Celexa nursing implications

Common Questions and Answers about Celexa nursing implications

celexa

Avatar f tn Almost the same drug, but at least by reputation the Lexapro cut out some of the difficulties Celexa had. Personally, I found Celexa to be easier to take, though neither worked for me, so that just goes to show how individual this stuff is.
Avatar f tn Not sure if I have the patience to deal with the crying when I stop nursing.....nursing is calming to me, so I may be ok without the benzo. At least for another week or so I'll see, if its not improving much, I'll have to quit the nursing.
Avatar f tn A 68 year-old white male presenting with pectus excavatum and blood pressure that averages 155/85 . What implications may be encountered regarding dysfunctional heart functions ?
Avatar f tn I'm 8 weeks pregnant and have been on Celexa for a few years. Too scared to stop. Any advice??
Avatar f tn I went to ee my doctor 2 days ago and he told me that my condition is call GAD. He also reccommended that I keep taking my celexa 50mg once a day and to increase my xanax to 3 a day. I really don't knwo much about this disorder because I thought all my symptoms were leading to bi-polar. My doctor refuses to treat me for that and believes he is right about the diganosis. Any Opinions???
497348 tn?1283436066 I work very close with a psychiatrist and me and him were in touch the whole time this was going on and he made his own diagnosis that it was serotonin syndrome just because of the meds I was taking. I was tapering off of Celexa 10 mg, I would take it every other day. The last 5 days I took it every single night...
Avatar f tn Five years ago in my first pregnancy I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. I practically begged for my Celexa, as the dad had run out on me and I was living in my dad's basement, etc. My doctor absolutely refused. So I went through my entire first pregnancy single, forced to deal with schizophrenic symptoms for the first time. A couple years ago, sure enough, it was "suddenly" discovered that Celexa caused cleft palate, heart problems, and other birth defects.
Avatar n tn If you removed your uterus you wouldnt be able to be pregnant ever... I am not sure of the implications but i definitely know the previous to be true. Good luck!
1166402 tn?1303847056 Lexapro is a metabolite of Celexa... it's ''the new Celexa''. Supposed to have less side-effects for that matter. Just think of the tricyclic nortriptyline being the major active metabolite of amiltrityline which makes nortriptyline a second generation tricyclic.
497348 tn?1283436066 I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and was wondering why I developed this anxiety disorder, why did I have to start taking Celexa ? I never had anxiety before all this **** with my thyroid is this normal?... I was taking my celexa maybe every 3 days I always forgot to take it so the doctor said that I should go off of it... that if I never had anxiety before my thyroid stuff was going on that I can just take celexa as a temporary treatment while my thyroid adjusts to my medications.
Avatar n tn Mind you, this is not the only symptom of ADD that I exhibit, but it is the most debilitating one that directly is affecting my current job, previous nursing position, and what I was warned about repeatedly in nursing school.
222417 tn?1241564300 Hi Again. I was wondering if anyone on this board is on Celexa { Citalopram}. And could they tell me how it feels? I mean do you feel better? As I am supposed to start soon on this medication. Right now I am on Anafranil and klonopin. Dr has decided to try this medication to see if it will make me better because right now I am not. And also how long before I can take Celexa because I am still on Anafranil. I take 50mgs once a day in the night time.
Avatar f tn As mama2bja mentioned it is OK to take Celexa if you are nursing, and it can really help stabilize the mood swings. It is certainly OK to call your doctor and discuss all these symptoms. MOST of what you have going on will improve dramatically within the next 3 months. Usually women are feeling their worst about 4-6 weeks afterwards and it gets easier from there. That is also when those darn little critters start smiling at Mama. One smile can get you through a lot of misery!
396332 tn?1320003615 I was wondering for any of you that have ever taken celexa....Can you actually feel celexa or is it just like zoloft where you dont notice it at all. Also what are some side effects you experianced?
Avatar m tn I have been on Celexa 20mg for about 6 weeks. My doc has upped it to 30mg...what side effects should I expect?
4548569 tn?1356292637 I have been taking 20 milligrams of generic Celexa for about 4 months to treat anxiety and depression. I was apprehensive to try Celexa because I had heard so many bad things about it. However, within a short time after taking it I noticed a huge improvement in both my depression and anxiety. I am very happy with the Celexa. One problem I am having though is that I have changed as a person and I suspect it is from the Celexa.
Avatar m tn I have been on Celexa for about 5 years and went off it a month ago. Started not to feel right and resumed the dosage I had been on at 60mg. I became a nervous wreck (sweats, panic etc) and then i realized I probably should have started back at a lower dose. Would starting at 60mg after not using it for a month cause me to have these very nervous feelings?
Avatar f tn Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this. I've been on celexa for about 3 months started at 20mg now at 40 mg. I have been seeing a lot of benefits. However I used to be on cymbalta and no matter how much I went to the gym I couldn't lose weight. I am fixing to start working out again and trying to eat healthier. Does anyone know if celexa hinders weight loss with proper diet and exercise.
Avatar f tn I started taking celexa five days ago after going to my doctor for a f/u and completely breaking down bawling like a baby (my mom was just diagnosed with acute leukemia). On day two, I developed a severe headache and very stiff neck. I have had migraines in the past that originate in my neck/shoulder area. So, I thought I was getting a migraine like I've had in the past...I started doing all the things that have worked to relieve the pain before (massage, advil, heat, ice, rest, etc.
Avatar m tn Good morning I have been a long sufferer of anxiety that comes and goes. I am currently in a "goes" cycle and suffering constant panic attacks and I have myself convinced that there is something wrong with my heart despite having a normal ECHO in January, a normal treadmill stress test 2 weeks ago, a normal 24 hours holter 2 months ago and normal blood pressure and cholesterol. My Dr. prescribed me 20 mg of Celexa which I took a few years ago and helped a great deal.
Avatar n tn hi my doctor is putting my wife on celexa for her anxiety and panic attacks, i was wondering does anyone take it and how it makes you feel, she has been taking buspar for 3 days and i think it made her worse and help would be greatly aprreciated
