Cymbalta for fibromyalgia reviews

Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta for fibromyalgia reviews

cymbalta

1442059 tn?1340244552 I was on Cymbalta for 5 months. Only side-effects I had was nausea for about 1 week then it went away. Cymbalta was very energetic and helped me going thru the hard time I was dealing when my mom had cancer. When she passed I stopped cold turkey and had brain zaps for 1 month. This drug is very potent and can work very well but it's not a cheap drug and cost a lot. I was very active while being on Cymbalta (going to the gym 3-4 times a week and jogging 45 min everyday) and very outgoing.
710094 tn?1229312306 It could be contributed to fibromyalgia, but I pray that you are still under a physicians care for your gastric problem because your symptoms could be a result of that as well. Also, prior to adding any form of herbal, homeopathic or vitamins to your diet please check with your physician. Some can have serious interactions with prescribed medications or other over-the-counter drugs. I hope you are feeling better soon. Take care.
Avatar n tn I've been on Cymbalta for 3 years. I have fibromyalgia and depression from the loss of my spouse. this drug helps with both. I have been able to function as normal as possible. The only odd experience was the lucid dreams I was getting when I was first put on 60mg once a day. Because I take another antidepressant in the Trycyclic family there may be some counter action involved. But the horrible lucid dreams stopped as soon as the dose was lowered.
Avatar f tn I'm going to ask my doctor about this. I'm using the Cymbalta for the fibro and depression. But I'd love to hear how it works for you. Oh wouldn't that be nice if this is the wonder drug!
Avatar m tn Maybe I missed someone else posting it, but Savella is for fibromyalgia. Go look at the reviews on drugs.com. Some people said that it had absolutely cured them. Of course others hated it. It made me nauseated. I take Trazodone which also helps me to sleep for my fibromyalgia which has helped me tremendously. The suggestions above will be much cheaper for you, but I bought a Migun table which sends heated jade balls along your body and up and down as well.
Avatar n tn However do we not have to give them some credit for currently conducting trials to get this drug out of the mix for treatment of HCV. My post here is not to minimize the way some folks are troubled by after effects of treatment and I am certainly not one of the so called naysayers of the harm they may cause.
591546 tn?1244640145 I have heard mixed reviews on Lyrica. For some it is a miracle, but others, like you, get no relief. Lyrica works on nerve pain. I hope your doctor will give you something for joint and muscle pain and do ask for a generic. The combination of darvocet and flexeril does wonders for me, but I can only take them together at night. Please do let us know what happens.
Avatar f tn Depression is a real waste of time and it pulls you down into a dark and deep. pit. I believe when we grieve for a loved one we are grieving for ourselves. I still expect my beautiful husband to come through the back door with his fishing pole and tackle box. He died at the age of 52. Sometimes I talk to him and know someway that it a good therapy for me. I also read the paper out loud to him.Someday he will know that kept him my life in a healthy-happy-realistic ways.
Avatar n tn Some people take strong medications like Percocet for fibro but I stay away from that. The new medications for fibro are Cymbalta and Lyrica but they are not without side effects so I'm still unsure as to whether I will try them or not. I do use heating pads, I use them on my bad shoulder and back. Using a full lengh heating pad would be too much as I get night sweats (menopause) and I would be sweating up a storm at night.
Avatar f tn I have lived with muscle pain for 40 yrs. and fibromyalgia 20. I have degenerative disc disease and most of my cervical and lumbar discs are in the past. There have been times when I have been able to keep the fibro in abeyance, but when my muscles go into massive spasms, I have been having fibro with headaches that causes me to have floaties in my vision and feels like my head is in a vise. I would like to know more about the lidocaine infusion. I've everything over and over again.
1767882 tn?1331412769 I thought I would see if someone here may have some insight into an ongoing problem a friend of mine is having. She's 40 yrs old, suffers from migraines, takes Effexor for depression and thinks she may have fibromyalgia. She's chronically fatigued, has a lot of trouble sleeping, and she's now having a persistent pain in her lower back that wraps around to her chest and is extremely difficult to get rid of. Last night she took 4 perc 10s and it barely touched it.
Avatar n tn I ve had fibro for 12 years and i m 27 took cymbalta and it did nothing for my pain at all!! Then my doctor put me on savella it s only been 4 days and i feel sick to my stomach and have a horrible head ach!! Donno if i should continue taking this med if i m just gonna have withdraweral symptoms!! I was doing fine with dealing with the symptoms just taking muscle relaxers and ibuprofen. But this year i was in a car accident and it really made my symptoms ten times worse.
Avatar f tn What gets me is that the med i am on and the dosage is for neuropathic pain not anxiety or stress. My mother has fibromyalgia and for almost a decade complained of pain but was told it was anxiety, which fair enough for her she does have some issues where that is concerned. However I do not!
