Common Questions and Answers about Celexa neuropathy

celexa

Avatar f tn I've been on Celexa, Neurontin, and Meloxicam for some time due to chronic pain, depression arthritis, and neuropathy. I've been reading a lot about DLPA and it says NOT to take it with SSRI's. Does anyone know whether I should stop taking the Celexa before I ever start taking Ithis supplement? I'm very anxious to give this supplement a try! My depression has gotten severe...to the point that NOTHING works anymore, I have no sex drive, feel hopeless, I have no motivation, etc...
Avatar n tn Hi Dear, The tingling sensations can be either due to some nerve compression like disc compression around neck, cervical disc. It can be due to spinal arthritis or due to diabetic neuropathy. Treatment involves neurotin and vitamin b complexes.
1059594 tn?1261323966 My neurologist stated that an EMG can detect large fiber neuropathy, and small fiber neuropathy is kind of diagnosed by ruling everything else out. There's also a biopsy that can be done to diagnose small fiber neuropathy. How are you feeling? Are u taking any medication?
Avatar n tn Also, a normal physical examination makes large fiber neuropathy unlikely, though small fber neuropathy could still be a possibility. (There are 2 types of nerves in our body, large and small. The small nerve endings supply the skin and sweat glands. There are two types of sensory neuropathy: small fiber and large fiber (depending on the size of the nerves affected).
Avatar m tn Have you ever had an STD, like syphilis (no need to answer on here, tell your doctor) Neuropathy sounds like the most likely candidate for this situation. Did you change your soap powder or deodorant. Please answer as many of these questions as you can. The more honest you are, the better help we can be.
Avatar n tn the Qsart showed an indication of non length dependent small fiber neuropathy, but the biopsy of my nerves were fine!...Emg showed a SLIGHT peripheral neuropathy of my peroneal nerves in both legs...no upper emg...yet. i am 53 years old and and going through menopause...i am not allowed HRT because of BRAC2 defect..i am told by OBGYN that my problem is too severe to be menopausal...but right now i am thinking it is or perhaps RSD.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy of the hands and feet. I am in constant pain. I am taking Lortab 10mg Q6hrs. This is the only thing I have found that helps the pain. It does not go away but it helps me to tolerate the pain. I'm at the end of my rope! I am a nurse and trying to work. Is there any new medicines or treatments out there that I could try?.I take Neurotin 300 TID and Celexa 10mg 1Qday. I feel like I need to take more Lortab but do not want to continue with that.
Avatar n tn I have also been having anxiety attacks lately which i was recently prescribed celexa. My doctor said the numbness could be caused by the anxiety. I have run out of ideas on what to do any suggestions?
Avatar m tn The other type of sensory neuropathy is called a large fiber neuropathy. There are several categories of this type of neuropathy, and there are many many causes. Sensory neuropathies can involve just one nerve or several nerves in the body. The symptoms are sensory loss and if motor nerves are involved weakness may occur. Some types of sensory neuropathies occur and progress very slowly, others sort of wax and wane (with flare-ups) and some are progressive.
329994 tn?1301663248 So I addressed this with my doc and he put me on Celexa instead. It is a sister to celexa just not the name brand. I hope this helps, you may want to look into both and research the similarities/differences. Hope you feel better soon!
1134609 tn?1269272200 I just dumped 50 of the 100lbs, I gained from Celexa and, because obesity runs rampant in both sides of my family, I am desperate to avoid this. I'm not over-exaggerating; 100lbs in the space of a few years; all while working out like a madman and watching my calories..
1166402 tn?1303847056 Lexapro is a metabolite of Celexa... it's ''the new Celexa''. Supposed to have less side-effects for that matter. Just think of the tricyclic nortriptyline being the major active metabolite of amiltrityline which makes nortriptyline a second generation tricyclic.
222417 tn?1241564300 Hi Again. I was wondering if anyone on this board is on Celexa { Citalopram}. And could they tell me how it feels? I mean do you feel better? As I am supposed to start soon on this medication. Right now I am on Anafranil and klonopin. Dr has decided to try this medication to see if it will make me better because right now I am not. And also how long before I can take Celexa because I am still on Anafranil. I take 50mgs once a day in the night time.
396332 tn?1320003615 I was wondering for any of you that have ever taken celexa....Can you actually feel celexa or is it just like zoloft where you dont notice it at all. Also what are some side effects you experianced?
Avatar m tn I have been on Celexa 20mg for about 6 weeks. My doc has upped it to 30mg...what side effects should I expect?
4548569 tn?1356292637 I have been taking 20 milligrams of generic Celexa for about 4 months to treat anxiety and depression. I was apprehensive to try Celexa because I had heard so many bad things about it. However, within a short time after taking it I noticed a huge improvement in both my depression and anxiety. I am very happy with the Celexa. One problem I am having though is that I have changed as a person and I suspect it is from the Celexa.
Avatar m tn I have been on Celexa for about 5 years and went off it a month ago. Started not to feel right and resumed the dosage I had been on at 60mg. I became a nervous wreck (sweats, panic etc) and then i realized I probably should have started back at a lower dose. Would starting at 60mg after not using it for a month cause me to have these very nervous feelings?
Avatar f tn Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this. I've been on celexa for about 3 months started at 20mg now at 40 mg. I have been seeing a lot of benefits. However I used to be on cymbalta and no matter how much I went to the gym I couldn't lose weight. I am fixing to start working out again and trying to eat healthier. Does anyone know if celexa hinders weight loss with proper diet and exercise.
Avatar f tn I started taking celexa five days ago after going to my doctor for a f/u and completely breaking down bawling like a baby (my mom was just diagnosed with acute leukemia). On day two, I developed a severe headache and very stiff neck. I have had migraines in the past that originate in my neck/shoulder area. So, I thought I was getting a migraine like I've had in the past...I started doing all the things that have worked to relieve the pain before (massage, advil, heat, ice, rest, etc.
Avatar m tn Good morning I have been a long sufferer of anxiety that comes and goes. I am currently in a "goes" cycle and suffering constant panic attacks and I have myself convinced that there is something wrong with my heart despite having a normal ECHO in January, a normal treadmill stress test 2 weeks ago, a normal 24 hours holter 2 months ago and normal blood pressure and cholesterol. My Dr. prescribed me 20 mg of Celexa which I took a few years ago and helped a great deal.
Avatar n tn hi my doctor is putting my wife on celexa for her anxiety and panic attacks, i was wondering does anyone take it and how it makes you feel, she has been taking buspar for 3 days and i think it made her worse and help would be greatly aprreciated

619930 tn?1260374254 for something to help me deal with anxiety/anger sides that I have been dealing with for almost 2 months. She prescribed Celexa and I started it on Thursday night and have been really nauseous along with a fuzzy almost headache ever since. I thought my stomach issues were relatively under control before this started, but now I am having the hardest time eating much of anything.
497348 tn?1283436066 So it has been almost a month now that I have been on Celexa 10 mg, I have been feeling a little bit better but I was wondering when does the SSRi finally kick in for people? I heard it takes 4-6 weeks or 6-8 weeks... not sure?... Does anyone take it for anxiety with related to thyroid issues? All I have heard from my fellow co workers who work in mental health is that celexa maybe isnt the drug for me and my anxiety and panic issues?...
