I tried a dandruff shampoo that contains zinc pyrithione, but this time I rubbed the shampoo directly on the spots instead of just the foam. My ears and groin are still red but the scales and scabs are virtually gone in less than 10 days and I only itch when the skin is wet (sweat or post-shower).
Hey, this works. And I'm tired of itching. And now parts of my scalp are itching, on top of the ears, face, chest, belly area and groin.

The best way to treat dandruff is to use a dandruff shampoo. Look for shampoos with ingredients such as zinc pyrithone, salicyclic acid, coal tar, selenium silfide, or ketoconazole. All of these ingredients have been shown to work on dandruff; to use the shampoo, apply it to your scalp and hair, rub vigorously, and allow it to sit for five minutes so that the ingredients can work before rinsing it out.

I would check K, D ,Calcium, and Magnesium levels or get a Dr to do it.

We sometimes use Nizoral 2% shampoo (prescription strength) - you leave it on for 3-5 minutes in the shower and rinse. It is an antifungal shampoo. The diet sounds like a strange cure, but it worked for us. Hope it helps you. You have to stick to the diet 100% for it to be effective. Good luck.
