t think it was oral thrush even though I could scrape the white stuff off. He gave me a benydrill and told me to stop taking clindamycin and took me off antibiotics then sent me on my way. I've been using mouth wash and now my whole tongue isn't burning but the bottom feels sore and the middle feels cut. And my throat feels sore as well as the swollen node under my jaw still being there. I don't know what it could be. This is two days after the ER visit.
here is my intimate story,
for a few months now i have had an unusual discharge which has a distinct smell, which for some time i thought was thrush. the discharge was 'cottage cheese' like which is supposed to be thrush. so i used all the canesten products, none of which worked, and the discharge then became smoother and smelt more.
i went to my doctor who gave me metronidazole antibiotics but the symptoms did not go away. also i noticed a slight abdominal pain was getting worse.
I had went to another dentist for a second opinion who also prescribed clindamycin. I figured I would keep that medicine and take only if it flared back up while I was waiting for dental insurance to kick in at some point. Well, still looking for a job and now it's starting back up. I'm so afraid to take it because of the fear of how long it will be before I find a job.
I still have it and have been to over 20 doctors for it. I have been checked for thrush and candida 3 or 4 times with no positive result. Once i was even checked for systymatic yeast. I have been to oral surgeons, mouth specialists and a million other doctors. let me know if you find anything out cause i can't.
t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.
I went back to the doctor and she told me I had Oral Thrush and was given a prescription nystatin and needed probiotics. I did this and everything cleared up.
Fast forward two weeks:
I got all four wisdom teeth removed. I was given a prescription of azithromycin and a methylprednisolone pack. I also was informed to rinse my mouth out with warm salt water. On the last day of the antibiotic (day 5) I noticed a weird taste and that same discoloration on my tongue.
Other than that other treatment options are clindamycin topical treatment, topical steroids, oral antibiotics and metronidazole cream. Treatment should be continued for several weeks. If this is unsuccessful then the other treatments mentioned above may be tried.

Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.
6 and I had the chills. Got home, took my pill and went to bed. I woke at 1am with rigors and was FREEZING! Didn't take my temp but got another blaknet for the bed and went to sleep.
On 3/30 I woke still feverish and slightly chilled. I took my pill and a couple hours later took a shower. When I got out of the shower I notcied a rash developing on the back/side of my arms and faintly on my abdomen knees and lower legs. I still had the pain with eye movement.
has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects.
HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
just got over a five month bout with C Diff myself with relapses (clindamycin caused mine too) and your journey sounds alot like mine. Flagyl failed (failures rising per latest studies) and then went to vanco round, followed by a slow vanco taper. The taper seems to have been the magic bullet for my case. Finished taper and felt "C Diffy" for months afterward, doc attributed it to post infection IBS. Finally back to normal here - but it was a long road to healing.
I thoughti may be having a cold and took my temperature it is usually between 97.4 and 98.2 last night and this morning was 96.3 and 96.8 can a cold house lower my temperature or is this a serious illness? Hi I Was Recently Sick and Had To Begin taking an antibiotic called Clindamycin. Will I Be Okay To Drink Alcohol While On This Medication. I Have Read That This Antibiotic Doesn't Have Any Negative Affects While Drinking Alcohol. But Just Wanted To Double Check.

I recently went to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned and have some minor fillings touched up. Since this visit; a neighboring tooth that has had a root canal and a crown . I have clindamycin 300 mg, can I safely double up todays med intake. To be painfree for Christmas plans tomorrow??

The redness on top of penis tip changes from bright red when erect to mildy red when relaxed. There is a bright red spot that is about 1mm in size that the redness on tip seems to emanate from. Doctors don't think much of the redness although it is not "normal" because it was not there before. Could this be HPV?
ve never had a tooth extraction while having abscessing going on, and she said it was fine. Tooth was pulled and was sent home with an Rx of Clindamycin (150mg), 4xday. Infection got worse. Dentist, then used a lazer to open and drain the infected area. Several shots (7-8) of novacaine was needed to numb the area. After procedure, my mouth hurt and burned the worst that I've ever experienced before. The infection is still there.
i went to the ENT doctor and gave me clindamycin 300mg 4x a day for 1 week and it cured my throat. on december 2012 i had an ulcer all over my mouth most of them on and under my tongue and it was very painful. im having difficulty eating and drinking. i went to the local clinic and the doctor told me it was herpes by looking at it, and gave me acyclovir 200g 4x a day for a week it cured my ulcers before the week is finished.
Thank you so much for your response. May I also ask what length of time would I take the Biaxin? And is there any home treatment, Like garlic pills etc. that would help augment healing? ( since Biaxin is not considered the best treatment.) Although I'm stuck with that. And frankly, I was on the Clindamycin for weeks and that didn't get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.
Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
