How far on are you.... "real" contractions should be regular, timeable, should increase in intensity and frequency. "false" contractions may vary in strength - ie some might hurt bad, others may be mildly uncomfortable. Some may come at regular intervals ie 5 every 10 min then a longer gap til next one etc. my midwife akways recommends taking two paracetamol, having a hot bath, something cold to drink and lying down on your left side.
