One if your saying you discovered the diagnosis and they gave up then how did you obtain antibiotics and all the other meds for it? Two you wouldn't be able to sue the doctors unless you can prove what you have and have a physician draw up labs for proof. Third I caught that you were in a relationship with a NPD. Have you had your blood work done ,hormone test, thyroid? I was in a similar situation I found my skin ,scalp and all is due to the abusive relationship.
In October 2009, I caught a very bad case of impetigo, and was given antibiotics to combat it. In a couple weeks it cleared up, but in less than a week after treatment my skin broke out with these oozing, golden crusts once again. The dermatologist I was seeing prescribed all sorts of antibiotics to try to cure me, but all served to be only temporarily effective. All the drugs probably did my body more harm than good in the long run.
Over the next few years I went to other doctors and a dermatologist, given such medications as bactrim, clindamycin, doxycyclin, mupirocin ointment, etc. None have worked. I went to a primary care doctor last week who performed a general bacterial culture on one of the sores I squeezed and sent of to the lab. The test came back negative and didn't identify any other bacteria present.
My son was healthy except for eczema pretty bad as an infant at birth but at 4mos developed RSV and was hospitalized and has since had asthma and does have allergy problems. He went through a year in 2nd grade that he was shakey all of the time and we elimnated diabetes and low blood sugar as both his grandparens (father side) have diabetes. The doctor figured it was more nerves than an actual illness so we went on. He has never been a good sleeper and is my worry about everything child.
2 weeks ago, I was diagnosed with Impetigo and Folliculitis, most likely caused by the same bacteria living on my body. The doctor diagnosed the Impetigo by looking at it, and he prescribed me Doxycycline and Muporocin (SP?) After a few days, the Impetigo began to clear up. It was in the left corner of my lip. There is still a bit of redness there, but nothing else and no irritation. The folliculitis was on my head, back, different areas of my thighs, and occasionally my chest.
no one seems to know what it is, while some are sure it is an allergic reaction, and that it may be impetigo. I have been questioned thoroughly and have not used any new creams on my face or tried new perfumes, detergents, soaps, or anything.

In your case, if you had bouts of acne before, and the bumps do not appear to involve follicles and also do not appear to blister and crust, then this is most likely acne.
For localized bumps such as what you have, the mainstay is sticking to a proper facial cleansing regimen. Use a mild and bland product that is hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic. Use a mild toner to tighten the pores and do not exfoliate at this point.
t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.
By this time my right breast was also swollen and also had some blisters, although a lot fewer than the left. They gave me clindamycin through IV and both the redness and swelling went down dramatically within 45 minutes. But my culture from the urgent care finally came back and it was positive for herpes--no typing. I developed a low fever and also a sore throat with a white ulcer in the back of my throat.
i just found out she has these acne like spot on her face and shoulder. She say it body ance. I read the bottle of cream she uses and its Clindamycin. I looked it up and it say it is use to treat acne and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Is methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus common in people who are hiv + ? She also has vigoligo. Couple week ago i broke out with the same kind of acne she has. I have test neg in june .
Finally after a year (of always having at least 1 sore on my face, during the summer as many as 8 small ones at a time) of trying to battle what I thought was adult on set acne, I saw a dermatologist who said he thought it my be impetigo/ecythyma. I was but on Bactroban cream and after about 8 weeks, most sores cleared up. However, the damn things come back.
Question 1.
My 11 yr old daughter has a red bumpy rash on her bottom lip and under the lip. She just has one large bump in the middle of the bottom lip and several small bumps above her chin. She originally thought it was just blemishes so she washed her face several times a day, but there was no improvement, and now they are red, very sore, & covered in a yellow/brown crust. They also burn if she touches or picks at them.
Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.
Then she said I had bullous impetigo and gave me an antibiotic and an ointment to apply to the affected area. Well, over some time, the sore areas began to heal, but left really dark, ugly scars all over my chest area, legs, arms, and face, which has really affected my self esteem. Presently, the blisters have returned. They are now in my hair, but are more like flakes or crusty areas on my scalp that hurt when I try to even comb or brush my hair.
Earlier this afternoon (july 7th), i ended up going to urgent care and the doctor said i had impetigo, and he wrote me up a prescription for antibiotic ointment (Mupirocin Ointment USP, 2%) and sent me on my way.
I still have some questions though!
1.) i read that impetigo is highly contagious. How contagious is it? i always wash my hands after i apply the ointment, and I don't touch the area at all, except when im putting the ointment on.
2.
has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects.
HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
Hi and sorry you have strep. We are not doctors on these sites but I am a microbiologist. So I understand the condition.
It could be impetigo on the anal area if it is crusty looking, since strep causes impetigo, but since it is inside the vagina it is probably gone beyond the surface of the skin and that part isn't impetigo. They call it vulvovaginal streptococcus pyogenes (group A strep). They shouldn't have given you the bactrim as S. pyogenes is usually resistant to that.
As an Asian I have very smooth skin. however 5 months ago I was told that I had impetigo. I had some antibacterial cream prescribed and a cream to get rid of the flaky skin that comes impetigo. It has been 5 months and I still have some bumps. They aren't impetigo, ( no leaking), but these are abnormally large lumps on my skin. The would cluster and would look like acne. but when I pop them only blood comes out.
I went online and found that impetigo seems to be associated with HIV, though with which stage of the virus, late or early, I haven't been able to figure out based on my "research". I went to see my Doctor and he swabbed the back of my throat to test for strep which came back "slightly positive". Having read that impetigo and strep throat are cases by the same bacteria, I was a little relieved..
My daughter had impetigo several weeks back. She was treated with a cream and oral antibiotics. The area has healed. However, she has and pigmented discolored area exactly the same size as where her impetigo spot was. Will this go away? How long will it take? Is this normal and is there anything we can do to help this area return to its natural skin color.
This looks like a cold sore, but after reading on internet, it sounds like odds are it is more likely impetigo. It started as a pimple like lesion and looks more like a flat/slightly raised brown crusty lesion? Please help me figure this out, or give me more info on what this could be, so I know whether to go right in to see a doctor. Thank you.
Hi I Was Recently Sick and Had To Begin taking an antibiotic called Clindamycin. Will I Be Okay To Drink Alcohol While On This Medication. I Have Read That This Antibiotic Doesn't Have Any Negative Affects While Drinking Alcohol. But Just Wanted To Double Check.
