cymbalta reviews

Iv been taking celexa for the last four years for depression and anxiety and my doctor wants me to try Cymbalta as my celexa is no longer working and I have been suffering from pain that they believe is nerve related. Iv ready alot of reviews on this drug and not sure if its something I want to take, then again, iv read really good reviews on it. Anyone out there ever taken this drug and if so how was your experience with it.

I have been on Cymbalta for about a year and a half. Before Cymbalta I was on Effexor and before that Zoloft. Out of the 3, Cymbalta has been the best for me. It works well, but it did VERY well for the first 2 months. I felt very happy and always in a good mood. I tried Lexapro once but it made me always down and in a bad mood.

Feeling pretty down does anyone have anything good to say about cymbalta.? I have high anxiety as well as lupus and a hep c treatment on the horizon. I know they will give me an anti depressant and I was hoping for some input. Most others make me feel bad.

I have gained alot of weight taking cymbalta. Is there any way to lose weight while on this medication. I exercise daily and watch what I eat but it has not helped.

I had some gastro pain a couple of weeks after vic was introduced (week 10), this resolved after a couple of weeks. HGB, Platelets, WBCs and ANC were all normal prior to tx and became quite low. Rescue drugs were necessary to keep going. I was in a trial and completed a 43 week tx 6 months ago. It was tough but ok as I pretty much expected. Good luck with your treatment, what week are you in?

You are explaining my diagnosis exactly-I began Cymbalta and Lyrica February 2008.It truly helped the nerve pain and brought my muscle pain down to almost manageable.The medication that you are on I would think would be extremely dangerous. They are very addictive and they are only a stop gap for the pain you are going through. Depression is a real waste of time and it pulls you down into a dark and deep. pit. I believe when we grieve for a loved one we are grieving for ourselves.

I hope I said that right....and said Lyrica or Cymbalta..He said these 2 meds are successful in being used for pain but he does not want to put me on ALL kinds of meds..If he can treat both issues with 1 he can be satisfied, if not we will look at the other option....He also told me a story of a study of a patient with neuropathic pain from diabetes and said this med was used and worked well for..... So...follow up in 3 months..AND do not hesitate to call me if anything happens....

I read a lot of HORRIBLE reviews about cymbalta and wont go that route. I would rather deal with the pain then have the long term withdrawls and all that ****.

Hi, My doctor wants to put me on cymbalta for nerve pain that I have been having from an injury I have from 2005. It's nerve pain from a fall I took. He says it will help to calm down the nerves and signals from my brain to help with the pain. The prescription is for 30mg, 1 tab a day then increase to 2 tabs and recheck with him in a month. I'm alittle scared to take this, as I have never had to go on this kind of medicene and I'm afraid what the side effects might do.

Only took Cymbalta for 3 months but had side effects of being off balance lightheaded feeling like I am walking in a boat now I being taken off the drug and having nightmares the sweats headaches anyone had this experience with this drug?

So I took my first Cymbalta today. Other than Paxil, nothing else has worked for me (Lexapro and Effexor). Anyone have any good experiences with Cymbalta? Just wondering what I'm in for this time... Thanks!!

Would you recommend stopping Effexor and switching to Cymbalta? Will Cymbalta reduce the withdrawal effect? My daughters were both recently put on Cymbalta, and their depression is much better, and they claim they are "thinking more clearly". Thanks for your input.

Did your doc just tell you to stop the Effexor and start the Cymbalta? What dose of Effexor are you stopping at, and what dose of Cymbalta are you starting at? Some people have seamless transitions, while others report some symptoms of a discontinuation syndrome, like you mentioned above. Hopefully, you'll have a smooth transition. Definitely let us know how you're feeling.

I have tried it all! Everybody is different. I am on 60mg of Cymbalta. I can't not take it though because it messes me up (if my insurance is messing around etc...) but if youre ready to be consistent, I'd try it.

HI I am going to the doctor on the 13th of june to get on an antidepressant.

That being said, her doctor was wise to switch her over to another medication like Cymbalta. 30Mgs of Cymbalta is a good starting point and this gives him option to ramp the dosage up as needed. Regardless of this fact, Cymbalta, May or may not be an effective medication for her. I tried Cymbalta for 7 weeks at 60Mgs per day (after 4 years on Effexor) and in my case it did NOTHING to help with my condition.

Hello LA, Thanks so much for the response to my rant yesterday. I feel better today. Still have the double vision but like always my friends here cheer me up. To answer your question. I was on Cymbalta for about 6 weeks. I asked to be taken off of it. It was making me feel strange. Very "short Fused", irritated, grouchy. I started taking Effexor when this started and I went back to it just a higher dose now. I have seen where people here have got on it and it has helped very well.

Cymbalta made my depression worse and made me pretty nauseated. But then, I never do respond to psychotropic drugs or antidepressants very well.

My Dr. wanted me to try low dose Cymbalta for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and did not have the 30 mg samples so i was given the 60 mg with instructions to empty the capsules into food, as this would reduce the dose by approximately half. I became very ill with vomiting and severe diarreah. I was up all night running to the bathroom and was concerned when i looked up information on cymbalta that said not to open capsules.
