It is possible to have a strain of Strep that is resistant to penicillin, and therefore, maybe your doctor is trying to target that (assuming that Coloncil is not also penicillin). Ideally, your doctor would test for strep at your first visit, before you started the antibiotics.
I think it is more likely that you have a viral throat infection if you aren't responding to the antibiotics, although I can't be sure since I cannot examine you.

So I decided not to go with Moxi yet. Took Azithromycin 500 mg for 6 days. Doc put me on a combination with Doxy 100 mg twice a day but I had a reaction to Doxy so I only stuck with Azithromycin. My urine analysis showed moderate growth of Strep Group B as well. Doc said that the co infection with strep group B could be the reason for treatment failure against MG. So I've started a Nitrofurantoin course for 7 days 100 mg twice a day for Strep Group B.

As fas as I know, nexium (esomeprazole) only interferes with biaxin (clarithromycin). It heightens the amount of esomeprazole by inhibiting the degradation of esomeprazole. Mepron/atovaquone and Zithromax/azithromycin for Babesiosis first, then when that was extinct, Biaxin/clarithromycin and Omnicef/cefidnir for Lyme. Took 15 months, start to finish.