900697 tn?1246542502 Fibromyalgia is a sore spot for me. (ok, that came out funny but you know what I mean.) Fibro is real, but when your other condition is treated the fibro pain disappears. Can you get to Jacksonville to see a doctor on your insurance? It may seem far, but if you find a good doctor, it is worth the trip. A large number of my rheumy's patients actually come from out of state to see him. (I considered that to bode well.
1693900 tn?1306296819 LOL I am familiar with it all...YUK What I have to assume you are experiencing Fibromyalgia. There is pain for absolutely no reason. Some areas are far more sensitive than others, but it could be your jaws one day and your shins the next. Fibro is a nerve issue. Do you feel like a walking bruise? Are you "exhausted" all the time? Sleep patterns poor? Ativan will help fibro, because its an opiate.
193953 tn?1272078626 I have chronic pain from spinal fusion, and fibromyalgia. It does something for nerve pain that no opiate has ever been able to do for me. My main side effect is some fluid retention in the hands and feet, and feeling not mentally sharp at times. I just had to stop taking it as I didn't have money for my copay....normally this would put me flat on my back, but my dr gave me samples of celebrex and I'm doing ok on it and without lyrica.
Avatar n tn To be honest, the person who wrote that she's suffered from Fibromyalgia for 20 years and she's only 32, doesn't realize that she doesn't actually have Fibromyalgia, but most likely a Thyroid disorder or something else. Fibromyalgia pain onset does not begin until a person is in their mid-twenties (on very rare occasions, it can begin in late teens, early twenties).
1397091 tn?1296580318 have been struggling with migrains and firbro for awhile now and my husband always seemed understanding. Last night he tells me I'm an addict. Wonderful feeling let me tell you. The only pain med I take on a regulary basis in Fiorocet. It helps the headaches and loosens my neck up. At most I may take 6 on a bad day but usually I take 2-3. I had been using melotonin to help me sleep(mind you not everynight) due to the pain keeping me up.
Avatar m tn etc) treatment includes treating any underlying condition (if any is detected), and symptomatic treatment for pain control, several medications can be used, like Neurontin, Lyrica, Cymbalta...etc. Thanks for using the forum. Good luck.
Avatar m tn That doesn't mean you shouldn't be reluctant about 'over-prescribers'!! Ask for refferals, and read reviews and ask your wife for help for insight into those reviews as to why ppl. wrote what they did. If you can find a good dr. it will be well worth it in my opinion. I'm very thankful I did. Just to let you know though, a good dr. may take a while to get into, that's why you should start looking now.
190559 tn?1280615967 I have never moved moutains as fast as today. I feel Debbie - what was offered medically with this doctor I talked with today will definately be a step in the right direction. Here is some keys points you and I discussed to get this doctor the information she needs to do the evaluation if you chose to see her next week. 1. gather up her recent labs she had done and get a hardcopy of the report. A. - look that over and see if the Free T3 and Free T4 along with TSH was done. 1a.
20003388 tn?1515169640 I do also take Prozac and Cymbalta but the Prozac and Cymbalta are blunting the effect of each other due to liver enzyme competition. I am tapering off the Cymbalta and will be asking for a dose increase of my Prozac tomorrow since I'm only on 20 mg.
Avatar f tn I have been on Lyrica for a year for fibromyalgia pain. For the last 3 months my dose has been 300 mg , 100 am 200 pm. I also took Cymblata and the combination relieved 95% of my fibro pain. I recently ran out of meds because I have no insurance and had to pay 150. to see the Dr before she refilled it. OMG....I have a whole new outlook on those addicted to drugs now. I started with a horrible headache and then the nausea and vomiting.
Avatar f tn My pain managment NP was hoping that the Cymbalta and PT would help me enough to gradually get off the hydrocodone (and so was I) but the Cymbalta seemed to work for a short period now it has tapered off. I am having quite a bit of discomfort all over. I am a nurse and don't want to be getting on too strong of pain meds, but on the flip side don't know how long I can handle this pain either. It starts to affect all aspects of your life.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Topomax for one month. My doc prescribed it for me for weight loss.( 50 mg/day) I have not lost a pound...nor have I lost my appetite. Irritability? Yes. Weight Loss--no. I am on Zoloft 50mg/day for depression for 11 years now. Does anyone know if Zoloft can deter the weight loss? I have been struggling with my weigbt for so long and have heard of people having such positive reults from Topomax. Any advice from anyone?
Avatar n tn mistake leaving my bile tube clamped for 10 days and other, allergies, fibromyalgia ( I believe from all my research that Dr's may be pinning things on this diagnosis when they cannot find out what the true cause is). I think there is something else going on causing the numbness, tingling, joint pain and cracking (other than the avascular necrosis in my hips). I was vit D deficient and now on supplements.
Avatar n tn You have never posted even ONE study to back up your exhaustive claim that tx for Hep C causes long term side effects, the reason for that is obvious, they don't exist.
