Antibacterial wash such as hexachlorophene and topical antibiotics such as erythromycin or clindamycin may provide relief. You may also try the following- Apply a warm compress to the affected area several times a day, avoid shaving, use antibacterial soap and over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream.
However, if severe (large area or multiple areas), your doctor may prescribe some oral antibiotics like cephalexin or erythromycin.

t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.
I had a root canal on tooth 15 and this is my 3rd week of clindamycin and I keep feeling this tingling feeling from my cheek bone to my jaw on the side where the tooth was infected. I guess there was a bad abscess. What could this lead too if not properly taken care of? I'm concerned the infection is in my bone.
I got POD from using hydrocortisone cream on my face and so have SOOO many others. It will make it seem to get better, but then as soon as you stop it, it will flare into a monster mess on your face. Try oral antibiotics and use extremely mild soap to wash your face. A good facial skincare line that is almost all organic is Southwest Sunshine. It is what I have been using with great success. Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.
has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects.
HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.

After applying hydrocortisone for 4 days the small red spots are gone and the one larger remaining spot is almost vanished completely. At this rate, it will probably be completely cleared up within the next two days. I honestly thought It was possible I had warts. I assume hydrocortisone wouldn't be able to clear something like that up. Any ideas what I had?
My doctor had suggested it could be warts but told me I would need to have a biopsy to know for sure.
I have been 2 the derm 2x...she gave me clindamycin gel, Sulfacleanse and contact dermatitis cream. I also am currently on doxycycline to see if that helps but nothing is helping....it’s gotten worse. It’s mainly on my jawline also and the bumps never really disappear just descrease in red was and size. It’s only on the Right side of my face and my cheek stay pretty red bc of it. Did you ever find a cure for it or find out the reason it was happening??
It is now 5 days taking benadryl and the hives and itching have not stopped. What is in the clindamycin that I may be allergic to?

Stress dosing is quite an art. Yes, it needs to be done for physical stress such as illness but some people get ill with emotional stress. I needed to stress dose when my mom died - so it does happen and people dose up to travel (TSA!!! LOL) but you need to balance as to do it do that you get enough to keep healthy without going over as too much is damaging.
I recently went to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned and have some minor fillings touched up. Since this visit; a neighboring tooth that has had a root canal and a crown . I have clindamycin 300 mg, can I safely double up todays med intake. To be painfree for Christmas plans tomorrow??
s my issue too, but only in that 1 spot because the treatment for it is hydrocortisone and clindamycin (vaginal). Every time I have a flare up, it takes clindamycin to make it go away.

Prescribed ofloxacin, desonide and clindamycin with no results. Currently halfway through doxycline two week course and showing no real changes.
The redness on top of penis tip changes from bright red when erect to mildy red when relaxed. There is a bright red spot that is about 1mm in size that the redness on tip seems to emanate from. Doctors don't think much of the redness although it is not "normal" because it was not there before. Could this be HPV?
I am currently on clindamycin gel/hydrocortisone cream and that seems to help while I am using it (somewhat, never completely resolves), but as soon as I stop the pain comes back with a vengeance.
I have also been tested for vulvodynia and the doctors don't think that's what it is. At one point the male doctor I was seeing started to try to suggest it was psychological and so I went to see a therapist for a while who told me it was ridiculous and to see another gynecologist.
