Common Questions and Answers about Clarinex dosage instructions

clarinex

Avatar m tn Have you started tapering down your dosage per your doctor's instructions? Just make sure you are not adjusting dosage or quitting it without talking to your doctor first; just ensure you follow his/her instructions. Doing it on your own can cause many unpleasant symptoms that you would not really have to endure if you take it as prescribed.
Avatar n tn Claritin and Clarinex (they work very differently) might help. Claritin makes me light headed for 30 minutes, raises blood pressure a little but wears off after a few hours. Clarinex works better for me, lasts 14 hours on me. Both are pretty weak for antihistamines. Other than this there is a couple more that use the same med as Claritin, so same effect pretty much. The other antihistamines usually cause drowsyness. Don't know of too many nasal sprays with out steroids.
Avatar m tn He probably will increase your dosage but never do this on your own, follow his instructions. They normally will start you out on a low dosage, see if it helps, and if not they either increase it or switch medications. Always work closely with your doctor on your medications. Take care.
Avatar f tn Tylenol is unveiling new maximum dosage instructions for paracetamol or acetaminophen in the US. The new instructions state a maximum total daily of 3,000 mg versus the old maximum of 4,000 mg. Additionally, it states to take the over the counter dosage every 6 hours instead of every 4 to 6 hours. These new instructions seem to be specific to their over the counter products not prescription medications.
519035 tn?1348275773 Thanks;) I have some allergy medicine, more in the chest now then in the head;)
8593574 tn?1398970803 Up to two every 4-6 hours not to exceed 8 in 1 day. I think that's correct. The dosage is written on the bottle, do not exceed the dosage.
Avatar f tn my mother (77yrs.of age) has been taking 10mg lexapro for general depression and body aches. Today, the physician said he wanted to give her something that would make her feel more "perky" and changed her script to 150mg Effexor. The instructions are to take 1 pill/day and to stop the lexapro. From my reading it seems that these meds should be weaned.
Avatar m tn What dosage has your doctor prescribed? This question would be better answered by him as he knows your medical history.
Avatar f tn my mom has been experiencing this weird outbreak of hives all over her body, and when she has an outbreak it seems to cause severe joint pain, but not in the same joints it kinda travels around.she has been to an allergist but they put her on predisone and clarinex and zantec but as soon as the pred. is done the rash seems to rehash and the clarinex and othe meds seem not to help at all.
Avatar f tn Her OB and PCP told her that taking her clarinex was OK. She is miserable without it and right now has a wicked cold. I have been reading now that clarinex is OK to take and other sites saying it is not OK. She is 21 weeks right now. Why would they say it is OK if it isn't? Thanks for any info.
Avatar m tn In the meantime, i have switched allergy medication from Clarinex to Xyzal, which may also be helping a little. I now take the allergy medication before bed whereas before, I had been taking Clarinex in the mornings. I notice that the problem of too much mucus seems less prevalent in the mornings upon waking up. It worsens in the afternoon and evening, especially after meals. Again, thank you for your input, Dr. Rajput.
Avatar f tn Hi, You need to speak with your prescribing physician about dosing instructions with the Suboxone. Make certain you follow his instructions, especially going from Methadone to Suboxone. Let us know how you make out.
982209 tn?1249608631 It is a higher dosage. Doctors will usually wait and see if you are getting the desired effect from your current dosage...if not they will sometimes raise it. Did your doctor say why he/she was raising it?
Avatar n tn First is the cough from a problem in side or something you are breathing in? A good test I use is a HEPA filted mask. (the kind you can get in the hardware store with canisters). Wearing that for 5 minutes should clear up the mucus quite a bit if it is something you are breathing in. Easy test and takes only 5 minutes. Try a deep breath with the mask on after 5 minutes and see if you still feel like coughing.
Avatar n tn Oh, I'd call your doctor or talk to the pharmacist. The proper dosage is often written on a bottle for a child when prescribed. Is it not there? If this is someone else's medicine, I wouldn't do that. Every two year old needs their own prescription of medicine.
Avatar f tn As much of a pain as it may be, it seems like you're going to have to schedule an appointment with your doctor. Ask him what it says in your records about the dosage. It sounds like the nurses are under the impression that your medicine should last 30 days. Your chart may have notes that say that, while the actual prescription doesn't. The dosage instructions make it very unclear as to how long the prescription should last.
Avatar n tn So my doc prescribe me fluconazole for a yeast infection I'm currently 30wks pregnant, when I picked it up it had 2 little packets in it with one pill each and doc says to take 1 a day but as I'm reading the instructions it says 1pill clears everything and you only need a 1time dosage. Do I take both pills or just one why would he prescribe me 2 if directions clearly state 1? Any ladies ever had to take for yeast infection while preggo what did your doc prescribe?
Avatar m tn Please read the instructions in the box. You can read there the recommended dosage and maybe the side effects because of an overdose. Please try to stick to this instructions. Keep also in mind you should take a doctor's advice before any medication.
Avatar n tn Tylenol is pretty much it for what you can take. You may wanna check with you Dr on how much to take, but typically as long as you follow the dosage instructions on the bottle you should be fine. I'm 6w 5d into pregnancy #3. Tylenol is what my Dr has always had me take.
