Clindamycin and wine

Common Questions and Answers about Clindamycin and wine

267347 tn?1189968425 I went to the dermatologist today for the sores on my face and was prescribed clindamycin. He said this rash/sores could be zits? He looked in his journal and said acne is a symptom of peg. I never heard of that but what do I know? Anyway, I applied the cream and have to admit, it was soothing at first. I've been on the computer all afternoon and could feel my face getting hotter and hotter and assumed it was my fever.
Avatar m tn just wondering if you could help, I have been sexually active with this girl for 5 months starting in may, last sexual contact was september 15th, I was sick 3 weeks ago (september 25th) with sore throat, malaise, one side quite enlarged lymph node, had a painless bump diagnosed as sebacceous cyst on penis shaft. I went to the Doctor he gave clindamycin, and sore throat and lymph node swelling went away after 2 days, cyst went away after 2 weeks slowly regressing.
Avatar m tn Also, be careful with your eyes -- have them checked, wear sunglasses, and artificial tears if dry -- as rosacea can often manifest itself in and around the eyes (ocular rosacea). Lastly, see a good dermatologist for an accurate diagnosis, because if it's rosacea, the condition tends to get worse as you get older if ignored or untreated.
Avatar f tn The medicine didn't bother me, but I was reading on this website earlier today about the connection between clindamycin and arrythmias. I don't know if the abcess or the clidamycin has a factor in what I'm going through, but it is something to look into.
Avatar n tn So, I hope I'm talking about the same stuff y'all are talking about. I like the idea of sitz baths and wine so far and plan to draw myself a bath and pour a little vino even though it's not even noon yet. Let me know what you girls think about this. Let's keep in touch. I feel better just knowing y'all are out there.
Avatar n tn For the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. They continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
Avatar n tn Yesterday morning I finished a 10-day dose of clindamycin for a tooth infection and that seems to have done the trick. I had used Zithromax for 5 days a month ago for a sore throat but that didn't affect the dizziness. The allergist's interpretation for this is that either Zithromax was not the right type of antibiotic or the 5-day treatment was not enough. Depending on the result of the CT scan, I might have to continue taking antibiotics.
Avatar n tn if i had head lice i would be infested with them and so wouldn't my family.i have tried t-gel,head and shoulders, scalpacin and taking benadryl.i do have a little bit of dandruff and the tops of my ears itch.i looked at the pictures for seborrheic dermatitis and my head does not look like that i have a few scabs and the rash on my neck that just came on there this past week.i DO NOT HAVE HEAD LICE she doesn't know what she is talking about.
Avatar f tn Hi Nice to know I am not alone with the sores, I did wear compression stockings while the sore was open, but it did not help one little bit, the sore has now closed with a verythin skin over the wound, which is still very red and sore I have been to a wound doctor and all he did was to dig the infection out, ut as the clot is still there, he said it is going to take a long time to heal properly now I have no insurance so cannot afford to get any further treatment My doctor tried several an
493068 tn?1224768915 For the first year after treatment there was little that seemed to help other than avoiding irritants such as sun, hot, cold, wind, red wine, spicy food, too much exercise, and otc topicals. I kidd you not. Now, two years post treatment the rosacea is pretty much in check or at least manageable. I still need a strong sunblock in the summer but can pretty much go about the rest of my life without having to wince when looking into the mirror.
Avatar m tn As to avoiding it -- try and indentify your individual triggers and then avoid them best you can. Common triggers are the sun, heat, red wine, and spicy foods but not everyone is affected the same way. I've also read that some docs recommend an aspirin (or baby aspirin) before bedtime to help with the inflammation.
Avatar n tn Perhaps the z-pack was out of my system by then. I started back on the mynocycline and called her. I waited two weeks and that and nothing much is happening. She thinks I need a higher dosage and one that is time released. I also find that my face is inflamed more when I drink a couple glasses of wine, or drink diet coke, or anything with caffine in it. I have looked at pictures of regular rosacea, and I don't look like that. Plus this itches like crazy.
Avatar m tn French fries, pesto sauce, butter, etc would make me feel terrrible! And I threw up after just a couple glasses of wine. There is a rare side effect of drugs in the floxacin family of antibiotics (like levofloxacin). They can cause hepatitis symptoms, that include sensitivity to oil and alcohol. One year later, I find out I most likely have an ulcer. Also made worst by, you guessed it, oil, grease and alcohol. Have you noticed certin foods trigger your bloating and pain?
529981 tn?1212853666 Also I have tried, salycylic shampoos, tar shampoos, jojoba oil, AND nothing seems to help. Please help me and my hair. I am a busy college student, who unfortunately does not have the time and money to deal with this.
Avatar n tn Made my day, Bon So have a good lunch and dinner and maybe even a glass of wine. (a client is coming in from Oregon today and asked if I liked wine. I said of course, even tho I haven't had a drink for a year and a half. She is bringing a bottle of Pinot Noir - said it is the specialty grown there). May i will just have to a glass as a toast to you, my dear friend.
