Prior the the potential exposure, I was prescribed a topical nail fungus medication (ClearNails Pro) that is fat soluble and claims to penetrate to the nail bed. This medication contains a drug called ciclopirox which was recently discovered to kill hiv infected cells in vitro. The percentage of ciclopirox is 6 percent.
1. Since my fungal medication is fat soluble and contains ciclopirox, will it enter the blood stream in enough concentration to affect the accuracy of an hiv antibody test?
Most treatments are either systemic antifungal medications such as terbinafine and itraconazole, or topical such as nail paints containing ciclopirox or amorolfine. There is also evidence for combining systemic and topical treatments for effective results.
A 2002 study compared the efficacy and safety of terbinafine in comparison with placebo, itraconazole and griseofulvin in treating fungal infections of the nails.
Is it safe to paint nails&toes? I don't plan on going to an actual nail place to have it done was going to do it myself..I have a wedding to go to tomorrow and wanted to paint my toes but im just so fearful to do anything that may harm little one.
It's not bad. I go to the nail shop still every two weeks for my mani and pedi. My baby is just fine!
I worry about the same thing so ive only done my nails a few times im 8 months tomorrow just like dyeing your hair im.sure its safe just try to limit yourself and do it only a couple times.
I have a doctors app on Tuesday, I will be asking my doctor this question, but I thought I wld get ur opinions. Is it OK to have nail polish on my nails and feet lol. I've heard from many of my friends not to. What do u guys think??
I paint my nails all the time. It's safe to do. I turn the fan on after I paint them. Manicures and pedicures are safe to get as well.
When I became pregnant almost 3 years ago I developed a nail fungus which I could not treat as I was pregnant. I left it and did nothing about it. After my baby was born nail got worse , and other sytoms emerged like irregular period ,bad breath , skin problems , skin ichy , tiredness , lack of breath. I struggled with nail fungus for 2 years it was getting worse and better. I am also very sensitive to certain food. I cannot treat the nail fungus with medication as I am breastfeeding my baby.
I loveeeee nail polish and painting my nails,now that im preggers do i have to rehab my addiction? Lol.
This was done at a nail salon I have been to many times. However the 2 times I wore the paint longer than like 3 weeks because I couldn't make a new appoint., I just let the paint stay on and kinda chip but after having it on like 6 weeks I used polish remover and both my big toes looked scratchy but not my other nails. So are you saying to sand the top part of my nail that should be clear looking but is now scratchy or the top part that is normally white where your nail grows out?
Okay. So i covered my nose so i wouldnt smell the nail polish but i was able to still smell it i only got to two nails and now i am freaking out !!???
My aunt just told me that supposly nail polish is bad when your pregnant. That supposly it contains some bad stuff that can harm your baby brain. Is this truth? Does rhat mean no more mani and pedi lol.
I would bite/pick at the polish but not the nail til the nail got long and strong enough. I sometimes bite down on my nail but now that it's longer it's harder to bite off and this is enough to satisfy the oral fixation. I still paint my nails maybe weekly but I now have nails that extend past the finger. YAY!
m not talking about the nail part you cut or bite, but the nail part ladies paint.
