Thank you for trying to help. I have seen several dermatologists and they all say the same thing "Stop touching your scalp and allow sores to heal" I have used Luxiq and Clindamycin for the past few years without any relief. The clindamycin helps with comfort for 3 to 4 hrs but has not solved the problem. This has had a severe impact on emotional and physical well being. I have very little hair left and have throbing pain most of the time which does not allow for good night sleep.
I have tried washing with Selsun Blue shampoo before, and occasionally tried Clindamycin gel on my skin with little improvement. Can anyone suggest a diagnosis and a cure? I have included the picture below.
I've had this rash for quite a few years now I went to the Dermatologist recently he prescribed me 1 % Clindamycin Lotion Lotion that hasn't done anything for it.. he told me it is a minor fungal rash.. I've tried everything Jock Itch Food Powder.. Clotrimazole Cream.. I've tried home remedies Aloe and a few others.. nothing it getting it to go away. The Doctor also told me I may have minor psoriasis but I researched the rash and it doesn't look anything like it.
Anyway, when I was finished at her office, I went online and did some research on Scalp Psoriasis. The google image search I did scared the **** out of me. And then I did some research into the drugs that I was perscribed, and they seemed really powerful. I was particularly concerned about the Luxiq - according to one source, suddenly stopping the betamethasone can cause a "rebound reaction" wherein your condition suddenly becomes a heck of a lot worse.
t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.
Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.
has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects.
HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
Hi I Was Recently Sick and Had To Begin taking an antibiotic called Clindamycin. Will I Be Okay To Drink Alcohol While On This Medication. I Have Read That This Antibiotic Doesn't Have Any Negative Affects While Drinking Alcohol. But Just Wanted To Double Check.

So now.... retinoid treatments are not helping, and the only other main treatment for psoriasis are corticosteroids which if I'm not mistaken are immunosuppressants lol..... are they not?

The redness on top of penis tip changes from bright red when erect to mildy red when relaxed. There is a bright red spot that is about 1mm in size that the redness on tip seems to emanate from. Doctors don't think much of the redness although it is not "normal" because it was not there before. Could this be HPV?
ve never had a tooth extraction while having abscessing going on, and she said it was fine. Tooth was pulled and was sent home with an Rx of Clindamycin (150mg), 4xday. Infection got worse. Dentist, then used a lazer to open and drain the infected area. Several shots (7-8) of novacaine was needed to numb the area. After procedure, my mouth hurt and burned the worst that I've ever experienced before. The infection is still there.
I have been diagnosed with psoriasis, specifically on my palms and a little under one arm. My eyelids and lips were also very chapped. I was prescribed some creams for both my palms and eyelids, etc. which seem to keep it down, providing I use it all the time. My new problem is my fingertips on my left hand. They are very raw and painful. The pain is like very small paper cuts. My nails on some of my fingers are also coming away from the nail beds. Is this associated with psoriasis.
Thank you so much for your response. May I also ask what length of time would I take the Biaxin? And is there any home treatment, Like garlic pills etc. that would help augment healing? ( since Biaxin is not considered the best treatment.) Although I'm stuck with that. And frankly, I was on the Clindamycin for weeks and that didn't get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.
Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