Avatar n tn My current protocol is Clindamycin in the morning or whenever I feel anything start to itch. Then I alternate Metrogel and Rezamid in the evenings on nose or wherever any redness. Then Elidel Cream if any flaking from the seb derm, or sometimes I just use the Elidel over the Metrogel if in the mood. According to my derm, all three are harmless in terms of side effects. That was the original plan but now I'm more flexible and will use the Rezamid any time I see a pimple forming.
Avatar n tn Chronic Dermatitis can apparently really cause problems down there!! Since Clindamycin and Hydrocortizone suppositories are not as serious as using steroid creams, it seems worth a try for anyone whose Dr. can't figure this stuff out! best of luck..
Avatar m tn I'd be out jumping out of planes (hey you aren't going to die) and drinking wine and eating steak and loving everybody I could. Of course - it's easy to say now since it can't be done. Knowing me I might chicken out and keep putting it off like my PCR until I had like one day left!
Avatar n tn She said that some people are carriers and may never know they are unless a culture is taken. She proscribed Clindamycin HCL 300 mg and it cleared up immediately. Now when it happens, I get a proscription and it clears up right away.
Avatar f tn I literally had to take a leave of absence from work and all I could do was spend most of my time in my bedroom watching TV reruns of old TV shows I found comforting and beading. Oh, and drinking wine. I tried Xanax a couple of times but it made me feel...weird, so I really didn't get into it. But here's the thing; I happened to be reading the side effects of amoxicillin and believe it or not, anxiety is one of them!
Avatar n tn I was trying to write it off as the toilet paper, etc! But then I became more and more worried, and began to research it and that's when I came across this website. After reading everything I decided to go see my OBGYN. He of course tested me for Herpes, and even though I had read everything that you have all been through, and knowing that none of your tests had come back positive, I was still nervous. He also tested me for a yeast infection.
Avatar n tn Yeah. Well that's what I hope-related to some kind of yeast thing, and not HPV-which would mean I have to wait until it runs it's course with me. My doctor actually told me to stick with the gold bond if it works, but that's treating the symptoms...sigh. I just had a run of anti biotics after a surgery, wouldn't that take care of any kind of BI/yeast/uti??
Avatar m tn I took my SVR to the woods for 2 years and kissed it goodbye. I'd even have a glass of wine on an occasional Friday night. When my anti-rejection dose was reduced I was thrilled. The first reduction from 3 mg FK to 2 mg daily went fine. My ALT remained in the teens. Then the reduction from 2 mg FK per day to 2 mg every other day resulted in an elevation in my ALT which reached the mid 300s within a month. I ran from the woods in a panic believing I was rejecting.
Avatar n tn I will say that yesterday for the first time in a long time I began using the topical cream DUAC prescribed by my Dermatologist for acne. It is 1% clindamycin and 5% benzoyl peroxide, and as I write this it is forefront on my mind that this stuff may be the cause (there has to be an obvious link between my sudden reoccurrance and my recent use of this cream--yesterday). Perhaps some of the ingredients in this stuff are in something you use?
Avatar f tn It started off as every now and then but for the last month it is all the time 24/7. It is really taking a toll on my life. It is so bad it wakes me up and prevents me from falling asleep. I have had thyroid, hormones, mri, ct scan and many other tests. The only test that came back questionable was my ANA, it is positive, speckled pattern. My RA factor was negative. I have no diagnosis as of yet. I do have Epstein Barr virus too.
Avatar n tn At first I thought it was my liver because it got worse when I drank, so I got a PET scan of my liver and spleen and got blood tests and everything was normal. I also got a endoscopy and colonoscopy because I was constipated for 2 weeks and that was all normal except for chronic gastritis. My uncle is a nurse and said that the pain sounds like it could be my gallbladder, so I had a ultrasound on my gallbladder, pancreas and right kidney 2 days ago and they said everything is normal there too.
Avatar n tn my system (C, E, multi, Tums for calcium, and black kohosh for hot flashes) AND no more red wine. Also - no creams/lotions/etc. on my labia. Nothing. I was having about a juice glass of red wine each night before bed (helps me fall asleep). I've been drinking red wine for about as long as I've had this itchy problem. Never made a connection between the two, but who knows. There are preservatives in wine - maybe that's what I'm allergic/sensitive to.
288415 tn?1231634102 Ive got the itching and the wet clear fluid, but mine ends up sticky with a nasty odour..And my left ear has clogged shut..but i am in extreme pain now because i hav swelling around my left jaw..and yes it is really hard o stop the itching.. But unlike u i cant take tablets..
Avatar f tn I am having the similar problems. I feel dizzy and then my heart starts racing and I feel like I need to have a bowel movement. It is very scary. This discussion is related to VAGUS NERVE and STOMACH or HEART LURCHES (spasms).
Avatar f tn I tried to remove one with tweezers, and it was very tacky (as in sticky) and clearly goes deep under the skin. Part of it broke off but I could still see that the pore was plugged and a day or two later top of the plug was sticking out again. i can't find ANYTHING online that looks like it.
