Yes, clindamycin is good for bacterial infections which is what you have and also helps with acne/pimples.
Im 20 years old. I have acne scars and pimples . I went to a Dermatologist and he recommended me to use adapalene & clindamycin phosphate gel but now my face gets burning sensation and has got shine wherever I used that product. also the pimples which I had is turning into some kind of mark. I discontinued using after 10 days. Will it be proper by itself?
Since I turned 25, I started getting pimples here and there. The acne worsened throughout the year into cystic acne on the cheeks when I moved overseas. I lived overseas for a year, then moved back to the states, where all my acne disappeared for two months. It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now.
I have been getting pimples on my buttocks since I can remember, but then it would be just 1 or 2.
Now I have clusters, they do not itch and if I wasn't paying attention I wouldn't know they were there.
I do have HSV (genital). And I take my medication strickly on and outbreak basis, however when I have had an outbreak I notice I do not have any pimples on my buttocks.
I do not always have these pimples there sometimes my face really breaks out also.
7 months ago a have unproductive sex with women I just known in a trip , two days after a developed a rash on each side of my Buttock the rash appears like pimples (hard and can't squeeze them) they appears spiritedly from each other not like group . the color is red and measured like 0.5 cm to 1 cm after that they turn to Broun color then they disappears and left unpleasant hyper pigmented area (scars)

Any acne medication takes time to act and it is important to stick to particular regime for significant improvement. You should wash your face with a nonirritating, pH-balanced cleanser to decrease inflammation. Avoid scrubbing the face. Do not pop or pick at pimples. A correct nutritional balance and skin care will be helpful. Drink plenty of water every day. Take 7-8 hours of sleep daily. Have a balanced diet rich in vitamin A, zinc and rich in multivitamins.
I got my face covered with pimples acne blackheads and sunburn too according to the doctor. May be I was getting unkowning affected since many years but got all the symptoms altogether last year after my second baby got one year old.

I'm 17, These pimples are in my bikini area, i've never had sex, no oral sex, and nobody in my family has herpes and they appear on my bikini area or on my butt. they hurt and appear as small dots but then you can feel a big lump underneath them, i also see that they are whiteheads as well, how do i get rid of these? should i use powder in case of chaffing or sweating? they really hurt and i dont know what to do about them!

I have not tried anything, just let it clear up on its own. I have had these "pimples" all over my arms and chest as long as I can remember. Would you suggest I goto a Derm. for review?
Hi! I have had an itchy rash on the back of my head for the past 8 years. It is reddish, mostly flat with some raised bumps (some become pimples). There are areas of red that coalesce and thicker areas of skin. I have tried washing with Selsun Blue shampoo before, and occasionally tried Clindamycin gel on my skin with little improvement. Can anyone suggest a diagnosis and a cure? I have included the picture below.
I was sent to a Dermatologist who prescribed 1% Clindamycin in Elidel cream for the morning and Protopic Ointment .1% for the evening. During that period, I have had small pimples come and go (within a few days) on my legs, thighs and buttocks. I have also recently have developed a rash on my chest and face (same colour as the groin rash and feels hot).
Ive never had a problem with pimples before but now my chin keeps breaking out. The pimples i keep getting are cystic acne. They hurt really bad and nothing helps them go away. This is currently what i use on my face: Face wash with .5% salicylic acid and another facewash with 3.5% benzoyl peroxide. I MAKE SURE to take really good care of my skin but it dosent seem to work. Also i have a prescription face medication cream called BenzaClin which is 1% clindamycin and 5% Benzoyl peroxide.
hello, to all my new hepc friends,was wondering if anyone else w/ cronic hepc has had a problem with acne ,i'm getting tiny little pimples all over my forhead and cheeks too,i've been useing which hazel on them seems to help a bit,now i've never really had acne even as a teen ,not even sure if its related to hcv ?if anyone can answer me if this is from hcv or what i can do about it ty?
Hi, sounds a lot like what I have now. I’ve had it for a year. It was very mild in the beginning and now my flare ups are more constant. I have been 2 the derm 2x...she gave me clindamycin gel, Sulfacleanse and contact dermatitis cream. I also am currently on doxycycline to see if that helps but nothing is helping....it’s gotten worse. It’s mainly on my jawline also and the bumps never really disappear just descrease in red was and size.
Over the past 2-3 years, I’ve been getting these extremely itchy pimples randomly on my forehead and, on rare occasions, other t-zone areas. The areas start out very much like a hive (red, blotchy, extremely itchy skin), but, unlike hives, end up leaving a red papule with the occasional white center that stick around for days to weeks. To provide some context, this all started after seeking treatment for mild acne (whiteheads on my forehead and extremely oily skin) about 3 years ago.
I wouldn't even treat for "possible infection" with either. I'd wait for test results to come back to see if you even have either of them.
clindamycin isn't going to help for either if you should be infected with either of them. you are wasting your time and money by taking it.
I have what sounds like exactly the same thing on my philtrum (below my nose, above my lips), the skin is often itchy or sore, never breaks of bleeds, and i do not have acne.
I have been given antibacterial creams, antibiotics, hydrocourtizone and nothing seems to be shifting it.
Flu could have been you just getting sick.
Oral sex is a low risk for herpes. We don't even recommend testing for it. If you haven't had a type specific igg hsv blood test to know your own status you might want to get one. Though please wait for 3 months after your last sexual encounter.
