dandruff

17551709 tn?1457744886 I have had dandruff for years. I tried washing my hair with different shampoos, tried washing my hair multiple times per day and even tried several different anti-dandruff shampoos without success. Now I'm going to start using home remedies like apple cider vinegar.
Avatar n tn The dandruff is better when I cut hair short. Sometimes the itching is so irritating that I want to cut hair off!
20900786 tn?1598014440 I hope you can help. I have what I can only describe as huge, thick wad of dead, dry skin on my scalp above m my forehead. It feels awful and it's so irritating. Nothing will make it go away, not even a special shampoo a dermatologist prescribed. It's been awhile since I was seen. What is it, and are there any home remedies I can use? Dandruff shampoo doesn't work.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have dandruff- which the selsun blue shampoo should help, but sometimes it can be resistant to anti-dandruff shampoos for various reasons. You could try some other brands (such as head and shoulders) or you could try some home remedies- lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. If that doesn't work, you may want to head back to your doctor to see if the flakes are indications of another medical condition- it could be something like eczema.
687194 tn?1244811182 I have a very very itchy and flaky scalp. I have tried all the OTC remedies, Sea Breeze and Tea Tree Oil. It is driving me crazy. I wake up in the middle of the night sratching my head. I do not have this problem anywhere else on my body except the scalp. I have to constantly wipe my clothing off. I color my hair but have for years. I have not changed my shampoo or hair products at all. Can someone tell me about a remedy that will help...I will try just about anything!
Avatar n tn instead the shampoos made my hair loss worse and gave me dandruff. I started experiencing severe burning sensation on my scalp. It felt like someone is pouring acid on it. It even felt painful to move my hair in any direction. It was so excruciating I ended up in the urgent care twice. They ran a bunch of thyroid and hormonal tests which came back fine.
Avatar n tn ve tried over the counter t/gel and other anti dandruff shampoos, but the itching drives me crazy. Any suggestions or home remedies I can benefit from. Thanks in advance.

Avatar n tn I've never had any issues with my hair, but all of I've noticed when washing it and brushing it alot more is coming out than normally would. And it is alot thinner in just a couple weeks. My scalp is itchy like no other and I've used ever dandruff shampoo, home remedies, even cortisone cream on my scalp...nothing seems to keep the itch away.
Avatar f tn Oh lord!! My last pregnancy I tried EVERYTHING but castor oil. Just let baby come when ready. All those other things will aid in your labour though. I did raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil, sex, walking, bouncing on a yoga ball, eating pineapple....I don't think I ate spicy food though. And as for pineapple..you have to eat a lot of it in order for it to work well...like A LOT!! All it does is soften your cervix like EPO.
Avatar f tn Feels jus like it did when I was pregnant with my son. (Had back labor) any remedies at home I can try to knock some of this pain off?
Avatar f tn If you can try to look for some yoga for pregnancy or pilates classes. Im doing pilates and its amazing how much it helps me.
Avatar m tn I should mention that my mother suffers from a Candida Albicans overgrowth and I exhibit some of the signs of a similar infection at times. I crave carbs, I have dandruff that is hard to control, and in recent years any little scrape against my skin can turn into a puffy mark for an hour or so. Over the last week and a half I have also been eating a low/zero carb diet and taking herbal remedies to fight any possible candida overgrowth but the penis "rash" or whatever it is persists.
945934 tn?1289046024 It seems to weep and generate a crustiness I noticed. I have tried dandruff shampoo, neosporin, lotion, tea tree oil, and plain petroleum jelly. All have worked to a point, but the itchiness and scaly skin still continue. It comes off in flakes. I do wear glasses and use a headband when I go to the gym which I thought caused it. Keep it clean and dry after showers but it hasn't helped. Anyone have something that works?
Avatar f tn Does anyone know any good remedies for dry skin? I have horrible dry skin and no lotion is helping not even coco butter.
Avatar n tn I had big pimples with puss all over my body and mostly on face and dry skin on face and too much dandruff conditions, But no constipation. I do yoga every morning 5 days a week for 1 hour from past 3 years . My family doctor sent me to blood work. He called me again to tell that the medicine strength need to be increased. Is there any way to keep this thyroid level under control? How far the green smoothies (spinach and fruits smoothies) help for hypothyroidism?
Avatar f tn so I hate to break the bad news-lol-the baby will come when ready-I did sex-yoga-pressure points-walking-ALL the things you will find on the internet MINUS drinking castor oil-I was not doing that-lol-all it did was put me in extreme pain from the contractions BUT it didn't do anything to help dilate-so there I was for 2 weeks constant contractions and trips to labor and delivery all in vain-after that I have up-my son was still 3 days overdue
1443810 tn?1287151876 Does anyone know some natural remedies?I have a bad back so yoga is out of the question for the time being, and i"m freshly sober from alcohol for 4 days( I was self medicating)I want to start fresh and get all the chemicals out of my system one at a time. Please any advice will help!
Avatar f tn I did prenatal yoga once a week and that was a huge help with gentle exercises and stretches to help alleviate back discomfort. I've also heard that maternity support belts can be a huge help, but I did not try them while I was pregnant. Good luck!
651235 tn?1224882359 There are many people who swear by certain literature, some by herbal remedies, some by yoga and some by a combination of these and other natural approaches. And some of us have needed medication. There is no one "right" way for all of us. I would suggest you see a doctor to first rule out any medical reasons for your anxiety and perhaps a Naturopathic doctor would be the better choice for you.
Avatar f tn I've tried some herbal remedies and some sort of worked but ad-vair works the best for me. I am some day going to take Buteyko classes and maybe yoga. I'm thinking that anything that helps with how you breath is worth a try. About the atenolol, it works great for slowing your heart rate down but if you have circulation issues in your legs it will make it worse!
10284416 tn?1409029353 Anxiety is all too common these days. Unfortunately, it has been also been a common experience to be put on pharmaceuticals that give you bad side effects and even increase your anxiety. It's unfortunate, because everyone's body chemistry is different and there is really no way to full proof predict how one person will react to a chemical introduced to their body. Have you tried any natural remedies for anxiety?
Avatar f tn s some remedies that people try- walking, sex, bouncing on a yoga ball, eating pineapple, nipple stimulation. But as a nurse I can tell you babies come when they want. And definitely don't try castor oil- while it can give you some contractions, it also causes cramps, diarrhea and dehydration and does cross to the baby. How far along are you?
