I had to have a root canal redone as my previous dentist did not get the whole nerve and it became infected. The Dentist put me on amoxicillin 875mg twice a day, after 6 days I called him as it was having no effect. he then put me on clyndamycin 300mg twice a day, this is day two, it seemed better this morning and by this afternoon it isswelling slightly the tissue above my tooth is spongie again and I can tell it's filling with pus.

Actually its easy to create a 25mg amount out of a 250mg, if they are capsules you disolve it in 2.5mls of water and each .5mls is 50mgs.
Seeing an oral surgeon to eliminate the source of infection is advised. Although clindamycin is narrow spectrum antibiotics, it is highly effctive for bone infection.
About 5 weeks ago I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed, and the oral surgeon prescribed me Clindamycin to prevent infection. He believes I may H pyelori as well as Lymes because of my reoccurring ulcers. I am getting a more sensitive test for h Pyelori as well. I am also taking or about to Amrix for muscle pain. The redoing of the root canal then caused the infection to go completely out of control even though I was on clindamycin. It was so bad that anitbiotics had no effect and it had to be drained ( a most painful procedure). After the draining, slowly it went away. Then on Dec. 29th I had apical surgery to take care of the root canal. My cheek continued to swell even 5 days after the surgery. Today, Saturday, I went back to the oral surgeon.
I was prescribed clindamycin after experiencing pain in my tooth after a root canal. I took a double dose (600mg) of clindamycin as I missed a dose. I am experiencing severe pain from my chest through to my back. It feels like spasms and is difficult to breath. I normally take nexium on a daily basis; however I missed my dose of that too. I had missed one dose of the clindamycin. The er doctor gave me again clindamycin via iv. My face swelled up again but started pussing at my gums after a while. She told me to keep taking it despite the swelling and sent me home with a follow up oral surgeon. I didn't take it all night and my face had gone down to half the size by morning! It felt so much better and lighter. I couldnt get a hold of my dentist or the oral surgeon to ask their opinion on continuing with this antibiotic.
m using the clindamycin lotion twice daily, but progress has sort of plateaued. The clindamycin will get it to the point where it forms some new skin over the top but then starts to crack and peel again, and I'm back to square one.

My dentist uncovered the implant and did a bone graft over the top of the implant where the infection had eaten the bone away. He soaked it in clindamycin and I took clindamycin orally afterwards.
Six weeks after that, I started feeling bad again. My dentist put me on another round of clindamycin coupled with metronidazole. A 3D CONE x-ray showed that there was infection behind the top of the implant. This time, I had an oral surgeon uncover the implant and clean it out.

I'm not sure if it's bacteria in the back of my throat behind my tonsils. Do people normally have food particles? I'm still taking medicine, Clindamycin. I've taken like 21 pills and have 7 left but the white stuff behind my tonsils isn't going away. Only the white stuff on my tonsils went away.
The main 2 antibiotics dentists like in the US are Amoxicillin and Clindamycin. However, if Cipro has worked for you in the past, there is no reason your dentist can't prescribe that for you instead (other than drug interactions if you are taking other meds). Talk to your dentist about it. Clindamycin is a great antibiotic, but its usually better for more severe infections and it does tend to cause a lot of GI problems. Azithromycin is also good if Clindamycin makes you that sick.
Second, about a week before the incident I had a root canal and because of a gum or tissue infection in the area of the tooth I had been on Clindamycin for about five days, would that lower my chances of getting oral ghonorrea or would the prior infection raise them? Finally, there were no visible sores in her vaginal area so I know this lowers the Herpes risk, but does my being diabetic raise it and if I had gotten HSV 1 or genital type on my mouth how long until sores would appear.
Hi, I took Clindamycin 300 mg 3x a day. I only finished 12 out of 21 pills as I feared the high risk of colitis associated with this drug. My question is that after stopping the medication about 3 days ago, I am having long (6"+), loose stools. Could this be c. diff? I also have a lot of gas throughout the day, some mild abdominal pain too.
There are several rather unusual aspects to your question which make me wonder if you might want to see another health care provider for a second opinion. It would be unusual to get molluscum from oral sex and clindamycin is not typical treatment (on the other hand it is typical treatment for folliculitis which can resemble molluscum). More often the dermatologists would freeze molluscum lesions with liquid nitrogen or remove them some other way. In answer to your questions:
