cytomel because the beloved TSH was 1.2. I'm now on 112 Synthroid and 5 Cytomel. I honestly don't know my current TSH because my new endo hasn't tested it lately, but I feel great, and isn't that what's most important?
Avatar n tn If you want some good general information go to the following site and look up the brochure for hypothyroidism - its quite concise. Because we have no thyroid we will nearly always be hypo unless our meds are at the right level - so persist with getting it right. http://www.thyroid.org/patients/brochures.html I've been on 150mcg of thyroxine for 6 weeks now and just had my blood taken yesterday. (I am in Australia and we have different brands to you but dosages are same).
1358341 tn?1282213443 She does not, and will not eat any kind of prescription kidney diet food.. For this reason the vet has prescribed Aluminum Hydroxide, it is your basic antiacid but since it only came in liquid form and it would be too stressful to give twice a day to my cat I called a specialty pharmacy and they compounded it into powder in a capsule and I open the capsule up and give it to her twice a day, every 12 hours.
Avatar m tn The drs didn't say it was impossible, I'm saying it's almost impossible to get them to see why I am still in pain. First it was "it takes time to heal" and now it's "we aren't seeing anything - maybe you are constipated" (??), however they hadn't really tested for anything either. I just had an MRCP on Saturday and I await the results. If 50% get better, then 50% get worse.
Avatar n tn I'm 16 and have a stupidly poor diet, due to the fact i don't like most foods, i live off bread, cheese and chrisps. I've never been bulemic but recently i've been throwing up every day quite a few time, all i eat comes out and then bile comes up, its not fun. I'm not pregnant and when i was younger i never really threw up, im a smoker but now if im not careful i throw up from taking a drag.
1047234 tn?1253547296 I eat as natural as I can, with as little processed food as possible, but I haven't done the elimination diet so far. I admire you for the strength to do this diet because it is not easy, but can be very benefical.
Avatar n tn I have high blood pressure, triglycerides and cholesterol. The diet begins with a blood test and an EKG and then you start the diet after you see their doctor who just does a simple physical to make sure you are healthy enough to diet. All I can say is... This time (it's my 4th time in 20 years)... this time, my blood pressure has dropped from 150/92 down to 116/75. I am in my fourth week.
Avatar n tn i got pregnant with this iud...
Avatar n tn I've gained significant weight while on these drugs (despite an intense exercise program and careful diet). My nutritionist and MD told me that the drugs likely altered my metabolism, but no one can tell me how long it will take to correct that. Most frustrating, I've noticed that since I stopped taking both, my weight gain has accelerated. Any ideas as to how long I need to endure this or ideas for correcting my metabolism? Thanks.
Avatar m tn The appt girl said he was really busy. They will be mailing me a info pact. She said they have had great success with Hep C and Diabetes associated with it. I don't have a clue as to what great success means. She said as long as you haven't developed ascities they could help you. I really Don't know how this is going to play out but with my odds so low with SOC its worth a try.
Avatar n tn i shared it with my doctor who is a doll but ain't got a clue. gave him a brochure and told him 2 go study up and be ready to talk my language the next time i see him..i take one or two around every four hours and then if i skip a dose the crawlies sorta creep back. but i'm unannoyingly happy feeling like i'm going thru a fabulous healing process.
Avatar n tn You WILL have retrograde ejack, you WILL end your sex life and endure the consequences of testosterone deprivation which are quite deadly and include; further depression, massive cholesterol increases, obesity, diabetes and heart disease. Dr. Singh, stick to medicine that you know something about, or be prepared to tell the whole truth. Lastly, all patients should know that there is no cure for retrograde ejack; the decongestants and all of that is pure falderal.
Avatar n tn Nine Reasons for False Negative Lyme Disease Blood Test Results From the Lyme Disease Foundation brochure, Frequently Asked Questions About Lyme Disease 1. Antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi (Bb) are present, but the laboratory is unable to detect them. 2. Antibodies against Bb may not be present in detectable levels in a patient with Lyme disease because the patient is currently on, or has recently taken, antibiotics.
Avatar f tn Physicians are so dogmatic to trust a study (you know, the one done by the manufacturer which is being pitched by the good looking medical sales rep with the glossy brochure) over their own patients real life symptoms, that they are really jeopardizing the patients well being. Well, Im sorry you are going through this because I certainly know what you are up against. I'll keep checking back here if you dont mind keeping me up to date.

Avatar n tn I've added a large amount Psyllium husks to my diet to combat this. Elevation (above your heart) of the leg and ice helps some. So does walking with a cane -- be sure to use the cane on the opposite side of the problem knee. I recently received a prescription for Lidocane patches (used primarly to relieve the pain of Shingles) which I wear on my knee for 12 hrs during the day and that seems to hold me practically pain free.
Avatar n tn seems like despite diet and exercise, the weight is either staying the same or increasing. My abdomen is so bloated I look pregnant. My hair is falling out. Everytime after brushing or combing, there are strands of hair everywhere. I am aware that we all shed hair, but this is not normal shedding. I experience a pinching sensation on the right side of my uterus that causes me to double over.
Avatar n tn the dr said that he is surprised that that is the only thing wrong, i have absolutely no other abnormalities, and no sign of diabetes or heart disease. after my clomid he said that everything was going perfect, i had 2 eggs release the night before iui, i had gone in on sat for blood and then was told to come in the next day, that went on till monday and i had a surge so they gave me the trigger that day and went in on tuesday the 26th for iui and had another egg release that day.
