Depo provera cost without insurance

Common Questions and Answers about Depo provera cost without insurance

Avatar n tn Depo Provera is costing me my relationship with my husband. After 7 years married (today) he confessed to me to be emotionally drained... wow... that's because we never have sex. And when we do it feels to me like a job. I don't enjoy it, I want it to be over fast. I definitely NOT GETTING my next shot. I guess I'll go back to the pill =/ Being a woman is a wonderful thing, but chemical birth control *****. Good luck to the ones that keep trying.
Avatar n tn I have been on depo for 11 years. I would be due for my next shot on 9/27 but my Doctor has advised that I stop having it. She has been treating me for migraines and depression with Imitrex (when needed) and a daily dosage of Prozac of 10mg. The Imitrex thankfully, works, and the migraines have also been lessened by the Prozac.
Avatar m tn In the spring of 2012 my wife started the birth control shot Depo Provera as a treatment for fibroid tumors. The side affects were terrible. She went from being someone with boundless energy to being tired all the time. She went from having a very healthy sex drive to having none at all. She gained about 75lbs, despite having and continuing abnormally healthy eating and exercise habits. Even her personality changed.
Avatar n tn Because the depo was still in my system and I just got of BCP's I didnt have a period without the help of provera until Dec 05. I now am almost 21 weeks pregnant. Depo can do strange things to your body and I would seriously do some research on it before deciding to take it. I'm just one person and this was my reaction to the shot but everyones different and Im sure there are some people that have used the Depo shot and not had any side effects. Best of Luck!!
Avatar n tn I just wondered if anyone has ever gone this long without having a period? I have no insurance at the moment to see a DR, Is there anything herbal (I hate meds if i dont have to take them) that i might be able to take to get everything kick started. I am starting to worry something has gone wrong inside!! I am taking multi vitamins for women with 400mcg of folic acid. We would really love to be blessed with a child. Anybody have any thoughts or Ideas that might help?!?!
Avatar n tn I have had endo for over ten years now and after a few surgeries and depo provera i finally put my foot down along with my husband and said Enough is enough, i couldnt live like that any longer! so i started Lucrin in Jan and i've got my last injection in a few days time. I was terrified of going on it after reading side effects but...the hot flushes, night sweats, headaches and feeling pregnant lol are nothing compared to how much pain i was in before!
4842016 tn?1372042667 The depo provera shot can be taken while breastfeeding and is needed every 3 months. If you get it within 6 weeks of delivery it can reduce your milk supply.
Avatar n tn oh yeah and how do you get a blood test for pregnany? how much does it cost without insurance? and do they tell your family memebers without your permission?
Avatar n tn There's no hormonal fluctuation, and never has been; it's consistent all the time. I'm on depo-provera now, but even before then it was the same. It doesn't seem to matter if I scrub myself raw, or go two weeks without bathing (I'm in the Houston area, and last fall after Ike, with no power or clean water, bathing was iffy. We've been through similar several times over the years). Diet makes no difference. Climate changes make no difference. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn The Mirena IUD has hormones like the pill and some women stop having a period completely. Then, there's the Depo Provera shot. This one is one of the more controversial birth controls out there. You get a hormone shot, and a few months later, you get another one. Less to remember, but you have to make sure you get each shot on time.
Avatar n tn I started dating and having sex with my boyfriend seven months ago. After a few months into our relationship, we had me go on Depo-Provera for birth control and stopped using condoms. I realize now that wasn't the smartest idea since I just took his word that he didn't have any STD's. However, I have been 100% faithful to him and I feel pretty confident that he hasn't slept with anyone else since meeting me.
Avatar f tn I'm actually not sure that I'm ovulating at all. Before we started ttc, I went on the depo-provera injection for one year. It stopped my periods (which were regular before that), and I've never gotten them back. I have had a period with provera, and I have had a couple on my own (but they're short - about 3 days). I chart my bbt and it is all over the place. I've been pregnant once, so I have obviously ovulated at least once.
796506 tn?1370191905 Thank you so much I have really had a problem ovulating and I will have to take provera before clomid (no period in 7 months) and I have heard alot of good things about this medication and I was just wondering if anyone had any advice to not drive myself insane during the wait until the RE appointment and then the next month of not driving me or my husband batty! LOL!
Avatar n tn the doctors vists and hospital cost will really really really add up without insurance.
766872 tn?1240344712 I hope the shots arent that exspensive because they dont offer good insurance plans that cover most of that stuff. Do you have any idea of the cost for gonal-f maybe? And I hope that I said and spelled that correctly!
