Hello, I am having an unbearable time trying to figure out if this mess on top of my head is dandruff or product buildup. A stylist said it was product buildup but no other stylists have mentioned it being that to me. She said it could be because I'm using cheap products...well I am not. I use Joico K-pak reconstruct shampoo and conditioner. On other days, I use Ouidad Curl Quencher Moisturizing Shampoo and conditioner. Once every 2 weeks, I use Paul Mitchell clarifying shampoo three.

Out of my four cats, one has a bad case of dandruff. I bathe him once or twice a year which seems to take care of for the majority of the year. Although, I do feed my cats some dry food I also feed them wet food daily and it has been recommended for cats with dry skin. Fish oils are good to keep the skin moisturized.

Could be the sulphites in the shampoo try a sulphite free shampoo they sell them in most drug stores or online ..

ve read another post on here and they recommend Jason Anti Dandruff Shampoo, has anyone else tried it or had the same issue and come out the other side? If I don't sort it soon I'm going to have to see if I can get the doctor to refer to me a dermatologist or something?

I went to my doctor, and she did no tell my WHY I had the problem, but told me to buy some Special shampoo called "T/sal" and it is therapeutic shampoo. More specifically, Scalp buildup shampoo, and it clears and helps prevent flakes and scalp build-up.
