Avatar m tn I am having Acne vulgaris on my face for the past seven years. Now I am 20 and I am Male. I used to take some ointments(clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide) but that had only temporary effects. Of late, I have started taking medications on the advice of a doctor who says that I have reached the Gr.IV satge of acne. It is given as follows: Isotretinoin 20 mg twice daily, body weight being 50 kg.
Avatar f tn I would call your dr immediately and get switched to another antibiotic and see if you need to go to er. I am currently on penicillin for my tooth infection after root canal. It is working for me and not many issues.
Avatar m tn I had to have a root canal redone as my previous dentist did not get the whole nerve and it became infected. The Dentist put me on amoxicillin 875mg twice a day, after 6 days I called him as it was having no effect. he then put me on clyndamycin 300mg twice a day, this is day two, it seemed better this morning and by this afternoon it isswelling slightly the tissue above my tooth is spongie again and I can tell it's filling with pus.
Avatar f tn I’m a 26 year old male and have had acne since I was 12. I have tried so many different medications and treatments but none seem to work long-term and afternoon 14 years of this I am very frustrated and just don’t know what to do. Avatar f tn I am taking 400 mg of Spironolactone for acne and 10 mg of Klonopin once a day for anxiety. Can I take these drugs until I become pregnant? Or do I have to stop now? Also my husband had a vasectomy reversal August 2013 and I have one blocked tube can I get pregnant. GYN wants me to take clomid.
Avatar m tn Hi there, Any acne medication takes time to act and it is important to stick to particular regime for significant improvement. You should wash your face with a nonirritating, pH-balanced cleanser to decrease inflammation. Avoid scrubbing the face. Do not pop or pick at pimples. A correct nutritional balance and skin care will be helpful. Drink plenty of water every day. Take 7-8 hours of sleep daily. Have a balanced diet rich in vitamin A, zinc and rich in multivitamins.
Avatar m tn The acne worsened throughout the year into cystic acne on the cheeks when I moved overseas. I lived overseas for a year, then moved back to the states, where all my acne disappeared for two months. It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now.
Avatar f tn t even ask my name and prescribed doxycycline, clindamycin and retin-a. I have been using faithfully, but this acne is still SOOO itchy and painful to even move my face or to open my mouth to eat. I have no idea what happened all of the sudden and why it doesn't go away all of the sudden too! I think that I would take accutane because I am at a loss. Have tried so many things!!
Avatar f tn Ask for doctor prescription. I read on pregnancy book that Clindamycin+Benzoyl Peroxide works.
Avatar f tn If the acne persist then you may need topical antibiotics like Clindamycin cream for which you should consult a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Avatar f tn ve suffered pretty bad back acne for years now, and I was wondering if back acne (especially cystic type) can lead to swollen lymph nodes? Specifically, the persistent swollen node I am referencing is the supra-vascular. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I have acne all over my face and have had it for a while. Just when it looked like it was clearing up it got worse.
Avatar m tn Yes, clindamycin is good for bacterial infections which is what you have and also helps with acne/pimples.
1364054 tn?1346005167 Hello, Unfortunately I am unaware of sona gel but clindamycin is one the best treatments for acne vulgaris. Continue taking the doxycycline capsules and try for cleocin gel which contains clindamycin. Also keep you face clean by washing with a mild soap atleast twice a day.Pat it dry and do not rub it.Avoid picking or pressing the acne. You can also use Benzoyl peroxide 5% lotion or gel once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face.
Avatar f tn Hello, Back and shoulder acne are quite difficult to treat compared to acne on other parts of the body. Thoroughly wash your body everyday, especially the back and shoulder part using a back brush and frequently change your bed sheet, as it is conducive for bacterial growth. Engage in a diet that is low in sugar and fat but is rich in vitamins. This prevents acne by preventing the buildup of excess oil on the skin. Also refrain from touching or squeezing your shoulder acne.
