I have a very very itchy and flaky scalp. I have tried all the OTC remedies, Sea Breeze and Tea Tree Oil. It is driving me crazy. I wake up in the middle of the night sratching my head. I do not have this problem anywhere else on my body except the scalp. I have to constantly wipe my clothing off. I color my hair but have for years. I have not changed my shampoo or hair products at all. Can someone tell me about a remedy that will help...I will try just about anything!

The dandruff is better when I cut hair short. Sometimes the itching is so irritating that I want to cut hair off!

I've never had any issues with my hair, but all of I've noticed when washing it and brushing it alot more is coming out than normally would. And it is alot thinner in just a couple weeks. My scalp is itchy like no other and I've used ever dandruff shampoo, home remedies, even cortisone cream on my scalp...nothing seems to keep the itch away.

I hope you can help. I have what I can only describe as huge, thick wad of dead, dry skin on my scalp above m my forehead. It feels awful and it's so irritating. Hi, It could be dandruff, which sometimes does affect the armpits or dry skin. Dandruff is due to the excessive shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp. As it is normal for skin cells to die and flake off, a small amount of flaking is normal and in fact quite common. It is supposed to be good both for the oily scalp as well dandruff if any. A good massage of the scalp is also helpful as it ensures an increased blood supply of the scalp and also takes away the oils of the scalp towards the hair. Selaun blue is AWESOME there's also this stuff and I can never remember what its called but its tar something or the other and obviously its brown. I find mine at Walmart and they have an equate brand. It is also amazing. I personally like the way it smells (I'm weird I also like the way laquer thinner smells) anyway it smells like tar but girl.it is awesome too! m going off of what I vaguely remember lol. There are 3 causes for dandruff dry scalp, oily scalp, and a fungus. The condition of your scalp is what is going to tell u which treatment to use. One remedy is ad easy as shampooing everyday and using less conditioner on your scalp. You should also try using a clarifying shampoo and a moisturizing conditioner.

t wash your hair more than needed, over washing can dry out your scalp. Try a coconut oil mask and concentrate it at your scalp/ roots then leave it in for 30 minutes or overnight. You can also buy masks from beauty stores as well.

t anything visible except dandruff, so is my hair loss without scalp disease? My father has dandruff too but not hair loss. so, is my hair loss associated with tinea? Once I did take pills suggested by a dermatologist but that did not really help.

Hi I've just found this forum and I'm delighted! I have to wash my hair EVERY day and by lunchtime it smells bad, more so on my scalp but my hair too! I've tried T-Gel, Nizorel, Vosene, Sulphur shampoo, anti dandruff stuff prescribed by the doctor (who actually didn't believe me, she clearly didn't get close enough!) and I'm starting to get paranoid, not to mention worried about the condition of my hair due to constant washing, drying straightening.

I tried a bunch of more heavy duty OTC shampoos for dandruff, but none worked. I used an essential oils scalp massage and that worked for a bit. Now it is out of control and driving me crazy. One interesting note, at Christmas time I dyed my hair with one of those "intense" colour hair colourings. It burned and tingled my scalp, but afterward my scalp problems were gone for about 4 weeks. No itching, flaking or soreness.

I have been seeing white things in their hair but they easily brush off. It seems like dandruff. This is all located around the ear area. Do I need to worry? I also constantly worry that I have lice..my head is itchy but I also only see what appears to be dandruff.
