I had to have a root canal redone as my previous dentist did not get the whole nerve and it became infected. The Dentist put me on amoxicillin 875mg twice a day, after 6 days I called him as it was having no effect. he then put me on clyndamycin 300mg twice a day, this is day two, it seemed better this morning and by this afternoon it isswelling slightly the tissue above my tooth is spongie again and I can tell it's filling with pus.
The clindamycin for cats is normally in liquid form... b/c the dosage is so small compared to what a human would use...its pretty hard to cut down a 250mg tablet to the 25mg range...
is it liquid you have?
there are Clinics on call always for emergency situations, I would think since you have a nursing back ground a clinic may prescribe an antibiotic without needing to necessarily bring the cat in for an exam...I would try this first.

They calledme bavk Wednesday to tell me that I tested positive for chlamydia. They prescribed me Clindamycin. The dosage is 300mg 4 times a day for 7 days. But I can't take it. It makes me so sick and makes me feel like my throat is swelling closed. Anybody else experienced this? Or know what else I can take? I'm going to call my OB in the morning. But I'm scared they are going to tell me that there is nothing else for me. Ugh.

I have had sexual encounter with an individual (receiving oral only) back in March 08 and developed Molluscum contagiosum per my dermatologist and prior to that i had protected intercourse and unprotected oral back in December 07 . I approached a dermatologist back in August getting concerned and used clindamycin on the lesions. it hadn't helped, hence the doctor applied some ointment on my last two visits.
So my LLMD has me on the following medications: Amoxicillin, Clindamycin, and Capadex (for my stomach problems). My dosage of the antibiotics are very high and I will be taking it for about 2 months. He believes I may H pyelori as well as Lymes because of my reoccurring ulcers. I am getting a more sensitive test for h Pyelori as well. I am also taking or about to Amrix for muscle pain. Has anyone taken this?
I was prescribed clindamycin after experiencing pain in my tooth after a root canal. I took a double dose (600mg) of clindamycin as I missed a dose. I am experiencing severe pain from my chest through to my back. It feels like spasms and is difficult to breath. I normally take nexium on a daily basis; however I missed my dose of that too. I did take my nexium but I have felt absolutely no relief whatsoever.
Now I am 20 and I am Male. I used to take some ointments(clindamycin,benzoyl peroxide) but that had only temporary effects. Of late, I have started taking medications on the advice of a doctor who says that I have reached the Gr.IV satge of acne.
It is given as follows: Isotretinoin 20 mg twice daily, body weight being 50 kg.

in urgent care and prescribed clindamycin e150 mg pills....3 pills 3x per day (12 pills) she is 15 and 119 lbs. Was not diagnosed with ANYTHING. Hi, I took Clindamycin 300 mg 3x a day. I only finished 12 out of 21 pills as I feared the high risk of colitis associated with this drug. My question is that after stopping the medication about 3 days ago, I am having long (6"+), loose stools. Could this be c. diff? I also have a lot of gas throughout the day, some mild abdominal pain too.
has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects.
HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
After another round of tests and a visit to my LLMD, he pronounced my kidneys "back to normal." Yay!! He upped my dose of clindamycin and said in a month to switch to doxy. He wanted to wait until we're further into fall weather as I am very fair skinned. First time I will have taken doxy, and it'll be just shy of a year from diagnosis.
I feel every dosage increase and new antibiotic I take.
Amoxicillin is fine if it's the correct antibiotic. Dental infections can be from either an aerobic bacteria or anaerobic bacteria. Having the correct antibiotic is VERY important.
I urge you to at least call your dentist for approval before you treat a dental abscess yourself.
Amoxicillin may be fine, but you may need something like clindamycin instead.
Also, it's very important that a FULL dose is taken for dental infections.
So basically i was put on prozac 40mg a day. Im 14 and it was liquid prozac. So for liquid prozac for every 5ml you take thats 20mg in pill form. My doctor thought it was for every 5ml of the liquid it is 10mg or the prozac pill form. So anyways.... I told my doctor and she put me back down to 20mg. Now when i was on the 40mg my mind was clear and i was happy. Now..... Since iv been put back on 20mg my thoughts have came back and i fear it wont work again. Any advice?
She said two of the tests there were some count of white cells.. The vet put my cat on two drops of liquid Clindamycin. Now it is two weeks now..I have been giving my cat the drops. The sneezing has not really gone a way yet...I called the vet and the vet lab worker told me to give it more time and to finish the medicine. The vet gave me two bottles to finish... t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.
He put me on different multiple month long trails of clindamycin, bactrim ,Levofloxacin, doxycycline, and and all of them did the same thing, while on them the symptoms go away but as SOON as i finish the dosage the symptoms come right back. He even did test on me where he put me to sleep and looked in my penis with a tiny camera. as well as sent me to a lab where they tested to see if their was a blockage to see if something was blocking my pee passageway. nothing.
When I squeeze my urethra from behind to forepart, there is a little liquid come out, the liquid is clear in most cases, but sometimes is yellow or white. I went to hospital and see a doctor, the doctor believe it is a minor bacterial infection and gave me some Clindamycin to eat. A few days later, I felt better, but the symptoms did not disappear completely. The urethra still itching sometimes, but the itch just last for several seconds.
I have two failed implants due to infection which did not respond to Clindamycin. I also got a bad reaction to Clindamycin a feeling of big lump in throat, sore throat and severe heartburn. In spite of the fact that I drank at least 10ounces of water with each pill.
My question is since I'm allergic to penicillin. What antibiotic is effective for teeth and gum infections????

Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
