But u could just have dry scalp which is different. Try drinking more water (even tho we all have to pee more we still need drink lots...
876805 tn?1240185863 i have had problems with my scalp, I went to a beauty supply store where they have alot more types of shampoo and conditioner, i suggest using this shampoo called - ion clear-t dual action shampoo (it's pretty much for scalp issues such as oily scalp, dry scalp dandruff, psoriasis..) and then this conditioner called american classic tea tree conditioner.. it's absolutely amazing, the first time i used it i could FEEL the difference, it was like such a relief to my scalp.

Avatar n tn Hi, The best way to treat dandruff is to use a dandruff shampoo. Look for shampoos with ingredients such as zinc pyrithone, salicyclic acid, coal tar, selenium silfide, or ketoconazole. All of these ingredients have been shown to work on dandruff; to use the shampoo, apply it to your scalp and hair, rub vigorously, and allow it to sit for five minutes so that the ingredients can work before rinsing it out.
Avatar n tn i have the exact same problem. It seems related to dandruff, but the shampoos that I use that work for dandruff don't work for it.
9562964 tn?1416928231 Nizeral, polytar and t gell shampoo are all great for dandruff. You could try nioxin shampoo. You get a 3 part system. Nioxin cleanser , scalp revitaliser ( conditioner) and scalp treatment. It is designed for thinning hair but would help your dandruff aswell. It will unblock blocked follicles to aid hair growth and also make the hair you have look thicker and stronger.
Avatar f tn Hi I've had this problem for my hole life I'm 14 weeks pregnant i went to visit my doctor a month ago for the same problem and she recommend me the HEAD & SHOULDERS CLINICAL STRENGHT DANDRUFF ITS DOCTORS it's the only one that comes in blue bottle use it for 3 days the other days use your choice of shampoo but wash your hair everyday GOODLUCK HOPE IT WORKS IT WORK FOR ME I LOVE THE SMELL OF IT TOO
Avatar f tn The hospital is not needed for cradle cap, use a little baby oil and a soft brush twice a day. Selsum blue dandruff shampoo works great also. 99% of the time they grow out of it, my daughter is 2 and has had it since she was a nb.
Avatar n tn Today I intend to try the mayonnaise and vinegar process and see if actually works on the head. The only thing that i'm questioning is that if this remedy really works on the scalp area, then how do I kill the ones in my eye brows, eyelashes, nose, and ears? Again, if someone out there knows the best way to treat this issue, then please let me know, this is my day off and I will be fighting lice all day long.
Avatar f tn hello, thanks for the explanation and advice.I found a solution to my problem, and i was the shampoo that i was using. Right now im using himalaya's anti dandruff shampoo and it works. No more greasy hair. Thank you so much and i appreciate the explanation you provided, it helped a lot.
Avatar m tn Hi I've just found this forum and I'm delighted! I have to wash my hair EVERY day and by lunchtime it smells bad, more so on my scalp but my hair too! I've tried T-Gel, Nizorel, Vosene, Sulphur shampoo, anti dandruff stuff prescribed by the doctor (who actually didn't believe me, she clearly didn't get close enough!) and I'm starting to get paranoid, not to mention worried about the condition of my hair due to constant washing, drying straightening.
Avatar f tn You can use selsun dandruff shampoo too, just be careful not to get it in the eyes
Avatar f tn I had the same problem I switched to loreal sulfate free shampoo and now I don't have it as bad
Avatar f tn Yes I would suggest using a head and shoulders type shampoo for dandruff (you may not have dandruff but the itchyness can be apart of that) if it persists, I'd suggest maybe going to the doctors, they may be able to prescribe something for it.
Avatar f tn the only thing that works is desonide lotion. I am so sad to find out that using this long term has bad side effects. My Question is: Is there anything I can do in combination with the desonide? I read on about.com that using a corticosteroid should only be used to reduced the redness and then use dandruff shampoo for maintenance , but like I said the dandruff shampoo is not working, it is actually making things more red and it slightly burns. Is there an alternative to Desonide?
Avatar f tn I tried a dandruff shampoo that contains zinc pyrithione, but this time I rubbed the shampoo directly on the spots instead of just the foam. My ears and groin are still red but the scales and scabs are virtually gone in less than 10 days and I only itch when the skin is wet (sweat or post-shower). Hey, this works. And I'm tired of itching. And now parts of my scalp are itching, on top of the ears, face, chest, belly area and groin.
Avatar n tn What does dandruff shampoo do for the flaky dermatitis on the eyelid? Are you saying by strictly using a dandruff shampoo that will help the flaky dry skin go away on your eyelid? Or do you use the shampoo and also rub it on your eyelid during the process? Hmmm, confused.
Avatar n tn My hair became very oily with my daughter for the first few weeks, but I did not have dandruff. Has anyone else had this problem? Any shampoo suggestions that can take care of both of these problems?
Avatar f tn t know if this has anything to do with either one but my scalp constantly itches. No dandruff just itching. I've tried several different kinds of dandruff shampoo but nothing helps. Can anyone help me, it is driving me crazy.
Avatar f tn Tea tree shampoo by paul mitchell works great, but you have to by it from a salon or a beauty supply store becuase they sell knock offs that dont have the same ingrediants that work at drugs store and convinent store! before you use try to sratch of as much dead skin as you can with a brush or something!
Avatar m tn I first started getting dandruff a while back; now I have spots that are very visible, especially when I get out of the shower. They don't really itch or hurt but they do have a redness to them, but its just really dry patches; I've tried treating them with over-the-counter dandruff shampoo but to no avail. I also have a dry-skin problem on my face and my doctor gave me Ketoconazole cream which helped, but the same cream does not remedy my scalp problems.
Avatar f tn If the skin is oily, rinsing in vinegar water can help. The shampoo that might work is Nystatin shampoo, but try neem first.
Avatar f tn She tried Tgel, Nizoral (which works if you just have mild dandruff) and then MG217. The MG217, tar shampoo, works like heaven for her. She has to use it for a few days straight if her scalp is really bad then as it gets better, she uses it once or twice a week. It's available at any drugstore or online drugstores.
Avatar n tn My hairdresser told me that dandruff shampoo was making my flakes much worse. I switched to Neutrogena moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and my scalp has been salvaged as well as my hair. I still occasionally have flakes but they are few an far between.
446049 tn?1649005835 My son uses it successfully. Give it a whirl and see how it goes. There's another otc product that is also given for this which is T Gel. It's tar based. I don't really care for that tire odor to my hair but it does work pretty well. Anyway, glad you are seeing a doctor to guide you. And again, nizoral has worked great for my son to clear it up. Best of luck to you.
Avatar n tn after using any anti dandruff shampoo like clinic plus, head & shoulder my head ache starts. why? i use other shampoo also but only anti dandruff starts my head ache. i want to know which chemical affecting me?
