Can I just quit taking celexa cold turkey? I have been real tired and just not feeling like myself and I think its the celexa making me feel that way.

I started 5 mg Celexa 5 days ago and the doctor gave me .5 mg Ativan for just in case. My question is how long until the Celexa starts working? If I use the Ativan too often will it effect how the Celexa works? How hard are these to come off of?
I have just gotten Celexa but I am scared to start using it right now because i see my gf on wed. Would bad enough side effects occur to where I might be different towards my gf? I also want your advice on what's better. Lexapro or Celexa, or maybe even what's better then those for anxiety. I have done everything to attack my anxiety by quitting smoking and all drugs but it's only help a little bit. I finally came to the conclusion that I am ready to start medication.
m going to stay on it a few more weeks since it counteracts the extra anxiety (possibly from the Celexa). I'm only on week 3 of Celexa so I'm hoping it will start to kick in more. I think it is starting to help at least with my mood, but I'm still not back to myself ( I still have some serious stressors in my life that are frustrating, but I think I am getting through those soon). I'm sleeping ok but my appetite is non existent.
Well, it has been two weeks and one day since I have been on Lexapro for depression and generalized anxiety disorder. I TRIED quitting Percocets on December 19th and failed miserably. I went to my doctor and told him about my feelings of severe anxiety, hopelessness, lack of energy, inability to sleep, crying all the time, lack of focus, etc. and he put me on Lexapro. It has REALLY given me my life back!
Today I woke up and did not even THINK about Percocets.
I have been on celexa since it first hit the market - many, many years. I am up to 80 mg/day. I've also gained more than 50 pounds! How can I get off this drug and start weight loss and a healthy attitude? I swim 3 times/week and walk the other two days and am also on Nutri-system. No weight loss!! Please help.
Celexa and Wellbutrin are not addictive, but I agree they are not always safe. For me, Celexa melted all my depression away, but I am quitting since I don't need it any more. I read a few horror stories about both taking Celexa and "quitting Celexa" on another board but I am doing ok for now. I started my wind-down weeks ago after checking with my doc.
I have dropped from 30 mg / day to 20 for 2 weeks, then 10 for 2 weeks, next week 5 for 2 weeks before I get to go to zero.
re suffering withdrawal from the wellbutrin, or side effects from Celexa. Quitting an antidepressant abruptly is not advised -- although wellbutrin isn't one of the worst for withdrawal, they can all be difficult to stop taking and usually are tapered off. This is especially true when switching to a med in a completely class.
I did celexa as well as Prozac and several others until I found that wellbutrin worked the best. I have taken ambien cr and that is my result 4-5 hours of uninterrupted sleep and then 30 minutes of every hour until I decide to get up. I hope it gets better, sleep wise. Being almost depression free is an amazing feeling and may be my driving force to deal with my back pain in other ways.

Ever since I started taking celexa and neurotin i feel weird, my anxiety feels worse than it did im dizzy sweating nervous feeling, very tired, stomach pain, sever headaches im going nuts and its making me and my husband fight cause he thinks I can control this on my own.
This summer my ex-husband helped me to aquire another medication. Celexa which was given to me by th ER doctor. My regular doctor kept me on effexor, buspar, and celexa with ativan as needed. These were the medications that I've taken for roughly 7 months now. Went to my doctor for a prescription refill on my Effexor and now all of a sudden he WON'T fill it. I've GONE COLD TURKEY!!! I was able to find some 75 mg tablets of effexor but only 3 days. So here I come cold turkey!
your memory problems could be from your actual Depression not being taken care of.
When I had my 1st Major Depression, I had a form of memory loss problem, and that was BEFORE I took any meds.
In other words, my depression caused my memory loss. The medications actually restored my memory loss.
So plz call your Doc and tell him/her of your memory problem.
Was on 20mg for 8 months, started cutting down by 5mg every 5 days, second day of quitting and it seems horrible, i cannot move my eyes without brain zaps. Was it too quick?
Both times I was told that I was having Anxiety attacks. Since then I was given Celexa to help me with the attacks. For about a month on the Celexa I did really well as I wasn't having any of the anxiety symptoms but I also suspended my Roxi taper. At this point I was down to half of the Roxi dosage that I was taking and planning on getting off. But I stayed at the sixty mg roxi level a day down from one twenty mg.
