Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a bladder infection and a vaginal infection. I assume its bacterial vaginosis because my doctor prescribed Bactrim and Metrogel. But because I have Raynaud's Syndrome, I can't use Metrogel. So my doctor has now prescribed Cipro. But how would either one help with the vaginosis? And as for the bladder infection, couldn't I just take one because they both treat UTIs?

1882332 tn?1320713144 Hello, Your symptoms are suggestive of bacterial vaginosis. In addition to unpleasant "fishy" vaginal odor, thin white or yellowish discharge from vagina may also be present. Diagnosis can be confirmed after pelvic examination and microscopic examination of the vaginal discharge. Treatment is by metronidazole and clindamycin. I hope it helps.

Avatar f tn Hello, Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of abnormal vaginal odor and discharge. It is caused by a change in the type of bacteria found in the vagina. The exact cause for the change in type of bacteria is still not known, but it is can be due to IUD’s,multiple sex partners or having intercourse with a new partner. In addition to unpleasant "fishy" vaginal odor, thin white or yellowish discharge from vagina may also be present.
Avatar f tn I've had bv multiple times and I've had it with this pregnacy as well as my first you will be perfectly okay to wait until you get paid.. I would definitely wait to treat it until you have them confirm thats what it is.. only causes concern when left untreated for long periods of time:) for now I'd try to use unscented soaps and only wash with water... seems off since bv causes a smell but I was told and have found that soap can cause your ph levels to go wacky and that can cause bv.
Avatar f tn Hi i have been getting bacterial vaginosis for a long time and have metronidazol gel on repeat prescription i quite often get aches and pains all over my body and lower abdominal pain like a period pain is this connected ?
Avatar m tn Well just this Monday I decided to go the doctor(2 Weeks of agony, yes I am dumb). He gave me some clindamycin b/c he said it was probably just an infection from the clippers (He didn't even look down there, cheap doctor). I have been taking those, and putting some Desoximetasone cream down there, and it seems to be a lot better than before, but it still has slight itching between my legs, someone help me please.

Avatar m tn I think that I may have a bacterial or yeast infection. I took 2 over the counter vaginial screening kits and i also i feel a bit discomfort and my discharge is maybe a pale white..sort of watery and thick..It stated I had a bacterial infection. I believe I had it for some time now but never went to the doctor..but im planning on going soon as possible. I Just want to know what can I do to help with the discomfort or even to clear up in the meantime? I dont really smell anything..
Avatar m tn Well I laid it off as a bacterial infection, because everyone told me if he had used them or not, I could not get the disease that way. I have never had sex, so it can not be an STD then, and I have never had these symptoms before. The symptoms seemed to have eased up since I first had the infection, but they have not gone away, even with 2 whole weeks of 2 a day Clindamycin. It has been about 2-2.5 weeks since I have taken the pills.
