antihistamine

Avatar f tn They showed up overnight on my face and neck and have now spread to my chest and ears. My face has also swelled up (my eyes are puffy and I now have a double chin which I didn't have before). I did some searching on google but all I could really find on what it might be was something called 'Silia' which are tiny goosebump-looking cysts caused by under exfoliating, heavy moisturizers, and/or under cleansing.
Avatar f tn To help relieve the puffiness you can use a gel sleep mask, gel ice pack or soak green tea bags- in water and place in the freezer, and place over eyes every evening prior to going to bed. Place a regular sleep mask over the gel mask or the tea bags to help keep cooler longer and help hold them in place. If they are really really cold leave on for 10 mins and off for 10 mins and repeat to avoid damaging the eyes.
Avatar f tn I did take an occasional Claritin but it seems like every time I did anything I break out more. My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl. Big mistake since I woke up broke out in bad hives.
Avatar n tn The mainstay of treatment of hives is antihistamine which may be necessary for prolonged periods (in excess of 6 weeks).Take Over the counter antihistaminics like benadryl or Claritin.Sometimes double conventional doses of non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(zyrcet), Loratadine(Claritin) and Fexofenadine may be needed to get symptom relief. Sedating antihistamines such as Chlorphenamine(benadryl) or Hydroxyzine are used at night to get urticaria control.

Avatar f tn Hello I am a young female, I usually have normal to oily skin, but just yesterday I woke up and noticed bumps all along my forehead, very small like goosebumps almost. Yet, noticeable. I have larger bumps on my neck but not near big enough to be hives. They're very itchy and are hard to notice unless touched. Please help! Currently I'm using antihistamine and aloe Vera gel to relive it.
Avatar m tn i used furacin cream for a wound on my leg and it caused an allergy on my whole body especially my penis was itchy. i used stilex gel and it relieved itching but later when i mastrubate there was some bleeding in glans because of friction when washed with soap and water i hurt alot again i used stilex gel and it relieved pain.after 2-3 days i realised skin doesnt strech adequately when penis erected the skin was tense it limited my erection as if my penis became smaller.
Avatar f tn I was told it was pupps and was given a prescription for an antihistamine and some cream. The cream burns when I apply it and the antihistamine I am uncomfortable taking as it says not to take the in the 3rd trimester on the information. But without it I get so itchy what do I do?

666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn it is now July 09 and I still cannot see out of my right eye. the vision is a total blur, along with double vision. My surgeon, who is supposed to be one of the best, told me that it would take time for the gel to clear, not to worry. At every visit he told me it looked great!!!. Every time I asked about why I could not see through it, I got the same spill, "Give it time".
Avatar n tn Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene . Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. Take your child to a skin specialist or child specialsit. It would be best not to treat it on your own.
Avatar m tn the eyes are properly aligned but the problem of double vision still persists. Here the doctor has administered Genteal gel to be put 2 times a day. pls help and advise. very very worried..
Avatar m tn These denuded areas may persist for more than a month. No treatment is usually indicated but antihistamine gel or steroid mouth rinses may help with discomfort. While this condition is a harmless condition, it can be recurrent, persistent and uncomfortable. It is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I would recommend that you visit your primary medical doctor to see if he will investigate it or simply provide you a treatment with an antihistamine. You may be suffering from some allergies to foods or detergents/fabric softeners/lotions....it's too difficult to pinpoint the issue with some investigation. You physician should order some lab work as well, to see if it's organically based. Hydroxyzine is a very good prescription antihistamine and can help you sleep as well.
Avatar m tn Usually no treatment is given but if treatment is needed antihistamine gel or steroid mouth rinses may help with discomfort. Zinc supplements and mouth rinses may help. It can be persistent and recurrent. For additional queries consult your dentist and get your doubts clarified. Write to me again. Take care and regards!
Avatar n tn Hello! When I was treating I found relief in Aveeno bath and body oil (wash with warm -not hot- water and pat dry) as well as colloidal oatmeal when I was really desperate. If your itching is driving you mad at night, 25 mg of benedryl or 1 mg of chlorophineramine may help too. If you have the "leather tongue" or dry mouth at night, I found the mouth moisturizing gel by Oragel (it has a glycerine base so it lasts for hours) worked well too...
Avatar m tn Interesting read, plus added credibility with Doctor Dieterich. The drug could be used in all kinds of hepatitis C patients, Liang said, and could help prevent re-infection in patients who undergo liver transplantation. The research is early, and a number of challenges remain, however. For one thing, "we would have to use the currently accepted dosing for any clinical trial, because the drug at high doses may have significant side effects, such as drowsiness," Liang said.
Avatar m tn But the hormone part can take a year, and will require periodic changes for the rest of your life. I also have DI. I hate it!!! At the beginning you have to be very careful about using too much DDAVP. I've seen many doctors since my surgery, and they do not understand the extreme thirst that we go through. They also tend to over medicate us. So make sure that you take periods in between doses to get rid of extra fluids. I found that weighing myself every morning to be very helpful.
Avatar n tn First you need to stay on antihistamine until it is gone. Benadryl is great stuff. You should see a GP or allergist doctor. You definitely had a reaction to that sting and are still having it. Sounds like the ER ruled out anaphylaxis but you did have Benadryl in you so that I'm not sure about the results. Just stay on antihistamine on schedule to prevent something worst.
Avatar m tn This condition is harmless but it can be persistent and uncomfortable. Treatment involves use of antihistamine gel or steroid mouth rinses. Do keep me posted. Best wishes and regards!
