My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.
I'm adhd and GAD I am currently on adderal and celexa has been added. I hate antidepressant medications because they make me manic. Does anyone have this problem? Im thinking I may have a little bipolar even though my pdoc said he didn't see any signs.
) He was diagnosed with ADHD at age 5 and was recently diagnosed with OCD/Anxiety disorder. His Dr. has prescribed him Celexa for the OCD/Anxiety disorder. I have read that this medication is not recommended in children. Is it safe for him to take this medication? Or is there anywhere I can look for information on the use of this medication in children?
The good thing, however, is you are armed with the knowledge to confront and deal with this. Over the past ten years have you been getting counsleing for your anxiety or have you recently started back up? For me, talk therapy, even if it is just once every couple of months (even when I am not experiencing any anxiety whatsoever) is a huge help in recognizing it and dealing with it when it comes up again...keep us posted!
When I am not taking my meds, I am tired, can sleep all day, am completely unmotivated to do anything and do not want to socialize with anyone. I have tried several different meds and am currently taking Celexa and Adderall XR. My psy says that adding the Adderall will "kick in the Celexa" and make it work better. I have a love/hate realationship with the Adderall. Although I am prescribed 20 mg Adderall XR 3 times a day, I never take all 3 pills a day.
I take 1.5 mg Klonopin + 50 mgs of Vyvanse. I have ADD but the Vyvanse is also prescribed for depression as I cannot take absolutely any antidepressant without incredible agitation. That started several years ago.
Here's the problem at hand, as it starts: Every time I sleep, whether day (as in nap, a rare occasion) or night, I have disturbing dreams I can't put a finger on. I'm often very sad anxious and in some type of bad situation.
My 10 year old son has ADHD inattentive type and anxiety. We are just starting to treat the anxiety now. He took celexa and I didn't see a difference in his anxiety. We weaned him off of it and took a 2 week hiatus from antidepressants and just gave him his focalin. We now switched him to concerta (lasts longer than focalin)...and added Prozac. Teacher really likes the results at school. However...evenings are hectic. He becomes very silly and immature.
I was prescribed (by my Psych that was with me during recovery) Vyvanse. I was scared as hell, rightfully so but so far it has changed my life. I finally feel normal. He also gave me a 10mg "booster" as the Vyvanse only seems to cover me from 7am to about 2pm. I was on 100% d-amp but just yesterday switched to a new drug (Evekeo) which is 50% d-amp and 50% l-amp.. Will be posting a question on that as well...
The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall.Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.
Just a couple of months ago I was diagnosed ADHD, and Vyvanse was prescribed, along with clonidin. I have to really watch my blood pressure now, because if I miss taking the atenenol, my blood pressure will shoot up over 160 really quick.
Is there any solution for people with 2 conditions like this where the medication for one condition diametrically opposes
the medication for the second condition ?
Would some other blood pressure medication work better than a beta blocker ?
My son who is 9 yrs old has started Vyvanse since January of this year. He is currently on about 25 mg of Vyvanse. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it takes a long time to kick in, like about 2.5 hours for my son. So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. His doctor and I discussed trying Ritalin first in the morning and then adding Vyvanse, which is the reverse of what many people do.
Zoloft is what I use, and it works wonders for me. There are others, but I don't have experience with them. I have tried celexa, but with really bad side effects. Plus, the specialist I see says they have never seen celexa work for OCD, even though it's advertised for it.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Celexa. I have a script. I haven't started it yet. I had a hard time with Zoloft & worried that I will have the same SE with Celexa. I am happy this med works so well for you. Hopefully it will do the same for me! As long as I have energy with no weight gain I will be super happy. And of course it helps with the anxiety.

Hello my name is John and was wondering if anyone can share experiences with Vyvanse. I started Vyvanse 3 months ago and my Doctor started me on a low dose and slowly upped the dose to 50 mg which worked great for me, but I wanted to see if 60 mg would benefit me more. I tried it for 2 weeks and it was definitely too much, it made me very up tight and not myself. So I went back down to 50 mg and now it seems if the 50 mg doesn't work as good as before. Has anyone experienced this?
Adderall 10 mg = Vyvanse 30 mg, Adderall 20 mg = Vyvanse 50 mg, Adderall 30 mg = Vyvanse 70 mg. I always start lower than expected with a change to Vyvanse, as for about 10-15% that anticipated dose of Vyvanse proves too much. I don’t want folks on my watch to experience 10% problems."

My daughter taking vyvanse several months ago. I believe she is abusing the drug. How would she even do that? The pill is a 50mg capsule, now yes it can be opened and it does contain powder inside. But can you really abuse this medication and please explain to me how you would even abuse this medication?
my step son is supposed to take vyvanse and clonidine, but he has been out of vyvance for 3weeks now and seems fine taking only clonidine.
I was perscribed my starting dose just monday.. (it's Wednesday now) and started at 20mg Sunday I move to 40.
I only got 6 20mg tablets. And first day I felt sooo high like I was on cocaine for about 3-4 hours. The 2nd day,(yesterday) I ended up taking a 2nd 29mg 2 hours after my first one.
And I took my 29mg morning dose 2.5 hours ago and I already am trying to justify taking another (to myself)
Crazy.
If you have ADHD and a prescription - no worries even if it does show up. If you don't ....then this search showed that, "Vyvanse is detectable in urine up to 3 days after ingesting Vyvanse. Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. Though Vyvanse itself only stays in your system four hours post-ingestion, the active drug d-amphetamine stays in your system for 40 hours.