Avatar f tn Maybe I am wrong, but I do know treatment is much different if you have insurance. Oh, right now I am on Lovastatin for my high cholesterol,(she says bad HD- is like 238 or something) and Hydrochlorat for my high blood pressure (normally around 154/74) but shot up to 200/90 something when I was in the hospital getting the Liver biopsy). Also, I have only been on the Hydrochlorat for 5 days now, and they said I would have large amounts of water output, but I have not seen it yet.
Avatar n tn I went without my period for 7 months straight between OCT 04 and MAY 05 I am not on birth control or anything. It seems i JUST Missed it for some reason. Seems kind of odd how i can miss it for 7 months straight. If everything before seemed normal. So i decided that i could be pregnant I took test after test and it all came back neg. I went to the doctor and they did bloodwork and an Ultra sound all came back negative. Anyhow, I also have hotflashes and tend to get sweaty at random times.
Avatar n tn and it has helped me a lot. I had a Depo Provera shot which made it virtually impossible to lose weight. I've been taking Indole-3-Carbinol supplements (comes from Cruciferous veggies) and am finally starting to shed some weight.
594732 tn?1219252744 I do have insurance under my parents, but I don't want to claim the abortion because they'll be able to see it on the insurance... please don't tell me that I need to tell my parents and that that's the responsible choice. It's easy to say, not so easy to do. I want to take care of this myself and keep from hurting them--I'm not alone in this, since my boyfriend knows about my suspicions and supports my decision to look into medical abortion.
Avatar n tn I have endometriosis and I cannot take an oral form of birth control. It made all my symptoms worse. However, I have been on depo provera, a birth control shot, for years and it has worked wonders!!! Just an idea. I don't know why it acts differently, but it definitely has been making life bearable.
Avatar n tn I have looked into IVF but my insurance does not cover I know it can be rediculously expensive. I just dont know what to do or to think and do not understand why the medicine is not working.
Avatar f tn I had to have an abdominal laparoscopy done to remove the cysts, because they were large. My OBGYN told me that if I didnt want anymore cysts to get on the Depo Provera shot. so I started taking the shot and I have not had one cyst that I know of since. I have a pelvic ultrasound done every 6 months to check for them and the ultrasound is always negative.
393685 tn?1425816122 later I ended up hospitalized again for more pulmonary embolisms, notably b/c he never took me off the Depo Provera shots after last lung clot, Nope, Dr's are not infallible, but this one seriouly dropped the ball, I nearly died..
Avatar n tn I have not had to go that far yet, but this is my first cycle of Clomid so we are going to see what happens with this first. You can have PCOS without having to have developing cysts on your ovaries.
Avatar f tn I would also check into any community clinics that offer free or low cost services to folks without insurance. Now that it's been two weeks since you've missed your period, I would test again...but don't get discouraged if it is a BFN. If you do have a Planned Parenthood, I would call them explain what's going on and see if they can get you in for bloodwork. Good luck to you!
1160836 tn?1332333769 I don't have PCOS just simply haven't ovulated in 4 months. Last regular AF was November 09. All my other's have been Provera induced. Did clomid 50 mg last cycle and still didn't ovulate. This next cycle doing provera agian and clomid 100 mg. Hopefully I ovulated. Have my fingers crossed. SBD!
Avatar n tn I can't drive, work, take care of my son without being consumed by these symptoms. I done several test and they are normal. Sometimes I feel like I am crazy. I've tried just to relax, relax, relax because the doctor says STRESS. I do admit that I have my share of stress but who doesn't. I just continue to pray to God that he will give me knowledge to know how to help people who have this condition and that he will heal us from it. I am so tired of living like this.
Avatar n tn This compares with 10 for the normal IUCD, 20 for the Pill and 10-15 for the injection (Depo Provera). This is comparable to the effectiveness of sterilisation. Mirena acts as a contraceptive in two ways: it makes the mucus at the neck of the womb (the cervix) much thicker, preventing sperm from getting through and it also makes the lining of the womb extremely thin, stopping implantation. In some women it prevents egg release (ovulation). A.
280700 tn?1210287416 I think when people see miscarriages with clomid, it's because they are being watched so carefully that they find out they are pregnant much earlier than they normally would, so they are aware of miscarriages very early in the cycle that if ttc naturally without doctor intervention, they probably wouldn't know about. I would have never known about that twin if I hadn't been being scrutinized with an ultrasound probe every week from very early on!
Avatar n tn BUT BEFORE i had the IUD put in, i was on the Depo Provera... which is the shot form of birth control that lasts three months... i have had constant yeast and bacterial infections since i have been on the shot. Now i am on the IUD, and they both use the same hormones. this is just great (sarcastically speaking) to hear all of this about the IUD as well. i was really hoping after MANY (too many to count) years of dealing with the constant infections that my problems are not going to go away.
