Common Questions and Answers about Clarinex dosage information

clarinex

Avatar n tn Claritin and Clarinex (they work very differently) might help. Claritin makes me light headed for 30 minutes, raises blood pressure a little but wears off after a few hours. Clarinex works better for me, lasts 14 hours on me. Both are pretty weak for antihistamines. Other than this there is a couple more that use the same med as Claritin, so same effect pretty much. The other antihistamines usually cause drowsyness. Don't know of too many nasal sprays with out steroids.
519035 tn?1348275773 Thanks;) I have some allergy medicine, more in the chest now then in the head;)
Avatar f tn my mom has been experiencing this weird outbreak of hives all over her body, and when she has an outbreak it seems to cause severe joint pain, but not in the same joints it kinda travels around.she has been to an allergist but they put her on predisone and clarinex and zantec but as soon as the pred. is done the rash seems to rehash and the clarinex and othe meds seem not to help at all.
Avatar f tn Her OB and PCP told her that taking her clarinex was OK. She is miserable without it and right now has a wicked cold. I have been reading now that clarinex is OK to take and other sites saying it is not OK. She is 21 weeks right now. Why would they say it is OK if it isn't? Thanks for any info.
Avatar m tn In the meantime, i have switched allergy medication from Clarinex to Xyzal, which may also be helping a little. I now take the allergy medication before bed whereas before, I had been taking Clarinex in the mornings. I notice that the problem of too much mucus seems less prevalent in the mornings upon waking up. It worsens in the afternoon and evening, especially after meals. Again, thank you for your input, Dr. Rajput.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for the great information. The free's were not tested this time, but I will request that you are next time. Again, thank you.
Avatar n tn First is the cough from a problem in side or something you are breathing in? A good test I use is a HEPA filted mask. (the kind you can get in the hardware store with canisters). Wearing that for 5 minutes should clear up the mucus quite a bit if it is something you are breathing in. Easy test and takes only 5 minutes. Try a deep breath with the mask on after 5 minutes and see if you still feel like coughing.
Avatar f tn Just looking for anymore information or advise about withdraws from Fioricet / I have been taking this medication from years from Migrain headaches, it's seemed the longer I was on it the less it helped so I would increase my doses because I could not get rid of my headaches the other day I just stopped using it because it was like just this non stop headache.
Avatar m tn I drove two hours down to Louisville and spoke to a DR Cecil and he suggested that I try Infergen. Does anyone have any information about this drug. How is it taken, how often, what are the side effects? The Dr said that the effective rate is only about 20 % but I have few options left.
681148 tn?1437661591 Thank you for sharing this info. I read your response on the other post as well. I hope that you do ok with the Neurontin. At least, with this dosage, you can build it up if necessary. I'm glad to hear that taking the pain meds. earlier helped out. Take care and feel better soon.
318181 tn?1336443496 Hi everyone! As some of you know, I'm getting ready to start IVF in about a week and I'm currently taking 20 IU of lupron every night. They're switching me to 10 IU middle of next week and the 5 IU once I start the FSH meds. I'm a little worried about oversupression, but I can't seem to find much information online about what the most common dosage is. So here's my question....for those of you who have done IVF, what lupron dosage were you on?
Avatar f tn i just discovered i have been giving my 41 year old daughter twice the amount of NEUTRA-PHOS-K powder as prescribed.....(the mgram amount is not listed on the packets) the prescribed dosage is one packet twice daily and i have been giving her 2 packets twice daily for about 2 weeks.....is she in any danger if i just go back to the prescribed dosage right now ?...
Avatar f tn I have been taking 100mcg for years but now my doctor is changing my dosage to 88mcg. My tsh is .0005 and my t4 free is 7.56. Would those levels have caused hair thinning all over my body and hair texture change? My weight has pretty much stayed the same. I'm worried that the lowering of my synthroid will cause hairloss as my hair has just seemed to stablize recently. my doc thinks I have telogen effulvium due to stress in addition to the change in my thyroid.
Avatar n tn I had the exact same problem of severe toe/foot/lower leg cramps that sometimes scared me. These started a couple of years after I started Synthroid. (The Synthroid saved me.) But my doctor should have told me what two of my friends told me who take Sythroid--that I needed to take Magnesium. Within a week or two the cramps were all gone, and my fatigue level was better. I'm SO THANKFUL! (I always take the Mag.
408795 tn?1324935675 Although not as specific, it contain much of the same information and is readily available to the patient and the doctor. This information label was given to me by my GI to read and discuss regarding issues related to anger and depression and the potential for needing an AD sometime during trt. I would hope all doctors discuss this prior to trt, but this may not be the case. I'm also curious what "psychological evaluations" are being done.
Avatar n tn If she has ketones we give her extra no carb fluids and contact per endocrinologist on how to adjust her insulin dosage. We do this because sometimes she has ketones due to being ill other times it is a missed bolus from the pump or not enough insulin. I would suggest you talk to your Childs endocrinologist or CDE on better ways for you as a team to get this situation under control. If they will not help you I would suggest you get a second opinion. For another pediatric endocrinologist.
Avatar n tn Sorry, I don't have that information but I will provide it if and when I can get a hold of it. I was hoping for a general answer but I suspect it's a unique situation. I appreciate the quick response!
Avatar f tn I just recieved my first prescription for methimazole, the directions is to take three 10mg daily. That seems to be a high dosage! I haven't taken any and will double check with Endo. Anyone else been prescribed 30mg daily?
Avatar n tn thank you for that information. my husband and I were looking at the bloodwork and thought that the freet4 was a little high and wondering if I needed the decrease. now I know why I am feeling this way and I am not going nuts.
Avatar f tn Since you have previous information posted, I suggest that you add this to prior thread so that all important information is in one place. Then you can request that this be deleted, since it would be a duplicate.
320078 tn?1278344720 Thanks for your patience in answering my questions. That clarifies a great deal. This "old doc" of yours was the same one who wanted to reduce your dosage because you had mouth sores, I think it was, and he told you they wouldn't go away unless you stopped treatment..something like that, if I recall. I'm only going to tell you my opinion here. If I were in your shoes... I wouldn't dosage reduce with the information you've given.
Avatar n tn I use use Clarinex which helps a little. Tried Claritin and it did not do anything. Most nasal sprays help, a non steroid nasal spray such as NasalCrom might help too and is gentle with virtually no side effects. I found that allergy shots was the only thing that stopped it for me. I don't use nasal sprays anymore. My rynitis was really bad and clogging my air ways. Now it seems to be almost gone. I get a bit sticky but never more than clearing my throat kind of annoyance.
Avatar f tn If you are interested in trying this approach, I suggest you visit our Alternative Medicine Forum and talk to the folks over there. They are incredibly knowledgable and you will get excellent information from them. A word of caution............so many people think that if something is "natural," or "herbal," that it poses no risk and that can be a dangerous assumption. All pharmaceutical guides now list drug-herb-vitamin interactions.
Avatar f tn Hey, Zpack works differently for different illnesses. Years of studies have shown the best treatment for chlamydia is 1g taken at once. That doesn't mean that a higher dosage won’t work, it’s just proven not to be as effective.
338489 tn?1215558109 Although I am a big vitamin D supporter, the biggest problem with so much MS info in alternative medicine and various groups is that there are no double blind placebo controlled studies. With Ashton having a PH.D I am sure he is aware of that. Where are his "p" values???? Nothing he says or any of his other scientists for that matter can be proven to be statistically significant. There in lies the problem with the general population jumping onto these principles.
