Avatar m tn Am now taking a 10 day round of both clindamycin and bactrum to treat it. Thing is, blood work I had 5 days ago when I got started taking my clindamycin and bactrum now shows that I have no signs of infection in my blood, from CBC to my C-Protein. The redness is not gone and will turn dark red before going back to a lighter shade when i move my toe around like when I am walking, but I have no other symptoms whatsoever, and I feel totally normal head to toe.
Avatar m tn I had to have a root canal redone as my previous dentist did not get the whole nerve and it became infected. The Dentist put me on amoxicillin 875mg twice a day, after 6 days I called him as it was having no effect. he then put me on clyndamycin 300mg twice a day, this is day two, it seemed better this morning and by this afternoon it isswelling slightly the tissue above my tooth is spongie again and I can tell it's filling with pus.
Avatar f tn If infection persists after 3-5 days of amoxicillin administration, switching to other antibiotics , such as clindamycin or erythromycin is advised.
5748503 tn?1373869126 I actually was told to take her to the local children's hospital from my pediatrician, because they weren't able to get her into the orthopedic doctor. They immediately admitted her to the hospital and we have been here since the 27th. They did a bone scan yesterday and found pockets of fluid in both her knee and ankle as well as another lesion in the ankle. So, yesterday they did surgery to aspirate the fluid and made two small incisions to take a piece of the bone.

Avatar f tn So my LLMD has me on the following medications: Amoxicillin, Clindamycin, and Capadex (for my stomach problems). My dosage of the antibiotics are very high and I will be taking it for about 2 months. He believes I may H pyelori as well as Lymes because of my reoccurring ulcers. I am getting a more sensitive test for h Pyelori as well. I am also taking or about to Amrix for muscle pain. Has anyone taken this?
Avatar f tn I was prescribed clindamycin after experiencing pain in my tooth after a root canal. I took a double dose (600mg) of clindamycin as I missed a dose. I am experiencing severe pain from my chest through to my back. It feels like spasms and is difficult to breath. I normally take nexium on a daily basis; however I missed my dose of that too. I did take my nexium but I have felt absolutely no relief whatsoever.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever had or know anything about skull or jaw osteomyelitis. I know it's an infection that spreads from somewhere else usually but i'm wondering if anyone has had it and can let me know the symptoms. If so i would really appreciate it. I've been having some weird symptoms lately and a little worried it may be this.

Avatar f tn Osteomyelitis is infection of bone and as you have chronic osteomyelitis your line of treatment you expained in your post is perfect. Always remember that you have to stay clean and hygienic even after you come home and reduce the chances of infection completely. Take care and with proper treatment, care and support you will be fine.
Avatar f tn I have some clindamycin but not sure if that is an appropriate medication for a cat. he weighs 11 lbs.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure if it's bacteria in the back of my throat behind my tonsils. Do people normally have food particles? I'm still taking medicine, Clindamycin. I've taken like 21 pills and have 7 left but the white stuff behind my tonsils isn't going away. Only the white stuff on my tonsils went away.

Now we have had a utility, yeast infection, her iron level is at 30, she has passed out over 5 times, cannot sleep has lost weight, major stomach pain etc. urgent care has said it was right meds and right dose. NO WAY!
Avatar m tn Hi, I took Clindamycin 300 mg 3x a day. I only finished 12 out of 21 pills as I feared the high risk of colitis associated with this drug. My question is that after stopping the medication about 3 days ago, I am having long (6"+), loose stools. Could this be c. diff? I also have a lot of gas throughout the day, some mild abdominal pain too.
Avatar f tn The danger is the infection will go into the bone and result in osteomyelitis, which may mean weeks on an intravenous line in a hospital. Oral antibiotics do not work well for toe infections. Soaking in salt water will enhance the chances of developing osteomyelitis. You should get an x-ray film of the toe and ideally the infection be cultured. Osteomyelitis is very nasty and can spread to the metatarsals and the leg, which could result in amputation of the toe, foot or leg.
Avatar f tn After all the tests the doctor diagnosed chronic osteomyelitis in left femur and told me that this is not a big issue as you were having this from early time and aslo the doctor suggested when ever you are dealing with the take a painkiller or paracetamol and just forget about it. But Now before three months I consulted another orthopedic surgeon who is also a orthopedic professor he also told me for some tests like MRI Xray and blood test and he also diagnosed the same I.
Avatar n tn has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects. HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
Avatar f tn Hi The various conditions which fit your description of symptoms may include ankylosing spondylitis, Langerhans cell histiocytosis, acute osteomyelitis and some rare syndromes such as the SAPHO syndrome, PPHS and adult CRMO. SAPHO syndrome is a chronic disorder that involves the skin, bone, and joints.
Avatar f tn They calledme bavk Wednesday to tell me that I tested positive for chlamydia. They prescribed me Clindamycin. The dosage is 300mg 4 times a day for 7 days. But I can't take it. It makes me so sick and makes me feel like my throat is swelling closed. Anybody else experienced this? Or know what else I can take? I'm going to call my OB in the morning. But I'm scared they are going to tell me that there is nothing else for me. Ugh.
Avatar f tn Minor toe infections often develop into full-fledged osteomyelitis. Painful pinching is sometimes the warning symptom. You could lose toes, a foot or a leg. This is very common with diabetics. This, of course is a "worse-case" scenario. You need a visit to a good podiatrist affiliated with a hospital to take an x-ray and then an MRI if indicated, as well as a diabetic screen (an hba1c blood test). This problem must be evaluated in person by a professional immediately.
Avatar f tn At the very least an X-ray film is required to determine if there is osteomyelitis. Often the x-ray will be clear but osteomyelitis will show on an MRI. Protocols change and the current drill is to keep the infectious area dry, as I mentioned..External bactricidal ointments are ineffectual.
Avatar m tn In march 2020, he went to doctor and found that it was elsewhere managed case of infective arthritis of left hip chronic osteomyelitis. The doctor excised arthroplasty of femoral head and applied antibiotic spaces and did sequestectomy of left femur shoft and debedement of dead bone and tissues. Gave antibiotic and discharged aftet some days. After stitch removal , some days later , the whole place filled and swelled. When pressed , a lot of pus came out.
Avatar n tn Amoxicillin is fine if it's the correct antibiotic. Dental infections can be from either an aerobic bacteria or anaerobic bacteria. Having the correct antibiotic is VERY important. I urge you to at least call your dentist for approval before you treat a dental abscess yourself. Amoxicillin may be fine, but you may need something like clindamycin instead. Also, it's very important that a FULL dose is taken for dental infections.
Avatar f tn After another round of tests and a visit to my LLMD, he pronounced my kidneys "back to normal." Yay!! He upped my dose of clindamycin and said in a month to switch to doxy. He wanted to wait until we're further into fall weather as I am very fair skinned. First time I will have taken doxy, and it'll be just shy of a year from diagnosis. I feel every dosage increase and new antibiotic I take.
