Am now taking a 10 day round of both clindamycin and bactrum to treat it. Thing is, blood work I had 5 days ago when I got started taking my clindamycin and bactrum now shows that I have no signs of infection in my blood, from CBC to my C-Protein. The redness is not gone and will turn dark red before going back to a lighter shade when i move my toe around like when I am walking, but I have no other symptoms whatsoever, and I feel totally normal head to toe.
My poor husband had his impacted wisdom teeth removed. He has developed a bone infection and now the doctor's office who treated him is backpeddling and saying that he has the "flu." They were the ones' who told him he had the infection to begin with. He is in ALOT of pain, nausea, very tired and overal in pain everywhere. He is on antibiotics - Amoxocillin, but i am concerned it is not enough.

MY CURRENT SURGEON QUICKLY DIAGNOSED ME AND DID MY SURGERY AND TOOK OUT INFECTED BONE. ANOTHER 6 WEEKS IV ANTI BIOTICS AND 4 WEEKS ORAL THIS TIME. NOW 8 WEEKS LATER, IT SHOW ON THE XRAY THAT THERE IS STILL PRESENCE OF INFECTION. JUST SOME FLARING OF THE BONE IN THAT AREA, HE SHOWED ME ON THE XRAY.
For the past week the pain seems to be getting worse and not better.. I went for a xray results stated Focal inflammory process and osteomyelitis.. Probable post traumatic degenerative arthritic changes.. Im not sure what all this mean.. My follow up appt is 2 weeks from now..

t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.

Osteomyelitis is infection of bone and as you have chronic osteomyelitis your line of treatment you expained in your post is perfect. Always remember that you have to stay clean and hygienic even after you come home and reduce the chances of infection completely. Take care and with proper treatment, care and support you will be fine.
Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.

But Now before three months I consulted another orthopedic surgeon who is also a orthopedic professor he also told me for some tests like MRI Xray and blood test and he also diagnosed the same I. E chronic osteomyelitis.
has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects.
HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
Hi I Was Recently Sick and Had To Begin taking an antibiotic called Clindamycin. Will I Be Okay To Drink Alcohol While On This Medication. I Have Read That This Antibiotic Doesn't Have Any Negative Affects While Drinking Alcohol. But Just Wanted To Double Check.

At the very least an X-ray film is required to determine if there is osteomyelitis. Often the x-ray will be clear but osteomyelitis will show on an MRI. Protocols change and the current drill is to keep the infectious area dry, as I mentioned..External bactricidal ointments are ineffectual.
The doctor excised arthroplasty of femoral head and applied antibiotic spaces and did sequestectomy of left femur shoft and debedement of dead bone and tissues. Gave antibiotic and discharged aftet some days. After stitch removal , some days later , the whole place filled and swelled. When pressed , a lot of pus came out. Doctor changed the antibiotic but it caused digestive and energy problems so doctors said to stop it. The pus still comes when dressing is being done. Why it is so?

You need an immediate MRI to determine if there is osteomyelitis. And a culture from the wound. Oral antibiotics don't travel well to the extremities. Generally the drill is intravenous vancomyacin for several weeks. Look for redness around the wound and purplish discoloration. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. This does not appear to a normal healing process. You may or may not have an infection and may or may not have osteomyelitis. Only an MRI can act as a diagnosis for osteomyelitis.
I recently went to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned and have some minor fillings touched up. Since this visit; a neighboring tooth that has had a root canal and a crown . I have clindamycin 300 mg, can I safely double up todays med intake. To be painfree for Christmas plans tomorrow??
Prescribed ofloxacin, desonide and clindamycin with no results. Currently halfway through doxycline two week course and showing no real changes.
The redness on top of penis tip changes from bright red when erect to mildy red when relaxed. There is a bright red spot that is about 1mm in size that the redness on tip seems to emanate from. Doctors don't think much of the redness although it is not "normal" because it was not there before. Could this be HPV?
It is an infection of bone or bone marrow. By definition Osteomyelitis is inflammation of the bone and marrow, but since it is always caused by an infection, it indirectly implies an infection. It generally encompasses all of the bone including the bone marrow. When it is chronic it can lead to bone sclerosis and deformity. It can be difficult to treat and generally requires a long course of IV antibiotics.
And #7 indicates you have synovitis.
