Common Questions and Answers about Antihistamine gel

antihistamine

Avatar f tn To help relieve the puffiness you can use a gel sleep mask, gel ice pack or soak green tea bags- in water and place in the freezer, and place over eyes every evening prior to going to bed. Place a regular sleep mask over the gel mask or the tea bags to help keep cooler longer and help hold them in place. If they are really really cold leave on for 10 mins and off for 10 mins and repeat to avoid damaging the eyes.
Avatar f tn I did take an occasional Claritin but it seems like every time I did anything I break out more. My allergist told me to try Claritin tabs instead of gel caps but I took one after having my allergy shot and I broke out in hives again. Now all the pollen is out and my eyes are really itchy and red and I have a hard time seeing at work. I tried taking Atarax last night to see if that would help more than Benadryl. Big mistake since I woke up broke out in bad hives.
Avatar f tn Hello I am a young female, I usually have normal to oily skin, but just yesterday I woke up and noticed bumps all along my forehead, very small like goosebumps almost. Yet, noticeable. I have larger bumps on my neck but not near big enough to be hives. They're very itchy and are hard to notice unless touched. Please help! Currently I'm using antihistamine and aloe Vera gel to relive it.

Avatar n tn How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
666921 tn?1254990618 I personally don't take antihistamine but just some advice I read that - antihistamine suppresses the immune system - never thought about it before - they work like steroids - some very good advice on another forum was - do not take antihistamine if you have lyme I am sure some of you already knew this but just thought I would mention it
Avatar n tn Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene . Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. Take your child to a skin specialist or child specialsit. It would be best not to treat it on your own.
Avatar f tn It sounds like it might be an allergic reaction to something- have you tried taking an antihistamine yet? I would give the doctor a call and make sure it's ok to to try an antihistamine to see if that helps.
Avatar m tn These denuded areas may persist for more than a month. No treatment is usually indicated but antihistamine gel or steroid mouth rinses may help with discomfort. While this condition is a harmless condition, it can be recurrent, persistent and uncomfortable. It is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I would recommend that you visit your primary medical doctor to see if he will investigate it or simply provide you a treatment with an antihistamine. You may be suffering from some allergies to foods or detergents/fabric softeners/lotions....it's too difficult to pinpoint the issue with some investigation. You physician should order some lab work as well, to see if it's organically based. Hydroxyzine is a very good prescription antihistamine and can help you sleep as well.
Avatar m tn Usually no treatment is given but if treatment is needed antihistamine gel or steroid mouth rinses may help with discomfort. Zinc supplements and mouth rinses may help. It can be persistent and recurrent. For additional queries consult your dentist and get your doubts clarified. Write to me again. Take care and regards!
Avatar n tn Hello! When I was treating I found relief in Aveeno bath and body oil (wash with warm -not hot- water and pat dry) as well as colloidal oatmeal when I was really desperate. If your itching is driving you mad at night, 25 mg of benedryl or 1 mg of chlorophineramine may help too. If you have the "leather tongue" or dry mouth at night, I found the mouth moisturizing gel by Oragel (it has a glycerine base so it lasts for hours) worked well too...
Avatar n tn First you need to stay on antihistamine until it is gone. Benadryl is great stuff. You should see a GP or allergist doctor. You definitely had a reaction to that sting and are still having it. Sounds like the ER ruled out anaphylaxis but you did have Benadryl in you so that I'm not sure about the results. Just stay on antihistamine on schedule to prevent something worst.
Avatar m tn This condition is harmless but it can be persistent and uncomfortable. Treatment involves use of antihistamine gel or steroid mouth rinses. Do keep me posted. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar m tn My parents wen out so I decided to try masturbating with some shower gel as lube and I got some on my balls and not got it off, left it there and it wasn't a good idea. Avatar n tn It has happened to me twice before (had used Avon lip balm then) and i applied Smyle herbal gel and Vaseline and it worked. This time though it is not working. I've been applying Smyle gel and Himalaya lip balm to cure it. If I use Nivea lip balm nothing happens though. it feels really nasty without anything on my lips and so I have to keep applying something. Please help...
Avatar m tn It might be worth mentioning that the appearance of this rash coincided with me moving to a new apartment, starting to use a new type of detergent and a new shower gel. It is kind of periodical and sporadic and the itching sometimes disappears for few days, and than returns again. From time to time the bumps appear on different parts of my body: my back, my shoulders, my butt, my arms, my thighs, around my knees, around my ankles...

Avatar n tn s also been taking two chlorpheniramine antihistamine pills a day, but things seem to be getting worse if anything. He was on Iams large breed dog food for the first couple years of his life, and when the allergies started, we switched him to lamb and rice to see if it was his food, but that didn't help. We've also tried Benadryl with no results. My vet says that there is not much more we can do, but I've read about the yeast pills, and other medications.
Avatar n tn Finally, she put a thick layer of after sun gel on my face and sent me home. I went to a pharmacy and was planning on buying cortizone cream to put on my face. But the pharmacist recommended Benedryl instead. He suggested that I do not put anything on my face. So I drank a lot of water and took two Benedryl that night. Next morning, the swelling had gone down. But there are scabs all over my face which I'm not sure how well it will heal and how long it will take.
Avatar f tn I would think the antihistamine would aggravate the nose bleeds. I used to get them often. Was told to use the saline spray which really didn't help much. Oddly enough, I did have a nose bleed today but it is hot and dry here. What I use every morning and sometimes at before bed is the NeilMed nasal GEL. I also started using a humidifier in the bedroom at night. I do also have chronic dry mouth and throat. The gel has really helped.
Avatar f tn Have you tried Unisom Tablets? (Not gel caps) the tablets are used in treating sickness and as an added bonus help you sleep more soundly. Also, peppermint and peppermint oil can help with it too.
