celexa

470885 tn?1326329037 I was weaning off of Celxa (20 mg/day that I've been taking for just over a year) about a month ago, and it wasn't going well at all. I felt like garbage overall for a week after stopping the medication - I went down to 10 mg/day for a week and then stopped....my GP's recommended regimen. There was no end in sight of my symptoms from this (dizziness, brain "rushes", irritability, fatigue - so he put me back on the meds and had me come back in to see him after a month.
Avatar f tn I just realized that when I took the cortisol test I was going through withdrawal from Antidepressants and was always in a panic state (I reinstated on Celexa and tapering really slow with liquid now. No withdrawal so far) . Before I tried to get off Celexa I had major fatigue and all the signs of adrenal fatigue for years.
Avatar f tn I have reinstated Celexa 10mg after going through really bad withdrawal symptoms. My doctor wants to add Rhodiola to the mix cause it has a synergistic effect and will help with my dooms day feelings and stress. I will be taking half a 150mg pill and then moving up. Is this okay? I have read that its okay and that there are no interactions with other meds..and I have read other people say don't mix them and its a bad idea.
Avatar f tn Theyve try treatment different times and nothing then the dr said about me also having auto immune disease, I had no idea what that was. Im taking 8 pills three times a day and a liquid twice a day, been feeling worse n worse does anyone have advice on any of this?? Please help, dont have any support from my family. Trying to do this for my own good.
484508 tn?1290010544 Hitman is on 20 which is the smallest Celexa they make. 20 mg of Celexa is the normal starter dose per my doc and pharmacist. I take it from your earlier post that he should take half in the morning and half in the afternoon that you didn't realize that would involve splitting a 20? I hope hitman will let us know what he found out from his doc or pharmacist (as I told him to do) about doing 10 twice a day.
Avatar f tn I have a tip that works wonders for my anxiety and panic attacks. I use liquid dye free benadryl. I have tried celexa, lexapro, zolaft, paxil, Prozac, wellbutrin, and trazadone. They all had side effects and some of them made it worse. I stop taking all of the meds because I found I did not need them all the time just at certain times of the month. The benadryl helps by calming me and it is much safer than any meds. I hope this helps you.
Avatar f tn I had to stop taking both because I ended up getting pancreatis. My liapse was at 740 and amaylase was at 245. I went on a clear liquid diet and they came down. Anything I ate would bring it back up. The dr. put a stint in and by the time I was in recovery, I was in horrible pain. They gave me a shot and sent me out the door. Next day I ended up in emergency room and they told me nothing was wrong and could doing nothing for the pain.
Avatar f tn The doctor I am seeing now seems to think the liquid taper will be the best way to get off. I am on 20mg celexa so on the first month I will take off 10% and stay at it for about a month and then continue with another 10% cut. I was told to take 12.5 mg cytomel but it was just too much. I am cutting that in half and it seems to be better. I will have to work my way up slowly, but I need it considering my T3 is very low.
1166402 tn?1303847056 Lexapro is a metabolite of Celexa... it's ''the new Celexa''. Supposed to have less side-effects for that matter. Just think of the tricyclic nortriptyline being the major active metabolite of amiltrityline which makes nortriptyline a second generation tricyclic.
222417 tn?1241564300 Hi Again. I was wondering if anyone on this board is on Celexa { Citalopram}. And could they tell me how it feels? I mean do you feel better? As I am supposed to start soon on this medication. Right now I am on Anafranil and klonopin. Dr has decided to try this medication to see if it will make me better because right now I am not. And also how long before I can take Celexa because I am still on Anafranil. I take 50mgs once a day in the night time.
396332 tn?1320003615 I was wondering for any of you that have ever taken celexa....Can you actually feel celexa or is it just like zoloft where you dont notice it at all. Also what are some side effects you experianced?
Avatar m tn I have been on Celexa 20mg for about 6 weeks. My doc has upped it to 30mg...what side effects should I expect?
4548569 tn?1356292637 I have been taking 20 milligrams of generic Celexa for about 4 months to treat anxiety and depression. I was apprehensive to try Celexa because I had heard so many bad things about it. However, within a short time after taking it I noticed a huge improvement in both my depression and anxiety. I am very happy with the Celexa. One problem I am having though is that I have changed as a person and I suspect it is from the Celexa.
Avatar m tn I have been on Celexa for about 5 years and went off it a month ago. Started not to feel right and resumed the dosage I had been on at 60mg. I became a nervous wreck (sweats, panic etc) and then i realized I probably should have started back at a lower dose. Would starting at 60mg after not using it for a month cause me to have these very nervous feelings?
Avatar f tn Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this. I've been on celexa for about 3 months started at 20mg now at 40 mg. I have been seeing a lot of benefits. However I used to be on cymbalta and no matter how much I went to the gym I couldn't lose weight. I am fixing to start working out again and trying to eat healthier. Does anyone know if celexa hinders weight loss with proper diet and exercise.
Avatar f tn I started taking celexa five days ago after going to my doctor for a f/u and completely breaking down bawling like a baby (my mom was just diagnosed with acute leukemia). On day two, I developed a severe headache and very stiff neck. I have had migraines in the past that originate in my neck/shoulder area. So, I thought I was getting a migraine like I've had in the past...I started doing all the things that have worked to relieve the pain before (massage, advil, heat, ice, rest, etc.
Avatar m tn Good morning I have been a long sufferer of anxiety that comes and goes. I am currently in a "goes" cycle and suffering constant panic attacks and I have myself convinced that there is something wrong with my heart despite having a normal ECHO in January, a normal treadmill stress test 2 weeks ago, a normal 24 hours holter 2 months ago and normal blood pressure and cholesterol. My Dr. prescribed me 20 mg of Celexa which I took a few years ago and helped a great deal.
Avatar n tn hi my doctor is putting my wife on celexa for her anxiety and panic attacks, i was wondering does anyone take it and how it makes you feel, she has been taking buspar for 3 days and i think it made her worse and help would be greatly aprreciated

619930 tn?1260374254 for something to help me deal with anxiety/anger sides that I have been dealing with for almost 2 months. She prescribed Celexa and I started it on Thursday night and have been really nauseous along with a fuzzy almost headache ever since. I thought my stomach issues were relatively under control before this started, but now I am having the hardest time eating much of anything.
497348 tn?1283436066 So it has been almost a month now that I have been on Celexa 10 mg, I have been feeling a little bit better but I was wondering when does the SSRi finally kick in for people? I heard it takes 4-6 weeks or 6-8 weeks... not sure?... Does anyone take it for anxiety with related to thyroid issues? All I have heard from my fellow co workers who work in mental health is that celexa maybe isnt the drug for me and my anxiety and panic issues?...
672514 tn?1265655141 OK my 1st question, sorry! I started Celexa 3 months ago, I have been on 5mg celexa (most Doctors would say not even therapeutic) well it has been for me, now I am considering moving up to 10mgs. Anyone on celexa have any pros or cons ?
Avatar n tn Has anyone had experience with Celexa. My doctor wants to put me on it and I'd like some information before doing so. I take xanax at present but I've been using it too long and it no longer works. Apparently my doctor feels that my sleep might benefit from using Celexa.
Avatar f tn I've been on many different meds in the past, including Celexa and was just prescribed it again. The problem is I really hate to start taking it for fear it will eventually stop working. I am also very overweight and I am concerned about weight gain. Also, it was prescribed to take in the morning, but since I do have some anxiety and suffer with sleep apnea I think is I do decide to take it, night time would probably be best. Any thoughts?
